Im not sure if FRP have something common with flashing recovery. https://www.androidcentral.com/factory-reset-protection-what-you-need-know thats just protect to your phone, when you loggin to another account how last time before and after factory reset

U can assume its enabling oem unlock from developer options . If u disable it ,u cant unlock bootloader.

No need of google account , u need to get ur unlock code from honor

edit: if you have locked FRP and before factory reset was already login to your google account and for example you sold phone another person, this another person will cant enter to phone, because last google account was your, and password know only you... thats is FRP, bootloader you can unlock when you want, this is nothing common with FRP and flashing something, correct me if im wrong

When the bootloader is unlocked such feature no longer works and stands for vulnerabilities.
But FRP when locked u cannot unlock ur bootloader .
U need to keep it in unlocked state , this happens only when your device has oem unlock enabled . May be it is just to make sure that the device doesnt belong to a traitor

Hahaha , good one

I'm also stuck here.. No bootable rom, phone doesn't detect SD card (Tried 2 brands, 16 gb, 32 gb, and 64 gb)
Fastboot screen has bootloader unlocked, FRP LOCKED
When I try and flash a recovery, or update whatever, using flashboot.. always gives " FAILED: REMOTE COMMAND NOT ALLOWED"
TWRP: I have tried RESTORE to back up.. all things go right except at the end get "UNABLE TO WIPE VENDOR"
I try and install an old ROM (162)
Results into this error:

I dislike Huawei so much right now...

Yea, I think I have good drivers... as I can see the device if I do "FLASHBOOT DEVICES".. it shows up.
I am using command "fashboot flash recovery recovery.img"

Yes, its in here.
Alternatively, in TWRP through ADB sideload.. I also attempted "ADB SIDELOAD Update.zip".. error: "cannot read update.zip".

Yes, I am in fastboot screen (where it reads phone unlocked.. FRP LOCKED).

Ok, thats look like you dont have in pc drivers for phone = Hisuite

Hisuite is running..
To clarify..
1. TWRP Installation of "UPDATE.ZIP" (containing 162 ROM) fails.. with "Unable to mount /vendor, unable to mount/partition"
2. TWRP ADB Sideload: Can't mount
3. Phone in white Fastboot/ADB bootloader: Status reads Bootloader unlocked, FRP Locked.. with commands it gives error FAILED (REMOTE: COMMAND NOT ALLOWED).
So phone is connecting without problems..

When I dial *#*#2846579#*#* then select reset, it is clean of any FRP! It's only when it's in fastboot mode!

You basically have to reflash a Rom again with funkyhuawei which will relock and fix your ftp lock in the bootloader. Had the same problem and took me a while to recover...
Second time you unlock the bootloader after fixing it this way it works properly. At that point I just said screw it and left it locked. No idea why, must be some kind of bug.

If marshmallow, then just re flash firmware to relock bootloader.
If nougat then you need paid method, dc-unlocker to relock bootloader

It's highly unlikely that you're SOL, if you can get into the bootloader then you can flash the stock recovery. If you can flash the stock recovery, you can flash a rollback package to completely restore everything to stock.
So long as you have a working fastboot, you're fine.

Try a 'fastboot oem relock' with the unlock code, then after the reboot, try unlocking again.

Honor 8 FRD-L09 Can't flash TWRP FAILED (remote not allowed)

Hi, I'm trying to root my Honor 8 device and install TWRP. However when I try to flash the TWRP file in ADB, I get this error message:

It's my first time rooting a device manually, so i dont know much. If you are able to, please refer to things in an easy manner.
Thanks in advance.

I had same problem. I successfully unlocked bootloader but after that I accidentally restored default settings in developer settings and oem unlock was ticked off and greyd out. Then I noticed the same FRP lock.
I had to relock and unlock the bootloader. Only after that I was able to flash twrp on my phone.
To relock you type "fastboot oem relock (unlock code)"
After that you can turn on "oem unlock" and "usb debugging"
And yes, It will wipe your data when relocking and again after unlocking so it takes some time. Hope this helps :fingers-crossed:

PGP signing TWRP doesn't work, private key needed?

Hello!
I am trying to sign TWRP (Redmi Note 8 ginkgo) using GPG on Windows 10. I have imported the TWRP public key, however, when I select the file for signing, it does not show up in the drop-down menu in Kleopatra. From my research, this seems to be due to it being a public key and missing the private key part (correct me if this is incorrect please).
I have no idea how to acquire such a key that would allow me to sign TWRP correctly. Could anyone please help me with this?
Thank you!
Well from my understanding are you trying to lock the bootloader with TWRP installed?

No, the bootloader is still locked and I don't have TWRP installed.
I want to use the command "fastboot boot twrp.img" in adb, however, it doesn't work with a locked bootloader. I get the error "FAILED (remote: Fastboot boot command is not available in locked device)".
I read somewhere that it might work if TWRP was signed without having to unlock the bootloader.
Well does your phone have some problems and cannot unlock bootloader?
The signing key is something only accessible by people working for Xiaomi, unfortunately.

1. Fastboot and ADB are 2 totally different softwares: don't confuse them.
2. You only can sucessfully apply Fastboot commands if phone's bootloader is unlocked. Hence unlock bootloader as 1st thing of all things:
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot fastboot
fastboot reboot fastboot
fastboot flashing unlock

Unfortunately, my phone no longer accepts the correct pattern to unlock it. I have been trying to find a solution for this for weeks, if only so I can back up my data before wiping it, but none of the options I found seem to work in my situation. From what I know, unlocking bootloader would delete everything, which is the exact thing I'm trying to avoid, so it is unfortunately not an option. :/

Thank you for the correction. I only started getting into this recently and I mostly saw them bundled together so I assumed Fastboot was part of ADB.
