It seems that there is a problem with driver. So, reinstall driver again and reboot your PC. And ALWAYS use older flashtool versions, like v0.9.18.4 . If the problem still exists and if you are using windows 10, please test it again with windows 7 or 8.1, since windows 10 has some issues with XL driver

Hello,
I have the same problem, now I have installed a custom rom but I want change to the original rom (FTF).
But for other things this drivers and application works fine, and now not? I don't understand..., it's the same computer, only difference is the rom.

Try these steps:
-uninstall drivers
-reboot PC
-install drivers and reboot again (google for latest XL drivers)
-Check that you are using flashtool v0.9.18.4 !!!
-Flash ftf ROM again
-If it fails, try flashing Generic version of ROM
-If it fails, try flashing only system and kernel of ROM in flashtool
-If it doesn't help, try testing with older windows like 7 or 8 (because XL drivers work fine in older windows -_-)
-If nothing helped, well... Just use another custom ROM!

Yesterday I flashed my Xperia J with FXP223, everything was ok except that I have no network, and my IMEI was gone.
I've found that I have to flash my phone with an ICS stock rom and reflash with FXP223.
But i can't flash my phone in flash mode.
I followed all instructions, Flashtool -> flash mode -> select .ftf rom -> plug my phone in flash mode when asked, green led is OK -> and then the flash freeze at "Flashing data" and at the same time my green led shutdown.

Did you install the drivers from the flashtool folder? If not that may very well be your problem.

Flashtool-drivers.exe doesn't have drivers for Xperia J, I've tested to manually import J drivers with that method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41592930&postcount=15 but doesn't work too.
Sony companion recognize my phone (when I test to recover my phone it says that my phone has been modified, but it recognize the phone)
I don't know what to do

Did you install the fastboot and flashmode drives from the setup as you may need them too. I think it would be worth it to install all of the drivers from the driver setup folder. If you try that and then that method after I think it should work.

Install flashmode drivers with Flashtool-drivers.exe
Launch it.
Import ST26 drivers in flashtool (search ST26.zip on google)
Connect the Xperia J in flashmode to automatically install the windows drivers.
When complete disconnect the Xperia J.
In Flashtool -> flashmode -> select a stock .ftf rom -> flash -> connect the xperia in flashmode when asked. Yeah it flash.
I insist that on this PC, I have never installed SEUS, PC companion or others software or drivers.

It is good to hear you got it working. I've just noticed you previously said you tried to repair your phone in PC companion. That would have stopped it working too. I'm sorry I didn't pick that up sooner.

Remove SIM Card, MMC & then flash! Also, note that sometimes flashing doesn't work after you resume from Standby/Hibernate mode in PC.

My suggestions:
Reinstall required drivers on your PC with Sony PC companion.
It is available on Sony 's official site approx size 27 mb.
Are you able to boot the phone after incomplete flashing???

post log of flashtool as you did before
It is due to drivers
If you are using Win 8 you need to install an update which supports Flashmode and fastboot drivers
otherwise just restart your pc/laptop by using "Advance Reboot" option in settings
And choose Disable Signature verification when pc/laptop boots into advance menu.
This solved my problem. Hope yours is also solved.
Use USB 2.0 port to flash. U cannot flash if you connect to USB 3.0.

Ok guys, so, let me tell you two things before I start. 1: sorry if my English might sound weird, not a native speaker. 2: I've read almost every thread in the whole internet about this sort of issue, but none seem to have the solution for my case.
I wanted to install a custom ROM on my Xperia L to unlock its true potential, but I noticed that I can't get Wi-Fi to work on ANY of all the roms I tried (Resurrection Remix, CM11 and three different builds of CM12 and 12.1). From what I read here, it looks like that if I restore the latest version of my stock firmware - seems like the one I had before modding wasn't the latest - I'll be able to get wifi to work, even if I install a custom rom.
The problem is that I just can't restore the .ftf. I'm using Flashtool 0.9.19.8 - I would like to avoid installing the whole bunch of android.sdk stuff (of course, unless it's strictly necessary) - and everytime I try to flash it, I get this:

I'm starting to get crazy.
Also, I have another problem, which is not strictly related to this one but I would like to solve.
I flashed TWRP recovery 3.0.0. And it gives me problems of every sort.
When I flash it from Flashtool and then unplog the usb cable and turn on the phone it boots, but the screen flickers as hell and everytime the left and the right half of the screen invert, so sometimes I even press the wrong buttons.
Then, when I try to boot the phone in recovery mode it just bootloops, it freezes at the Teamwin Recovery boot screen. So everytime I need to use recovery I just have to remove the battery, put it in again and flash boot.img again from Flashtool.
I tried to flash other recoveries (Philz and CWM) over it, but I just can't. I'm stuck with TWRP 3.0.0. I don't know how to do it.
I'm starting to get desperate here. I modded Samsung and Nexus devices until now, I never knew that modding Xperia could be so damn tricky. Please, help me!!
I'm very thankful to all of you who will be so kind to help me get out of this situation and even to those that will just try to answer.

