After updating to Nougat, I started having problems with my Bluetooth switching off. I have tried resetting my phone to factory settings, but with no success. I only have Android Wear install on my phone so it can't be an app that does it.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
Thanks for any help.
Me too ... same problem on Z5 6683 DS
It's android issue, Goto Settings, Location, 3 dots, Searching, then disable Bluetooth search
Mine's spanish, but I guees it should be something like that in english based phones.
That did the trick for me, bluetooth stops switching off after that, hope it helps

Interesting one, and can't figure out why it's happening - so if anyone has any thoughts x)
Flashed L tonight, all went smoothly and generally everything is fine. The only weird thing is that Google Voice search has stopped working. I press the Voice search button, and it just doesn't pick up any sound. I trying saying "ok google", and it doesn't pick that up either. Also, along with that, Text to Speech refuses to work too, tried with different languages and different voice packs.
Any ideas?
I know I had to go into the Google Now settings and activate the "OK Google" from any screen, to get it to work.
I had the same problem when setting another language as the primary language, then switching back to English, but something seemed bugged.
Removing all the other languages and restoring English (US) only, and finally rebooting, resolved the issue. Hope this helps.

Hmm, just gave that a try, no dice Was it just the Voice language or the whole phone that you had to change?
The weird thing is, it's like it's not even connecting to the microphone, just sits there listening and not hearing anything x)
Yes, that was exactly the same behavior i had with mine. I also ended up trying to configure Ok Google from any screen, and the voice training feature didn't hear anything, remaining stuck on the 1st of 3 verifications.
Maybe you can try going to Settings > App > All > Google Search and deleting cache/data to restore it brand new.

Tried that, and reflashing it, factory reset etc. Turns out the problem is slightly wider than just that not working though - It's killed the Microphone completely, can't make voice calls, it's like it's just not picking up the mix exists for some reason :S
It takes time to activate, there is a backend update of google going on while you select your language, but eventually comes back on.
Try voice typing if your believe the mic is not doing any good for "ok google"

just to try it out to rule out whether it's the telephony app or in effect a bug which affects 5.0 as a whole(which i highly doubt, because i have mine working like a charm) Hell mine even works on off-screen while charging.

Ok, voice search nothing, voice typing nothing, Making Phone calls, nothing x) The only thing I haven't managed to try yet is downloading a 3rd party voice recorder app - but unfortunately I'm on GSM at work and for some reason, Lollipop is refusing to connect to the wifi as well. Good times
Might just flash it back to 4.4.4 and wait for the OTA upgrade to see if that does it better
Just as an additional - managed to download a voice recorder app.... Nothing either. So the whole OS isn't picking up the Microphone. Curiouser and curiouser
Oh hell.... I'm going to hang my head in shame now and hand in any tehcy credentials I may have once had.
I have a Pressy.... I forgot it was plugged in... I didn't install the app. Lollipop saw it as a headset and mic.
In conclusion: I'm an idiot. That is all x) Thank you for anyone who tried to help though.
I have the exact same problem but no pressy. Could it mean that there is a fault with the headphone jack?

