Help with S Health app - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Hi Guys,
I use Runkeeper to track my joggings which is also connected to S Health app.
What is happening is when I go to S Health I can view that a new activity from Runkeeper has been added but the calculations are incorrect, mainly the Average speed.
For example today I run 5,46kms in 32m15s and its marking the Average Speed of 11,1kms/h which is wrong.
Average speed is way less than that.
So either the SHealth as some sort or calculation error or is scrambling the imported data.

I have reported the error via Samsung app but the reply looks like a copy/paste one, e.g., log off account, clear app cache, etc etc bla bla bla that doesn't solve the situation.
Any suggestions to solve this?
I was planning to buy the Samsung Gear s3 watch for daily driver but mainly to enjoy S Health at full extent, but since the app is
incoherent I'm holding horses....
Thanks

Got GPS enabled while you're running?
I don't think the health app is very accurate with anything tbh, I log my meals, protein, carbs etc, when I enter what I've eaten and drank, it'll say something like 300g protein, when I click on details to see what gave me that protein it'll have numbers that don't add up to 300g
Same with distance walked, I know how far I've walked but the app doesn't get it right a lot of the time
I use it for estimates / guidelines rather than accuracy

Off course m8 ??
I have GPS and data + Bluetooth as I also use the bluetooth headset to hear radio while I'm on activity.
But the SHealth is importing the data from Runkeeper which is accurate therefore this makes no sense...

[Q] Help with new battery drain issue

Hi there,
Over the past week or so I have noticed that my battery is going down a LOT faster than usual...
The culprit is "gpsd" that is using upwards of 30% of my battery every charge...
I have looked through everything that uses the gps and it's all either off or not using it.
How do I find out who / what is keeping gpsd going and make it play nice, or die?

Definition - gpsd*is a daemon that receives data from a GPS receiver, and provides the data back to multiple applications such as Kismet or GPS navigation software. It thus provides a unified interface to receivers of different types, and allows concurrent access by multiple applications.
Workarounds - Look for every GPS associated application on your device. Make sure to switch off GPS.
Go to Settings, then to Application Manager or Apps. And find the GPS associated apps, open them and force stop them. Sometimes they auto run and can cause battery drains.
Tell me how this goes for you.
Sent from my Nexus 5
All apps that need location services disabled / uninstalled and it's still there...
Okay...
Just wiped and re-flashed rom... no apps installed aside from BetterBatteryStats and GPSD is still there...
Maybe time to find something other than Omega

[APP] GPS Drag Racer FREE

Hi guys,
I just made my first Android app and I'll really appreciate it if you gentleman can give it a whirl and provide feedback, here or on the Play Store.
The app uses your GPS to clock your acceleration and top speed.
How does it work?
Switch on GPS
Open app,
Wait for GPS to lock, and stand completely still
Then, do a drag race to record your best:
0-60km/h time
0-100km/h time
Quarter mile time
Top speed
Stand still again to reset the clock. Repeat as many times as you'd like - the app will automatically only save your best times.
I would really appreciate if you can install my app, test it and rate it (in app, play store, or here).
My two main concerns now are:
How accurately the GPS works on different devices. I myself have tested on Samsung Galaxy S4 upwards, and LG2 upwards. The LG's couldn't get an accurate enough GPS lock. Please use the Rate page in the app to rate your GPS accuracy - I get then get your rating plus the device model you used.
The legality of the app, and the likelihood of being sued if there is an accident. I do have an in-app disclaimer that the user needs to accept before using the app.
iOS version coming soon, and I know the UI still needs lots of work.

missing (unsynced) workout

I have Gear S3 and Galaxy S8. They are paired and working well. However, I did a bike ride today which I can see on my watch. I can even share it to Facebook from my watch. However, it does not show in S-healh app on the phone! I can see steps taken on the phone synced from S3 (it shows "Gear S3" as a source on the phone) but my cycling workout is nowhere to be found!
Few details:
I manually start recording ride like this:

"lightbox_share": "Share",

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The workout shows in Health app log on my watch:
But not on the phone:
Meanwhile, I can see steps, synced from my watch on the pone (note "Gear S3" as the source in the screenshot below):
If there is a way to force sync this workout from watch to the phone? How I can prevent this from happening again?
Please help, as this is the critical functionality for me and I will not be able to use the watch unless I make this work!
Talked to Samsung support and after clearing S-Health app data and cache on the phone past workouts were successfully synced!
Had a same problem, you saved me
Thanks

Question Custom data logging frequency on GW4

Hello,
I want to use the GW4 for research purposes. I need to collect Heart Rate data at a maximum possible (binning) frequency.
I have been wearing around my watch for a few months now, and have decided to explore what is the quality of the data that comes from it, and either I am missing something or it's just really bad. Even though I set my watch to gather data continuously, on some days it seems to just save the HR data for every 1 hour. I dont like this, because if the watch is allegedly able to continuously log HR, I want it to save these values at a sufficient data density, say 5 minutes.

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The graph shows that the watch has a propensity to only save values for the end of the hour, and seems to not save the rest of the values. How do I set up a custom protocol for how often data is saved? Is there available tools that manage the way in which data is stored, the logging frequency, and even an automatic transfer protocol?
Thanks, wish you a nice day!
I want to give an update on this: I should have spent another 5 minutes looking at the folder structure before posting here - the watch saves heart rate values at 1 minute resolution in json files which are in a separate folder from the .csv - which is pretty cool. Parsing the json fields yields a much more substantial count of logentries.
*the y-label on these graphs should be 'heart_rate_log_counts' because these are histograms
Cheers