UPDATE:
I managed to switch to CWM recovery 6.0 but actually I can't install any rom, I get installation aborted. I suppose the recovery has no compatibility with the roms I try to install. I returned to TWRP, even if it flickers and can't boot properly at least I can flash a rom.
I tried to change the .ftf, the one I tried before wasn't actually the latest. But the problem remains the same, same log, flashing aborted.
And obviously, still no wifi. I'm desperate. I dunno what to do.
Wait a second, 15.0.A.2.17 isn't the newest version. It's 15.3.A.1.17.
I'm not sure if it will change anything, but get an FTF of that version and try again.
For your recovery: TWRP is known for flickering on our device. Try the TWRP FOTA-Recovery, I'm using that and there are no flickers. For your recovery: TWRP is known for flickering on our device. Try the TWRP FOTA-Recovery, I'm using that and there are no flickers. Thank you for answering but I finally solved it on my own, I was gonna update my thread right before you answered! You are right, the latest one is the one you mentioned! I found it out on my own but even that couldn't solve my problem
Than I tried to install an older version of flashtool (0.9.11.0) instead of using the most recent, and that did the whole thing! I could flash the stock rom and it worked! And, somehow, that allowed me to install any custom rom and any ROM I want I'm currently running Philz recovery and CM12.1!!

I am trying to flash stock firmware to my xperia j because my sim doesn't work on custom rom. However when i try to flash i get this error rocessing of loader.sin finished with errors.

I have installed all the drivers and i have tried to bundle loader.sin with the ftf. I am trying to restore either to an ics stock rom or the latest. What can i do?

Well my phone boots up ok to a flashed rom (no SIM card detection unfortunately ) and when i connect it to my pc i check the drivers with flashtool and they seem to be ok. I have also tried with multiple ftf files and i have redownloaded many times... :crying:

I have the baseband uknown, IMEI vanished problem and i have read that you must downgrade to ICS before flashing any rom to solve this problem but i can't flash neither ICS or JB. I can flash custom roms from my recovery unfortunately i don't have sim support
you can try custom rom jb based, like seraphic ,

I have flashed multiple jb based roms. Many of them (including seraphic) instructs to downgrade to ICS first which i can't.....

well i flashed seraphic 7 and now despite getting my sim recognized it always tells me that unfortunately android.process.acore has stopped. this can only be stopped if i disable contacts storage which breaks the phone functionality. I had the same outcome with avd rom. It seems also that seraphic depends on the firmware you previously had because it seems it doesn't completely install itself. i ended up having my previous rom with the seraphic reason for no reason.

Well i partially solved this problem. I managed to flash seraphic and it works. However the main problem perists. I am unable to flash with flashtool. Thanks for the help my phone is now working again.

Well, this topic about Can't flash stock firmware. So, there's no problem! I use an older Sony Mobile flasher by Androxyde Version 0.9.18.5 . So, I flashed with less errors by launching FlashTool.exe (not FlashTool64.exe . FlashTool64.exe can cause some errors when ur pc is 32 bit). Tested with XPERIA E and XPERIA J but works flawlessly! Amazing!. So here is the log on using latest FlashTool 0.9.23.2

I'm trying to downgrade my xz from 8.0 to 7.1.1
The flash tool I 'm using is 0.9.24.4 and 0.9.28.0. I had already unlock the bootloader pf my xperia xz, all the drivers had be setup.
When I try to connect my phone to my PC it always shows the following situation :

I had check that there is no problem with my cable. So I had tried the other version. On 0.9.23.0.
Everything is the same, but in 0.9.23.0 it shows the following:

I had also tried 0.9.18.6, and I think it's too old and doesn't work for XZ.
Can anyone help me!! PLEASE!!!

Are you using win8.1? In that release, the driver always gives errors I switched to Windows 10, and i've improved this error