Ohh dear, not the answer I wanted to hear. Glad to see I'm not the only one with the issue. So you did a factory reset to resolve it?
Same here. After so many bugs I am about to sell that damn thing. It really is a shame! Common, but those are core basic things that should never NEVER ever have issues like this!
I have the same issue since a day... I tested many workaround ut nothing works and I will not do a factory reset for that!
Hope we will find a solution.
I read a lot of posts speaking about a USB connector issue.
The connector needs to be cleaned or changed.
Any one have more info ?
For those who are interested, I really think it is a software bug because when I connect my phone into my car in bluetooth, the speakerphone shut off.
So it's so annoying to manually cut the speakerphone that I decided to reset my phone today.
I'm currently doing a backup with Helium (because I'm not yet rooted) and then I will do a factory reset.
I will keep you informed.
Problem still persists. Please keep us informed.
Finally...
After resetting my phone the problem is solved !!!
I reinstalled all my applications and it is still ok.
Now the question is for how long...
You know what you have to do.
Enjoy !
I for sure won't do that! I'll better be selling this bug loaded piece. Memory leakage issue is driving me nuts. Can't handle 3 apps without having to reload them every time. Veeeery disappointed. And I mean common.. the basic calling feature is not able to work properly.. WTF
Seems like not many are facing this issue? It came out of nowhere on mine and I really dont want to reset my phone for this. I'd like to keep this thread active.
Just reset your phone and that's it!
Sent from my SM-G920F using XDA Free mobile app
Same problem here and same case. When on Bluetooth in my car, the speaker will not auto enable, but whe I turn off BT, the problem persists. I tried the Svoice, The Partition Cache cleaning, the reset, etc. Up to now, no positive results.
I admitted defeat and reset my phone, problem gone
I've solved my speaker phone problem
Hi,
I use note 4 and had similar problem. After long testing, I've found out mine was related to Gear VR. If I turn on "do not disturb" inside the Gear VR setup Menu and unplug the phone. My phone will always go into speakerphone. Very annoying. If I go back into the Gear VR and enable the "do not disturb" and then disable it again (so "do not disturb" is off). My speaker phone problem goes away.
Do you use Gear VR on your phone? If you do, then your speaker phone issue is probably related to the problem I had.
I hope this post will help some of you.
i got here by doing google.
my phone is doing that too. everytime i answer the phone, the speaker is on, i have to turn it off everytime !
cant find any setting to disable it, i think i going to reset my phone too.
@netnerd, Never found a fix, quite easy to do a backup and restore using Helium app after resetting the phone.
Hi!
Im on exynos version of S7 and i have a little problem.
On apeq stock firmware (i didnt noticed this before), when locking device / turning off screen, phone is activating Bluetooth on its own! Ive noticed Bluetooth icon disappearing moments after turning screen on. There is battery drain from Bluetooth sharing (or someting simmilar, i have non-english version of android set).
Bluetooth is disabled in options and Bluetooth scanning is turned off. I do not use any kind of Bluetooth hardware /dongles.
Is this a common bug?
I haven't seen or heard of this before, but just thinking about it...Do you have any location based apps running that night trigger your bluetooth like IFTTT or My Places?
No, i've got no such things besides standard google apps. No new apps since last rom update.
Well, i think i have found a guilty app.
I tried factory reset, then i have downgraded to APC8 firmware and still, after app installation bluetooth started to show up.
By trial & error method i started to delete apps one by one and found out that SwiftKey was the "bad apple". Unfortunately for me - it's my favorite keyboard...
Well, after uninstalling and replacing it with google keyboard all is fine for now.
Hi, I've bought some Redmi Airdots 3 headphones, and I have problems using them. They have a lot of interference, mainly on the left one. Sometimes they work fine for a moment and I can hear ok, but it doesn't last long, and this makes it impossible to use them.
I've read on another post that something similar happens with Air Pods. I've tried some profile changes from developer mode, but nothing changes.
I've also tried using them without WiFi connection, whithout phone case and they still fail.
The better way I've found is using them with flight mode activated, and they work almost a 95% ok.
Do you have any idea what is happening? Or any sugestions?
Try completely unpairing the airdots, and then try connecting them to another device (preferably with Bluetooth 5.2)
This in order to discard that you're facing an issue with the airdots and not with your phone

I tried before post, I forgot. Unpairing was the first option, and other devices works nice.
I read about security patch update and after that other users have the same problem.

Try going to Developer Options/ Networking/ Absolute Volume.
Check if there's any change by enabling or disabling that option!

I enable absolute volume and it's still working bad. I test different bluetooth profiles on Developer Options when I play music. Sometimes can't hear anything. If I change, work again (Of course, with interferences).
It's my girlfriend's phone... I will try to install a new stock ROM. Do you think do any change? And what do you say about Lineage, I read something about changes on codecs... I can't find that post and I don't remember exactly what they say and I'm newbie in audio options :')
Hi everyone,
I'm a new Pixel 3a user and I was quite excited to finally get my hands on a Pixel, but I immediately found out an issue which is too annoying for me to ignore: the device keeps losing Bluetooth connection with other paired devices, even if only connected with one. This is so bad that if I cover my BT headphone with one hand or turn my head putting it in between the two devices, the audio starts to cut-out until it loses the connection.
I've tried everything, from Network Reset and deleting Bluetooth cache to even install different Android OS from Android 9 to 12 while performing factory resets, the problem is always there and is just too frustrating.
Are you aware of a possibile solution, like if there are any custom ROMs addressing this problem? I saw this is such a common issue in this device.
Thanks in advance.
Try changing the Bluetooth options in developer options. You probably know how to get the settings menu option by tapping the build number.
You could try the Gabeldorsche stack or other settings, e.g. different versions.

Thanks for the answer! Unfortunately I already tried a lot of different combinations of those settings without success. This is stressful as hell.

Sorry to hear that. Perhaps it's a HW issue with the antenna?
My bluetooth has worked very well, except paired to one cheap speaker. The volume was low and could not be adjusted. I tinkered with the developer settings lowering some of the protocol versions and the issue was solved.
