Is it possible? I am annoyed that it only works with Samsung Music and all the rest have to rely on the typical ugly notification controls. I was hoping something like this would be possible: https:// www.xda-developers.com/how-to-add-third-party-music-apps-emui-lock-screen/

Musixmatch I believe has this feature and player pro does I'm not sure if any others do though but will keep an eye out

First we need to find if it's an API that allows for full screen widgets on the UI or is it's an app specific thing or both. If you replace S7's Samsung Music with S8's you get the updated look (that also is not matching the aspect ratio of S7 so it's a bad idea to do) which makes me think it might be a combination of things, like there is an API that allows such thing and the app is responsible what will be projected in the end.

Nice! My only issues with both of them is that their implementations is fiddly and they don't support gapless playback. Music Pro says it does but it fails to in a terrible way.

You can check out BlackPlayer Pro on PlayStore. I've been using it on every phone that I had, isntead of the stock music player. There is a free version and there is a pro version which costs about 2 dollars I think, totally worth it though. It also has built in tag editor, option to download album art etc. And you can edit the way it shows the notification on the lock screen (only you'll have to buy the pro version for that). Would not change it for a thing!

so i was wondering if a lock screen music player could be ported over to the t.f. like everyone has on the galaxy s phones i like to be able to play music from the lock screen and not have to unlock everytime i want to change a song possibly a flashable .zip file or something that would be awesome thanks
i'm kind of thinking (probably incorrectly) that this is a limitation of 3.x
oh google, you and your half baked products! :\

Could you please post a link of what your are talking about? I have the Epic and don't have the feature, or atleast that I'm aware of....
i have the galaxy s and on there lock screens it integrates controls for the music player, when locked if you activate the screen you pull down on the cd image at the top and controls for the player appear, very good feature tbh

I know PowerAMP offers locksceen controls(Not turned on by default, can be turned on in the menu)
But I just tried to use poweramp on my transformer and while the application opens and finds all my music, it does not play any music. I am using the same music that is on my phone, and I use poweramp on that and my music plays just fine.
It is a paid app, but they offer a 2 week trial before you pay anything. I would give it a try if I were you, maybe it is something on my end that is causing the music files to not play.
Use fly screen for tablets for lock screen controls for any app/widget just like widget locker. Execpt Fly screen for tablets is for tablets
works great, just make sure you dont' have a lock/pattern/pin/password on your TF otherwise you have to unlock your tab 2x
setups a little confusing, but i'll try and help if you need any

No, its a skin placed on Samsung and its integrated to their own music player app, HTC does the same thing. Neither the lock screen or the player's integration have anything to do with google. As stated there are applications that include their own integration but Google's music player does not.

Unfortunately there is a bug in Transformer ROM which prevents PowerAMP from scanning folders. This will be addressed in next PowerAMP update.
Thanks for the report!

design choice?
Wouldn't it make more sense to show the entire album artwork rather than leaving half the screen blank? Or am I the only one who feels that way?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
I agree. I think it looks really ugly. There is room, so why not show the full album art.

I don't suppose there is any way to edit the app to change this?

+1. Feel the same way. If not the fullscreen album artwork (or whatever shenanigans they could do) we deserve the rest of the space being wallpaper or something other than a black empty screen.
Ahah, I agree with you, looks kind of weird. o:
I have gotten use to it now. It doesn't look that bad I suppose. I still wish they used the screen better. I think they made it like this to match the calling menu. It looks very similar to the screen I get when somebody calls me. So maybe it's to make the UI more constant?
i think this is an example of effective use of whitespace to separate the unlock section from the player controls.
This allows the user to have more functionality in one screen without compromise the content. So you get your album artwork + player controls + your 2 or 4 way unlock menu in an uncluttered layout.
Good design choice IMO
Excellent choice of music, by the way.
poweramp has a really good music lockscreen with not just the normal play/pause and forward/backward controls, but also with star ratings and shuffle/repeat controls i think
Perhaps its so that it also displays correctly when using pattern lock?
wow that's actually pretty clever O.O

Now that is the first good answer to this question. That must be it.
Still, I would think they would employ a better solution that this. Either allow the album artwork to take up space based on the unlock screen you are using, or have an entirely different lockscreen like other music players.

