Let's share OTA info

H961N recentry get OTA.
mybad, forget update file name (size is 389MB).
I found security patch update, but I don't know more.
What has changed ?

Probably the same thing Verizon users saw. I forget all the specifics. Better fingerprint scanning. Louder speaker. Other bug fixes.

There is still no word on the MM update for our model (mine running v10b-SEA-XX). Been checking daily on both device and bridge.

I had the MM update since 24th March 2016 through LG Bridge. It's currently v10c-SEA-XX.

That seems right. I wonder if it could be IP triggered. Have you tried using a proxy server for LG Bridge to detect your phone with, i.e. Hong Kong IP?

Isn't that SEA stands for South East Asia, that means Singapore version?
I got 5.1.1 same as you. I asked from LG Singapore and they inform me that the update will roll out in this month.

No OTA update in Hong Kong but there are an MM update on the Bridge.

OTA update for Singapore version is available now.
V20a-SEA-XX

My HK set ( H961N) latest OTA update is V20d-HKG-XX

The new version is V20a Marshmallow,

H959(32G) is the same as F510k, they can cross flash the kdz.
But there is no kdz for F510 on the internet.

Well, at least it's happening. Just be patient, we waited for so long and I don't think a few more days will be a problem.

Do not try it even if tot or kdz is available for that..
H950 has qfuse set and anything that is qfuse<1 ie 0 will hard brick the device..
I just hope that there will be some exploit that can give us custom recovery and kernel someday..
However kernel hijacking is a possibility but devs with enough knowledge arent interested in this device ...
Also MM may not have root simply also due to dm_verity in kernel..
For us h950 users outside USA there may never be a MM either...
I was wondering if we all take it to twitter to demand a solution for custom kernel bombing their twitter we may get a good response
We can even say our devices heat up so much that it reaches temp of 60-70+ so we need to modify vdd freely for all g flex 2...
They may acknowledge the sd810 problem and send a method to unlock all variants..
What do u say guys?

No even ATT PR has no qfuse set.. ATT 5.1.1 has qfuse so not possible..
Will result in infamous q9008 brick..

i dont know if it works, i see in another thread someone asking for flash h955 over f510l and the only thing they say is the modem driver maybe dont work, you will dont have network connection...but maybe the rom works.

Now we only need a rooted image.

Yes that is applicable.. But don't downgrade att 5.1.1 to 5.0.1
Downgrade for att 5.1.1 is not possible whatsoever

Rooting LG G5 on Android 7.0

Hello XDA Developers,
I've recently got an LG G5. I used to have the LG G2. Having said that, I dropped my G2 and the screen was damaged. T Mobile sent the LG G5 as a replacement.
I would like to root my LG G5. I just lack the know how on how to do it with Android Nougat 7.0
I'll be glad to hear from any of you.

Would love root option for 7.0 since I need to get Titanium backup on it to recover some data. It seems it's not so easy to root G5 in general, all versions. G4 and below were so easy.

Make sure you read the threads to downgrade to 20A first if you're on anything later than that before you can actually follow those guides to root and get TWRP.

How do you know if you have 20A or 20C? I appreciate the links to help root my g5. I've attached my About phone info if that would help.

You're on 20f. It's the last three characters of the software version.

How a lot of phones are getting nowadays. But just downgrade to 20A and root from there by following those guides.

If it says invalid kdz file check that md5 of downloaded kdz is same as what is posted on the thread with the kdz, if not re-download it. Otherwise try using uppercut to flash it (search main g5 XDA fourm for uppercut thread).

When The 7.0 Update will be releades?!

God! a lot of variants already have the Nougat..... why it was taking to long for the TMO? Doe's exist any ported rom with Nougat? i fell like this beast is death.....

Today I got software update bump to V10J with size of 980MB. Initial log says phone and system improvements.
But lets wait for full log

I installed this yesterday. Didn't notice any changes other than some third party music players now forced to down-sample content.

so should we upgrade it?

I've been seeing so many update threads but the SEA variant of the 990DS just isn't getting it yet, and that's a little upsetting. I guess cause it was quick to get the July update its gonna fall behind this time.

but is it working without problem? i had h990ds SEA but the KDZ from lg-firmwres.com only for india/philipina/indonesia. i lived in indonesia and SEA already included indonesia languange. can i safetly flash indonesia firmware on top of SEA?

Read the OP in the KDZ Writer thread. It's designed to only update parts of the system that need updating. Worst case if you're worried, do a full TWRP backup beforehand. That site has SEA KDZs. Might not be the very latest version, but they have them as it's what I originally flashed on my phone before using KDZ Writer to switch to TWN. If it works and you're without your language, just add it in settings
And be sure to thank @emdroidle for making things like this possible.
