Hi,
Can anyone suggest a powerbank that will support the HiSilicon Quick Charge for Honor 8. I am unable to find one online.
Probably won't find one unless it's made by Huawei - their fast charger uses proprietary technology that has not yet been licensed to 3rd party manufacturers. But any Qualcomm QC2 or QC3 powerbank will still charge your device fairly quickly due to the higher voltage rating. Just don't expect it to 100% match Huawei's charging speeds.

Just FYI folks, there are 3 PBs so far that support HFCP (Huawei Fast Charge): Honor's own AP08Q (the one linked above), the Yaobao Q12 and the Elephone Thunder.
I have both the Honor AP08Q and the Yaobao Q12 and they both work as advertised for Fast Charging with my Honor 8. The Q12 is built out of cheap plastics and feels shoddy though, at least compared to Honor's first party solution, but it has 2 charging ports vs 1 on the AP08Q.
Theres also the anecdotal evidence that he newer gen-2 Xiaomi thin 10000mAh TYPE-C PB might support HFCP, but I only have the gen-1 model and is thus unable to confirm this.

I usually go for non branded units of eBay they are simply cheaper. But having a look at your two choices I'd recommend the Anker Astro Pro 14400mAh. Neither on the Amazon page nor the Samsung product page could I find the the output amps for the Samsung. For most modern devices you need to have a 2A output. The Anker clearly states that it has
2 x USB 5V 2A (special circuit design for Apple and Samsung Galaxy Tab)

I got an Anker 13000 portable power pack. It works slick.
+1 for anker...i have the 10000 model and it's great, and their support is awesome
I was just reading about the top 5 most popular external battery packs over on Life HAcker and the Anker was the most popular among users polled.
I'd post a link but I'm still in noob status.
8A/h should be good enough for Note 8. More than that only increases the overall weight.
This from amazon great, too.
DEFINITELY get the Samsung. It's much more compact and better made than the others, you won't regret getting it.
Here is another option @ 15600mAh for about $149

Never hurts to have more power...plus you can charge more than one device at the same time.

Battery Pack,
20 000 mAh would be pretty nice.

I have an hour and a half to make my decision, no USB-C SUCKS on the Honor 6X. I am torn between each as I have not seen either phone in person. Opinions?
I think you're the same person from reddit? hehe
Honor 6X: Better build quality, slimmer design, more color options, will likely be much more popular due to the Huawei brand presence
Blade V8 Pro: Better specs on paper - USB Type C, AC/5ghz wifi, NFC, 4k video
Honor 6x have NFC and giro, and old USB mains a lot of cable and charger sitting on the tables. I have mine from a couple of days and I feel happy, long lasting battery, good reception. Camera is not top.

It has nfc? You sure? Huawei Support on Amazon.com said "No"
Honor 6x doesn't have NFC as far as I know...
I think you get Honor, since it's a bigger brand than Blade and possibly get future development support.
Personally, I would rather get the Honor 8 as it is a flagship spec device. But the Honor 6X isn't too shabby in terms of performance when compared to other devices at the same price range.

Agree with you. In China, at the same price range with 3G/32G 6X, I can get an used Nexus 5X. With 4G/64G price, I can get an used Nexus 6P. What would be your choice?

I'd still get the Honor 8 as the Kirin 950 SOC is a beast!
Hello,
I'm trying to find, on the net, an official charger for my Honor 8 Pro to enjoy fast charging.
The Anker IQ I bought only works with Snapdragon processor.
I made a search package but difficult to unravel the true from the fake. I found this one, it says Qualcomm but I have a doubt because it seems to be an official Huawei charger that uses Kirin processors.
Can you help me find my happiness?
Thank you in advance.
As per the rumors, Oneplus 7 will sticks with ac wifi standard. What you guys think about Oneplus 7 pro?
I thought the sd855 had ax built in? If not and its going to be ac, not a big deal for me as ax is new and the adoption rate will take a while.
It's ax-ready, it should be compatible but i have no idea if Oneplus is going to support it

Snapdragon 855 had different variants, Some processor of 855 still have ac and higher variant of the processor has ax it seems.
Why create a poll for this? We don't know cos OnePlus hasn't announced this, although other phones with the same chipset will have ax but the gsmarena page for the OnePlus 7 Pro shows "Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac"
I did message Carl and Pete on Twitter but didn't get an answer.

Yes, Snapdragon 855 had builtin ax standard. But I saw in GSM arena, it's still in ac. I didn't read any leaks about this, If oneplus 7 pro will have wifi6, It would be good.

Can't really trust GSM arena at the moment. Yesterday it showed under Sound 3.5mm Jack= yes. Today it shows no. Also under COMMS, USB it shows 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. I read in a few places it was confirmed to have USB 3.1 Type-C.

GSM arena is completely unreliable and with many devices writing wrong specs.
For example the most resent example is Oppo Reno 10x Zoom that has stereo speakers as well type c 3.1 version and GSM arena still after a month announced and didn't update the real specs.

No WiFi 6 would be a big oversight / bad decision.
On their website it says AC.
I just got my K20 Pro 8/256GB and it only came with the 18w charger.
i"ve seen on many reviews on Youtube that they get the 27w in the box (ie, Unbox Therapy).
Did Xiaomi change it or did i just got scammed? Thank you.

Comes with 18W as standard. Maybe phones specifically sent out to reviewers had a 27W charger included, just to help get a better review. I'm not aware that they've sold any standard models with a 27W charger.
Most of the Youtube Reviewers ( Unbox Therapy) got k20 pro from china. In China, they will include 27w in the box itself if you pay some extra bugs
In china they charge some extra amount to give 27w charger but on other regions they only provide 18w in the box and if you want 27w then buy separate from their store.

As far as I'm aware, that's unofficial, and involves the seller opening the box and swapping the standard charger with the 27W Xiaomi charger. When I got my Chinese K20 Pro that certainly wasn't an official option, but I've not looked recently, so it could be an official option now.
its included only in K20 pro premium edition.. the 12gb ram and 512gb version.
What wattage charger is this ?

Odd ,I thought 27 watt charger was a standard issue for k20 pro China set , guess it just support it but k20 doesn't ?
Where can I buy original 27W charger for this phone? Or any of them will work?