As much as I'm a Google fanboy, I'll admit that they do have a tendancy to half ass things. There could be a good reason or the engineer could have been simply distracted by a humorous T-shirt.

Fans of custom ROMs may already know that there’s a rewritten version of the standard Android music app coming to CyanogenMod 9. Well, the wait’s over, and you can download an alpha version of “Apollo” now.
Click here for the APK file – you don’t even have to be rooted, just install it via the standard non-Market method. Unfortunately, you still need an ICS device to use it. Source : Android Central

Apollo takes quite a lot of inspiration from Google Music, though there’s currently no way to actually access your music stored in the cloud. The interface has a lot in common with Google’s own player, though the color scheme is an off white.
Theme support is planned for the project. At present there’s not a whole lot that Apollo can do that even older versions of the default music player can’t, with the notable exception of a built-in equalizer.
One of the more glaring omissions is the lack of a landscape mode, a big disappointment to anyone who listens to music while their phone is in a car dock. Even so, it should be a solid alternative when it’s finished – lockscreen controls are already enabled, I will suggest you to give it a try if you’re looking for something a little different in your music player.
I hope that still the issues get sorted out soon.
There are already many things that need to change and the more I use it, the longer the list becomes.
Nice alternative to the stock music player, it's "recently added" tracks view is a nice feature when you're adding tons of music a day ^_^
I can't get it to work via AVRCP and the bluetooth in my car, but that may be a ROM limitation because no other app will work either >_>
Why don't they support Android 2.3 like Google play music :/

My bad just saw it on the site after I posted this comment already.
Really excited about the app finally some real super app for music: D
I used it for a couple months before it was rebranded Apollo, the dev never updated it, and it was buggy as hell. Now they took away the holo blue theme? Probably so they can release it as a paid add-on. FAIL. There are half a dozen better music apps than this.
Thanks for your sharing..

Glad to hear that, I currently only own a couple of phones, so I haven't had the opportunity to test on a tablet - so thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it. One of my current priorities is to provide a better layout for tablets (no promises), the current one is pretty much only optimized for phones. If there is any setting, or feature you would like to see implemented or improved, feel free to suggest it.
I'm on a 7 inch tablet so not much bigger then a s4 or note...I think the layout is fine for my screen size...Also I will leave feedback on the play store later after work

Sadly *.ts not recognized as media type, so I'm unable to play it via VLC. Is it possible to add this? I'm also missing a dark theme.
/edit
Looked into your sources, and I think this should do the job:
Code:
sMimeTypeMap.loadEntry("video/mpeg", "ts");

I have added the following formats, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.ts
Code:
sMimeTypeMap.loadEntry("video/MP2T", "ts");
sMimeTypeMap.loadEntry("video/MP2T", "mts");
sMimeTypeMap.loadEntry("video/MP2T", "m2ts");
Hopefully that will allow you to playback your content.
Works very well.
Fast Thanks you for sharing it free with source.
good, but

but, can you add auto-repeat feature ?
It's a must func for easy-listner/viewer of many short music/video clips.
If you are looking for a note app with all record methods, MixNote is the perfect choice. MixNote supports text, to-do-list, picture and recording voice. And it is highly intuitive and beautifully designed.

When you have a work plan, click the to-do icon to write all things done and put it in Home for reminder. When you are too busy to type, then create a voice note. You can even type while recording voice.
Notes are generally cataloged by TODO, audio and picture. You can put a tag for each note according to your needs. Search by tag or keyword can help you find a note quickly.
MixNote has an amazing feature. It is recording voice when calling. With that, no more hurry to find pen and memo to write a message, just need to shake the phone when calling.
If you are concerned about your privacy, MixNote can also handle that. Lock and hide a note. For more security, there are password lock, pattern lock and fingerprint lock, provided by AppLock.
MixNote allows you to share notes by text or picture, so your ideas and thoughts can be shared to Facebook and Twitter .etc in any time.
With a current Play Store rating of 4.4 stars, it's the only note app you'll ever need. Try it out for yourself.

I must agree. Overall it is a very nice App and I am on the verge of switching from my current note-app
But there appear to be some performance issues on some phones. It works fine on my Xperia Z5, but on my GF's older Galaxy S4 mini it is a little slow. Maybe there is some optimization that can be done...
Thread closed as the OP is spamming the boards with his posts on this app
