Sure, it'll give less time for root cGroup and a bit more for background one. I also provided some docs in first post, so you can read what they affect.

Sure, why not.
If you check
Code:
/dev/cpuctl/tasks
you can see PIDs (process IDs) of all the task which device started.
Parameters from above controls how much time can one of the tasks from the list access to the CPU resources. In our case it's 0.8s out of every 1s, and for backround its 0.7s out of every 1s.
Got it?
We can also increase it too for future testing.

Not quite. Is this to reduce the overall cpu load, where certain tasks could hog the cpu? In effect, improving performance and battery life? Will you be releasing alphas to test? Do you want our device defaults are?
Thanks
so this is my battery stats since i was running the script, the screen-on-time sux (yea i know, maybe this is due kernel that i flashed lol) standby time is just like before which is great. i noticed no lag, and maybe this phone is processing task little faster so it cost my screen-on-time?

T-Mobile has just released Device Tune-up for open beta testing. This is a new feature in the My Accounts app from T-Mobile. It’s essentially a task killer that aims to improve on your phones performance and it should help your battery last longer by killing apps that run in the background.

Sounds interesting enough.

Welcome to the Device Tune-up Beta - Info and FAQ's [ Edited ]
Options
06-11-2010 03:29 PM - last edited on 06-15-2010 02:34 PM
Background:
T-Mobile is continually looking for ways to bring new innovation to our customers. Within the My Account application, we are adding new functionality in the My Device section called Device Tune-up. Device Tune-up is built to run in the background at all times and ‘tune-up’ the device by closing unused services that are running.
Device Tune-up is different from most task killers because it does not require you to do anything. Device Tune-up will default to 'on'. While on, Device Tune-up proactively closes services to help the device and battery perform at their best. Most pre-loaded applications will not be affected by Device Tune-up. For our non-technical users, this may mean you never even realize Device Tune-up is running; your device may simply run better.
Getting Help & Providing Feedback:
Do not contact Customer Care for help or feedback regarding the Device Tune-up Beta.
We are looking for as much feedback as we can get! If you need any help at all, please post any questions, issues or suggestions you have in our Device Tune-up Beta board. We will do our best to help you as quickly as we can.
Requirements:
This beta will work on all T-Mobile Android devices running 2.1 and below. If installed on a device using 2.2, the you may see the My Device BETA icon but you will not have the Device Tune-up functionality.
This beta has not been tested on any devices running custom software outside of T-Mobile approved versions. It is recommended you do not install this beta if you are running a custom ROM.
Ready to get started?
NOTE: This beta has incomplete Spanish translations. If installed on a device using Spanish you will only get some translations.
Thanks for your participation in the BETA!!

Yes guys...! Finally problem is solved guys. I got one paid app on market 'ram manager' which has special features to control ur ram. Especially it has option for multitasking with non killing apps. Means u can now multitask & still ur apps will run in background until you choose it to close. I have tested it since 1 hour. I have opened gallary, ucbrowser, opera mobile & go launcher (above mentioned every app is so much ram hungry app). And I am amazed that even after 1 hour all apps are still opened. Its really so amazing guys Really its a worth app.
Here is link of that app.

I am really fed up of this problem. I surf alot xda using opera. Opera mobile nearly take 30-40 mb ram. So for me I get nearly 130-140 mb free ram. But even though when I try to open some other apps then automatically android closes opera. So I have to reopen it. No problem in re-opening an app but then it start to load links which I have been surfing which really annoying me ::
I want simple multi tasking like nokia which keep open every app until u choose it to close it. I am really impressed with multi tasking of nokia.
Can anybody provide a solution, app or script or anything which will KEEP APP IN OPEN STATE until I choose it to close it ?? I searched on net. I found same complaints on net related to android muti tasking...!!! I dont use any task killer app.

try this. I don't know if it's only the paid version that allows exempting, but it's worth a shot. once you go into the processes, you can click the browser specifically and click to change it from "excluded (no)" to "excluded (yes)". this should make it exempt from android's method of memory recovery (not a task killer app)
Are you using this? Try disabling it and see what happens.
You can do it from terminal emulator:
Code:
su
chmod -x /system/etc/init.d/S95allinone
and if you want to re-enable it:
Code:
su
chmod +x /system/etc/init.d/S95allinone
(reboot your phone of course)

Sorry to bump an old thread, but has anyone actually found a solution to this problem? I've tried supercharger, minfree manager, RAM manager pro, and Galaxy Tuner. Is this at all fixable?

Sorry I forgot to follow up, a solution has been found after many hours of searching: using the "Xposed app settings" add-in for the Xposed Framework will let you whitelist applications from Android's "banhammer of destruction" and it works particularly well on devices with little free ram.

If you had read the thread, you'd see that I already shared that Xposed App Settings is the only solution.
I've found a new way to BLOCK ANY permission for android applications! Successfully tested denial on few different kind of permissions!
It's a great news for me, and prossibly to any of you too.
The application will be completely native except user interaction part (GUI), so lightning fast, and will have access virtually to any permission granted by apk itself. There will be much logic included to ease of use for unexperienced users, but also the advanced mode which will reveal all the system level functions/data. Advanced iptables control will probably be included also at the later development stages.
Any developer experienced with NDK + SDK is kindly asked to contact me.
PS. This thread WILL be the thread for the application itself. I expect to make first alpha's in two months or earlier.

I cannot check this on every app available (for obvious reasons), but I suppose most of them will work. We'll see after first alpha, I'll check it on my own app set which is rather big (the main reason LBE and PDroid buth fails - too much CPU overhead).
UPDATE: Removing unreliable info. Shame on me for reposting smth before fact checking.
Privacy Blocker is the app with patching apk method, not the Stericson' one.

I am asking because of the same software niche not because of the same principle of operation. If your application solves the same task/problem with less overhead - that's good. We'll see.
BTW is your app must be run in background all the time?
If yes what will be the effect if your program terminates on error or is closed by external application?

When using the ram booster and cache eraser, can you explain how this works because the way android works is to fill ram and cache up so the app opens quicker. I just find it confusing..
