EDIT: On Oreo now.
EDIT:
Is you're stock at an "old" version and the "normal" way of updating via OTA dosn't work try this:
Go to system update setting,
Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner and select download latest full package.
That should give you the latest Nougat updates.
For Oreo: Try to use HiSuite
Not all countries receive updates at the same time. Even not all phones in the same country.
If you have automatic update enable you'll receive a notification.
Hope so your model belong to the UK (Not sure). If it is UK model, you will get the update within the first batch of release.
If you belong to any other region it takes time. But you will get it for sure.
Depends on the sponsors in your region, your carrier...

No, my model don't "belong" to the UK. I live in Denmark and bought the phone in Denmark.
Don't know if you mean UK model as in European model.
I bought the phone off-contract (it's not branded it anything), so it's not depending on any carrier.
Well I as have understood it, there is no UK version, only a European version (for Europe).
I have the same model and got the b120 update a few days after it was reported here (i guess most here have the US model). The b150 seems to take longer though

Strange? I received and installed B160 and phone info reports I'm on android 6.0
I have model frd al10
Does this mean higher ota version number not necessarily higher version of Android?
Seems like there are 3 versions (regions) of Honor 8.
EU, US and Chinese versions. (32 and 64 gb)
Anyone knows or can confirm which models have what versions of Android, as the latest available as we speak?
Seems like the EU (FRD-L09/AL19) version is running Android 6.0 - B120 (unbranded - not carrier depending)

All are running in 6.0 update. However some region would have got 6.0.1 update. Some regions would have not got it.
Always there will be one incremental update difference (maximum) between the regions. As all regions wont get the update in the same time.
Ok, let me put it this way: Has anyone with the FRD-L09 model received the B150/6.0.1 update yet?
B141 is out of the box. B150 is slowly being distributed still.
I don't think Asian and EU/US release codes are the same.
India 32GB = FRD-L02 firmware so there's more than 3 regional firmware types
The latest firmware for L09C432 is B131 and that is the EU region, L09C636 is Asia, L09C185 is Africa/Middle East, US is L04, India is L02.
Is not just the modell like L09 that says where your phone is from, is the Cust, like C432, C636, C185, then there is Branded phones like C02 is Vodafone, C55 is TIM Italy and so on....
So for your version if u are from Denmark u should have C432 the latest is B131.
Then we have China modells like AL10 and DL00, C10....
U have a thread with latest firmware here.

Yes, I have the C432 model. However my current build is: FRD-L09C432B120, and there is no update, if I check with the "Updater". The phone was shipped with version FRD-L09C432B120, so so far I haven't installed any updates...

It might be a Beta version. Wait for the bugs to get fixed and get a stable update as OTA
If you need now, you can update manually.
B150 is on the way. Major release.

I purchased a Mate 9 off Gumtree, but it was from Vodafone and it's stuck on MHAL09C346B136. Apparently, there are virtually no updates for the Vodafone Australia version so I want to give the phone the FunkyHuawei treatment and change the model number to and unbranded Australian model that will actually get updates as B136 is freaking ancient...
So if anyone knows which model for Australian that I should be using, please let me know!
Also if you are in Perth and have messed with Funky before - hit me up, I would love to pay you to flash my Mate 9!! (Yup I'm nervous!)
I think its C636 like the australians P9 Models
Edit: Wait, the p8 is C470

Nah, C636 is Southeast Asia / Asia Pacific (but not including Australia).
That's weird because my mate 9 is single sim... It only lists dual sim there.

