Need help on pixel boot loop, version 7.1.2, i have been searching for hours, found answers that give me hope and some that dont. please someone help!!!
Hey guys, im extremely new to this rooting and stuff, however, my son seemed to think he is a professional ( he is not and doesnt knoow much more than i do when it comes to this stuff) my understanding is that he was attempting to root the google pixel using this way youtube.com/watch?v=iQQF3b1ttp0,which is from "HIGHONANDROID" from what i am aware , there has been nothing added to the phone like what most ppl are saying so to my knowledge supersu or twrp neither are downloaded onto the phone. he tells me he went as far as "fastboot flash unlock?" than attempted the "fastboot boot boot-to-root.img" the phone restarted went as far as google logo with black line accross than restarts all over. which it is now continually doing, it did show the warning about the thing being unlocked and what have you so he tried to "re-lock" it by doing a "flash lock?" if that makes any sense?? litterally got the phone 2 days ago can anyone please help me out. and please please dumb it down. My knowledge is quite limited with this stuff. thank you in advance.

Hello everyone,
I am stuck in a very frustrating dilemma with my Nexus 5 and need help very badly. I somehow managed to delete my entire OS using TWRP. Now my phone is constantly stuck on the Google logo screen. I am able to get into the bootloader screen, but any further action from there only takes me back to the frozen Google logo screen. I have spent the last several hours researching this issue and found many, many forum posts about solving this same issue, but I either don't understand the things people are suggesting or what I am able to understand, does not work for my phone.
So far I have messed around with the Wugs Toolkit thing but not sure what is right step for me considering almost everything requires me to go into my phone settings to mess with the USB debugging mode....since I cannot even boot my phone I am obviously unable to do this step.
I also have read about pushing a ROM file onto my phone but I'm not quite sure how to do this and how I know it even worked.
Please, can anyone give me any pointers/step-by-step guides? Thank you so much...

1) don't use toolkits
2) USB debugging only works in Android anyway
3) just adb push a ROM to /sdcard and flash it. All you need to know is in my signature

Ok so this is my first time posting on XDA so please don't be dicks.
I've been on XDA before and I use it all the time when i've rooted stuff and messed around with my phones. I successfully rooted a GS3 last year and it was awesome and this year i have an LG G2 (ATT version D800). I rooted it a few months back and it took me a little while to do it but it worked. I didn't flash any custom roms or anything but i did use Xposed all the time and it was awesome.
Yesterday like a dumbass i took an OTA update and it put my phone into a bootloop with the message:
ERROR: Boot certification verify
Secure booting error!
Cause: Boot certification verify
Now all my phone does is light up with the LG symbol, flash that message, turn off and keep repeating. I have no download mode, I have no recovery, there is nothing I can do with any variations of button holdings and presses. I can turn it off but I have to hold the power button down for like a solid 15+ seconds to get it to stop. I was running stock firmware from LG, never flashed a single custom ROM on this phone (but I am familiar with it since i use to do it with my GS3 all the time).
Idk what to do, i've been all over the internet and XDA trying to fix this and figure it out. The major problem that I have is that I have a macbook and I know everyone uses PC so not everything from XDA applies to me unfortunately. I don't have access to a PC either unfortunately bc otherwise I would just try fixing it with a PC.
I do have ADB and I have just a little knowledge with that but nothing to extensive.
Please please please help me out, i've never posted anything on a forum before so I hope you guys can help.
PS, I did go to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 and that looks great but idk anything about Ubuntu and that whole thing seemed foreign to me unfortunately.
I have been reading everything I can find and tried to figure it out myself but the more I read the more questions I have and the less sure I am about trying any of the things I have read.
My problem is with an lg tribute from the company called Textnow. My friend ordered the phone from them and was having some issue she decided to try to fix by doing a factory reset which caused it to be stuck on the Lg boot logo. I tried booting to recovery to fix it. The recovery was TWRP. I was under the impression that Twrp was a custom recovery program that was installed after unlocking boot loader. Best I can tell is the phone was already rooted by the company. Does this sound right?
I messed with it for while but couldn't get anywhere with it because I haven't any knowledge of rooting except what I read . I noticed it kept saying something about simulating actions and figured that out but now after trying to back up and restore and poking around that it says there is no os , I was hoping someone could help me figure out where to go from here as it isn't my phone and I would hate to damage it although my friend keeps telling me to just try whatever no big loss because she can't use it like it is so. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Thank you for using xda assist
Cant seem to find any other relevant thread regarding your device here
but you may post here instead for now
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
hi! im new here, but all of the members at xda never let me down in unbricking my two previous smart phones (i brick all of my smartphones ), though im having a little bit of a problem in my most recent phone, a vodafone smart prime 6 from portugal.
hereĀ“s what happened:
my previous two phones didnt run pokemon go, and i wanted to give it a try, see what all the fuss was about. unfortunately, i bought the phone second handed, and it was rooted, so i had to unroot it. but then i remembered all the good things about rooted android smartphones so i decided to try to install magisk, without success unfortunately. but magisk and supersu messed up my phone, and i was having a pain in the ass unrooting it, so i tried to install an original rom with TWRP, but it turns out i got a corrupted rom, and i know for a fact the boot partition is completely ****ed.
it wont go to recovery, it wont boot into the system, just stays there on the "powered by android" screen. i know for a fact (and this might help) that my computer detects the bootloader interface, but no ADB. if i connect my phone to the computer with the volume up and down buttons, it goes into download mode, but those are the only things that work.
it doesnt do anything, and i really dont wanna take it to a store, because i cant afford it (which is why i bought it second handed).
i hope you guys can help me,
thanks in advance,
vectonic

Good luck
Hi, so thought things where going well and here I am.
Just as a prewarning I often get overwhelemed with a lot of phone terms so sorry if I dont pick up straight away or make sense myself.
Basically wanted to Root my old google pixel xl, and I managed to unlock the bootloader, download magisk get the img and to the point where I had my patched file, all based on the guide on High on android . com
However once I ran the boot process of the patched file, it didn't work. I got stuck in wht I think was a boot loop, where the G would load up and then just be loading forever.
So I figured I did something wrong and went to load back the original Boot.img since that was their advice and this seems to have only made the problem worse, now I didn't even reach the G, instead google appears before flicking to a No command screen where there a dead lil androidian? idk what the green dude is) but yeah not good I assume.
So this is what I've tried to do so far;
I can still get to the bootloader page and have tried again to no success, even the patched file does the same and the original now.
I have tried the android recovery memory and doing a factory reset, and still have the issue
Turning the device off and leaving it and coming back
Applying an update from ADB within the recovery menu, which I tried both the og boot and patched and didn't work.
I did also notice that when following the tutorial and copying my device number I used Marlin but on the recovery screen now it says Sailfish, so I'm not sure if I used the wrong one? I have tried using the boot img from Sailfish but this did nothing.
Any help or is it better off to stop here?
Its not the end of the world but Id rather know before giving it away for parts or something
