How to add APT-X in my Xiaomi mi5? - General Questions and Answers

Hello guys, I've found a website that says how to install the functionality APT-X in my Xiaomi mi5.
BUT, they just say using Cyanogenmod-LineAgeOS.
I've asked them, if it is possible to install (without problem) in my original xiaomi mi5, but I'm using MIUI official version 8.2 stable.
So in a nutshell, I wanna know how to install the APT-X in my xiaomi mi5 while using Android 7 by MIUI 8.2.2 stable.
What is APT-X? - It is a functionality that provides a better connection with bluetooth earphones, headphones, headset etc. It helps a lot.
And recently I've bought a Meizu EP-51 earphone, that has APT-X. but my xiaomi does no have :crying:

The Fastboot ROMs from Xioami (1) gemini_global_images_MIUI8_v7.6.8_7.0_global (Nougat) and (2) gemini_global_images_8.10.18_20181018.0000.00_8.0 (oreo Beta but working stable on my phone) both are having native Aptx support

[petition] 24bit/192khz Hi-Res Audio not supported on Mi A1: petition on xiaomi forum

did you know that the Xiaomi MI A1 has no Hi-Res Audio compatibility?
as seen on this thread on the official poweramp forum seems to be that Xiaomi did not add the latest qualcomm patch that makes possible to use Poweramp V3 with 24bit/192khz audio quality.
actually there is a petition thread on the official Xiaomi forum but we lack of votes to make developers know this issue.
note: maybe this is due to qualcomm royalties or patents like with QuickCharge but in this case the hardware is totally aviable to this function even more some custom roms have the patch included
i hope that with this post more people vote for this petition so this way users with stock rom can have a better audio experience on this device

which version of poweramp v3 are you using? 709 or 790?
Hi-res audio makes absolutely no difference to how music sounds, it's pure snake oil. Don't waste your time on this.
Don't be taken in by marketing gimmicks about higher resolution: it means nothing. Instead, watch the full pair of Monty explanations of the technical details of when bits and frequencies matter and when they don't.

Certainly not everyone notice the difference but some people myself included can hear the quality diferences, also even if its not a necessary feature this may be usefull for custom roms that want to have a focus on audio quality, also when using the "fake" hd mode on poweramp the sound goes worse and certainly everybody can notice that.

What headphones do you use with this phone that you are able to spot the difference between 16b/48kHz and 24b/192kHz?

You can you USB Audio Player Pro on custom rom like GZOSP or LineageOS 15.1 to get 192kHz/24bit direct to headphone.

Don't believe in usb audio player pro info. You should launch Terminal application, use "dumpsys media.audio_flinger" ater "su" to check the output like my attachment when it's playing.

the idea it's to have the feature on stock android, custom roms are great on fixing manufacturer software errors/mistakes, but not everyone want to loose warranty/screw their phones.
I'll try to gather more votes for this. But to be real, developers are too lazy to fix and add features since this is like an illegitimate child of Xiaomi and Google and they are more focused with MIUI phones.
Kindly also link in OP the link for discussion in Mi A1 subforum so someone can ressurect that thread.

You got right ! Lol 48 in output.
Due to the very powerful amp the a1 has i dont notice any "serious" difference comparing it with my mx4pro with fiio a5 amp that supports 24/192 (tested with the command you told me). Using sennheiser hd600.

Android OS Serious UI Problem !! Or I'm just a Noob ;_;

*Youtube Video of the problem*

So I have just upgraded to my new device Redmi K20 Pro(Miui 11 android 10).
And everything is going well.
Today I experienced a weird bug :-
When I connected the device to my Bluetooth Headphones ( Yeah i have two, and tried both of them).
The Current UI that was on Screen (Facebook Feed/Instagram Feed / Web Page) gets refreshed for no reason !!
Why !?
I was using COOLPAD NOTE 5(Coolui 8 , android 6) before and that too had the same issue, but I lived with that thinking it might be my device's bug (since CN5 has no development at all, and the manufacturer company was already dead).
I also tried on Asus Zenfone Ma Pro M1 (Pie Stock), and things were the same).
So today I came to a conclusion that it must be an issue with the Android OS !
Does anyone else noticed it ? And you know if why is this even happening ?

Unable to pair with Samsung Watch Active 2

Hi
Need help to pair my samsung watch active 2 with my new K30 Pro (MIUI 12). Tried all the suggestion from Samsung help forum without success.
Pairing with my Poco F1 is still good though(using Havoc v3.6). So it's not the watch problem
Wondering if it's compatibility issue.
Appreciate some help or directions to get it working..
For those who may be interested.
I got my Samsung Watch Active 2 paired with my K30 Pro after switching to the stable eu rom.
Got it paired in the 1st try. So it's the chinese ROM that is the problem. Probably some security settings somewhere.
Not firmware related it syncs fine with my chinese rom mi mix 3 and k20 pro

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Bluetooth rejected pairing to Sony wh ch700n headphone

Need help! "Bluetooth rejected pairing"
Please someone with experience tell me how can I solve the Bluetooth pairing problem on Xiaomi Mi Note 10. I couldn't find any specific description like "yeah this worked for me".
The headphone is working perfectly with other phones and even with laptops.
Tried to pair with my Sony wh ch700n headphone with no success. Every time shows "Rejected pairing". Turned on developer options, tried with several extra Bluetooth settings there, but no luck so far.
Read about 30 articles on Google, but most off them was bs or just with factory reset tips. Nothing useful.
Which rom? Maybe help to reset the Bluetooth app

Just got system update, but still can't pair my headphone which worked perfectly before with my old Redmi Note 7
Mi Note 10 system:
MIUI 11.1.2
Android 10 QKQ1
Also updated the headphone firmware to version 4.5.2 from the Redmin Note 7 through bluetooth transfer. Connected successfully with the redmi, music was good. Then tried to unpair and pair again but got the same "Rejected by headphone" error message.
Tomorrow I'll bring it into the office and try to connect from my collegs phones to my Sony headphone.
The other thing that I found my old MI band which I can now connect and seems like works fine.
Any news on this? I am very curious as I am about to purchase new smartphone and I need to know if Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (pro) can pair with my Sennheiser wireless without any issues

Hi! Yes, its got sorted out.
I had to pair the bluetooth using nfc. I mean its working fine after I tried this type of pairing. Looks like when both devices has nfc then I have to use it.
Ah, I see. The same thing happened to me once. I believe it was on my Moto Z Play. Thanks for info.

IR blaster doesn't work on Xiaomi mi note 10 with MIUI 12

Hello,Recently I have bought Mi Note 10 global edition and I spoted that IR Blaster doesn't work at all. Once I bought it, stright away I updated the phone to the newest MIUI 12 version and now I am not sure, if it worked or not with the older version.
I tried use the original MI remote control app and my device which I wanna to control doesn't response. I tried to check phone's IR Blaster with my old phone's camera and it doesn't make any light while I am using any of Remote control apps.
I tried to find some information from the internet. However, nobody hasn't complained about that. So this feature is not very popular or there is only issue with my unit. If somebody had or has experience with same or similar issue, please share your solution. Thank you in advance.