I don't think FH lets you rebrand to any Australian models, check their website. Also, talk to duraaraa ..
From what I understand, there are ~3 "C" models in Australia - Optus and Vodafone have their own specific models and then there is a "Carrier Free" model (sold by JB HiFi/Hardly Normal), which is actually a Dual-SIM model. The Optus/Voda is Single-SIM only..
MHA-L09C34 = Optus
MHA-L09C346 = Voda
MHA-L29C652 = Harvey Norman Dual-SIM model.
Thread about rebranding talks about these 3 models also... https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...0-mate9-to-t3554656/post70992863#post70992863
C272 / C470 / C567 - ASIA PACIFIC / AUSTRALIA
Note: C567 is USA and C470 is New Zealand.. I believe
More info on regions here:

If any option is viable, it would be rebranding to the MHA-L29C636 branding, which has been detailed on the forums here etc... That has been said to be one of the quickest to get updates... rebranding from a Single-SIM to a Dual-SIM model works and it just makes the second IMEI just show as 0's.
i bought my C636 from JBHIFI
dual sim, outright.

Ok, thanks for info... Good to know - I bought my C636 from Thailand... Can you tell me if VoLTE is working on yours (if you are using a telco which supports it) ? The setting doesn't show up on mine, and I thought it was because I bought the C636 model which is not an Australian model / wouldnt include the AU VoLTE configs.. Tho my guess is the Optus / Vodafone models include their VoLTE configs in their specific firmwares.. Telstra of course do not sell the phone - so no specific firmware available..

I have the Vodafone version and it doesn't have the setting anywhere - I am using it on Optus though, not sure if that has any bearing on the situation.
Also - Leighm0... would you be willing to have a go at rebranding my Mate 9? I only have a Chromebook and I need windows to do it I think. I own my own company and we run on ChromeOS - so everyone is using ChromeOS... The disadvantage of owning a Pixel LS!!! I'm in Perth, our offices are in Brookfield Place in the city.

Yeah - going to assume Vodafone version contains VoLTE for vodafone (if they even have support for it on their network?) ...
Sorry I'm not too comfortable messing with this phone yet, I'm still running stock without any rooting or custom recovery etc...

Telstra and Optus both have VoLTE - my wife has it on her Note 5.. shows as VoLTE icon in the status bar up the top when its available.. Theres a thread here on XDA about the option being available, but only if your provider support it AND there are configuration files for it in your "cust" partition..
Info on Telstra VoLTE:

Optus announcement:

Edit: Vodafone also.
I have rebrande my mate 9 ,mha-l29c185 to c636 and enrolled into Oreo beta program but i am getting a message "your phone cannot participate in any projects" while other c636 brands are getting Oreo Beta today, what went wrong with me. Screenshots are attached
Try a SIM for that region
I am in Pakistan and the region which is receiving Oreo is Malaysia ?
I didn't know there were C636 users eligible for the Oreo Beta. I thought it was only for C432 users.

Yeah i have seen plenty of update images and post in a Fb group thats why i asked a query, my phone is c636 and i think i am not getting this update due to be in different region.
Have been using my Mate 9 single sim L09 for nearly a year - something I haven't managed with any phone in my life. I love it.
Received phone with C185 branding (Middle-East / Africa). Since then I rebranded to C432 (Europe) as there were very slow updates to C185.
Now according to Firmware Finder the first regions to get Oreo are C636 (Asia-Pacific), C10 (Russia) and C185 (My original region lol)
What region would you rebrand to if you had a choice? Do you think we get monthly security updates on any region in 2018 now?
TLDR: Should have stayed on C185 Africa region
Hi everybody, I've seen many guides on how to rebrand Mate 9 and on how to update to Oreo... But as I'm a beginner on this subject I would like to know if there is a way to do BOTH at the same time:
I've got a chinese MHA-AL00 running stock Nougat and I'm tired of all those chinese notifications and HiApp crap.... I want to rebrand to C432 or c636 (don't know the difference) to get full Google integration (mainly for Assistant support) instead of that HiApp sh*t....
Can I flash it directly to an international Oreo?

I think you should rebrand while on Nougat to C432 (Europe) or C636 (Singapore if I'm correct) and then update to Oreo using the OTA in system settings. I rebranded from AL00 too to C432 and had the Oreo update via OTA.
There is a good comprehensive guide somewhere here about rebranding.
You can. Here is the method, only difference that you have to choose rebrand at the software instead of flash update.
