I installed Lineage OS hieauhl several days ago.
I have used it without trouble.
But today something like 8-bit icon appeared on the screen, and I cannot unlock it
I can take phone calls, and take screen shots. Photos can be transferred to google photo. Therefore, I think internet connection works properly.
Could someone else help me unlock the screen?
Looks like malware too me. Try booting into safe-mode and uninstall the app it came along with.

So hello, my first thread here and I wasn't expecting it to be a negative one
I have had my Sensation since it was released in the US for T-Mobile. I have been pretty happy with it, takes great pictures, videos, quick processor etc...well after this so called "update", everytime I use the camera or camcorder option, the phone's screen wants to timeout...you know, it dims after whatever time you have preset and then it locks the screen. Well it never did that before when I was taking pictures or videos so if this is a way to "save" battery life, then someone is not thinking before they act. There is nothing more frustrating than taking a video and in the middle of it the screen darkens and 2 seconds later it locks and turns the video off. Sure you can touch the screen with your other hand but: 1) Creates a shakier video trying to touch the screen while you are filming and 2) You don't always have an empty hand...
I really hope there is a fix for this..
Similar issue with camera & camcorder
I am also having a similar issue with the camera & camcorder apps. After performing OTA update, they gave me a black screen. I rebooted to see if that would help, but now the apps just open for a second with a black screen and white icon and then shut down immediately. I'm going to try factory reset and see if it helps. I've read in other forums that it's a bug with the shutter and the phones were returned. Will post my results here.

Well, no dice. After doing factory restore and deleting a bunch of apps I still get the same trouble with the camera/camcorder. I've got insurance on it and an old HTC HD2 (rooted and running Froyo) that I'm becoming very fond of, so I'll be returning this phone but I would like to know what the issue is.
I am sorry you are facing the issue but i just checked and my camera is working fine for me as of now at the OTA update
hi all. quick question for you guys: is there anyway to get unlock to camera with the pin lock engaged on the Nexus S like the iOS implementation?
I have to say that iOS implementation of unlock to camera with pin lock is the best in business for the time being.
for those who haven't seen it: on the iOS implementation, when facing a pin locked screen, anyone can still unlock directly to camera and take photos. AND they can even browse the gallery but the gallery only allows access to the photos that are just taken (phone still locked).
it's even session based. the next time the phone locks again, the user can still unlock directly to camera and gallery like the last time, but the photos taken from the last session while the phone was still locked are now hidden and not shown. so each time the gallery only shows the photos the are just taken.
all photos, of course, are added to the gallery.
it's brilliant! is there any way to get something close to this on a custom ROM on a Nexus S?

This did not show it working with Pin Lock Screen though (as requested by op)...
I did have the video on mute due to being at work and might have missed him saying that it also works with pin lock screen...
It does work with pin lock. Saw a review from a guy at Google. Looks awesome. You can add the camera to one of the widgets. You can take pictures and view the pictures you just took. Upon switching to sleep mode and on again you can't see the pictures you just took.

My N5 was bought on 31.8.2014.
I broke my screen on 3.9.2014. (fell asleep with him in bed)
Just glass broke, nothing more. Everything was ok until today.
Full stock, updated on 5.1.1.
The problem first appeared today, on 14.06.2014. about 11:25 in morning. He was in my pocket and I was playing Belote, on table in the shade. I went on whatsapp and then N5 started to be very slow ~3s from typing password to whatsapp, then I reset him. The same scene has happen before this video. I can hear screenshot sound, but still got black screen. Also those screenshots are saved (I have few of them on my HDD, look a like normal screenshots of start screen).
Also, if I don't restart N5, he stays in same position for ~25mins.
I left him for 25mins and still same thing. N5 stays cold all the time.

My Brother had the same issue last week, and send it back and they said the device was broken, i think it was something on the mainboard. Today my Brother recieve a new N5

It's just strange that only now I got error. Like 10 monts later....
I have a few applications, one of them i usually use CamScanner. Of course, there is Office Lens, Google drive Scan, but something happened recently: i can no longer scan documents. The app openes with the camera, but when i press the photo button to take a picture, the app freezes for a few seconds then allows me to press again. (this happenes in CamScanner)
Office lens allows me to push but there is no picture taken to be scanned.
Google drive freezes as well for 1-2 seconds.
At first i thought: ok, i might have installed something, since the phone was rooted, TWRP installed (camera working!! i can take normal pictures), and messed up with the camera. Took the fastboot route and cleaned the rom again with a script, reinstalled the OS, all partitions (no exceptions), Data partition formated (backed up!): same thing. Installed both apps, none take pictures. This worked a few days ago, nothing much changed in between ( i might be subjective ). But on a clear phone?
I need to know what's going on...
Oh, something to add: for about 1-2 weeks, i have been having some strange movement on the screen with the gboard, appearing and re-appearing when i was trying to type, like some pixel was pressing on the screen on the right side, down. Some pixel on the touch screen pressing continuously? I dunno, nothing else is affected, i can write, take pictures and so on...
Right now it's not manifesting on the clean install...
That sounds strange. I am using mobile doc scanner from STOIK Soft without any problems (rooted, magisk, xposed). It also gives you the option to load existing images on your phone to load and edit.
Maybe try this and see if it works.
Tried the app, only works with the system camera, and not the camera from the app. I don't understand what's going on....
CamScanner works as well with system camera, but not the embedded one.

Are the problem solve? .. I have same problem here after upgrade to pie.. If I downgrade to oreo no problem to use scanner application.. I'm using avenger edition anyway..
Hi everyone! after the Android 10 update i tried to record or make screen captures but when i do it the picture it takes is completly blue, same whit the recording, the screen is always blue. i've taken a look to the permissions and all seem to be activated. I try with apps from the app store and they work perfectly. Someone know what happend?
