Anyone else have this issue before. Today I restarted my phone after uninstalling package disabled and phone came back with most of the setting reset. Like all my Google keyboards turned off. My AOD turned on. Etc
I literally had to change almost all setting. It also lost the theme so I had to re-theme it. What's crazy is it even changed my icon layout to a layout that I had a night before.
I can't think of anything that could have made drastic other than the theme. Possible that the theme crashed and it reverted all settings but this is really weird and annoying.
This just happened to me. Now I can't re-active my Samsung Pass. I put my password in and then it fails when I try to register my iris or fingerprint. (Can't recognize fingerprint. Try again later.)
I've tried everything under the sun to fix it except a factory reset.
I just had this happen on my S8. Any developments since you noticed this?

Just recently found that Auto-rotate stopped working on my Inspire. I have checked my settings multiple times and it is checked, but it will not rotate to landscape mode. I have tried it in both the browser and messages and neither one seems to work. I doesn't matter how I hold the phone it stays in portrait mode. I have also restarted and powered down the phone numerous times but to no avail. Glitch or something wrong with the phone? Should I take it back and get a replacement?
mine is doing the same thing. Really annoying when I am trying to show off the pictures, hopefully a fix is coming
I think I'm just gonna take it back to Best Buy and get a replacement since I've already dropped it and scuffed the edge. Plus I have their insurance and buy back program so I shouldn't have any hassles just swapping it out.

A reboot will fix the auto-rotate. This has happened to me a few times, I'm trying to figure out what app caused the lock - I think it might be Tweetdeck or Twidroid.
Shouldn't happen, I know, but a reboot will return it to working mode.
I've had the Inspire for 5 days and have the auto-rotate freeze up twice. Once was in the store when I bought it, and I think we fixed it by killing the Internet app. The second time was two days ago, and I fixed it with a restart. Seems to be a software problem, not hardware sensor problem.
Had the same thing, solved by re-calibrating sensors.
Hi there,
I had the same thing. It drove me nuts, but eventually I found the problem. I am using CM10 and in the System Settings->Advanced->Sensors I noticed that under "Use Calibration File" the small print says that after checking it you HAVE to re-calibrate. Now I don't remember actually checking that check box but I might have, since I was tweaking the device to my liking after that first install of CM10. I re-calibrated and vuala! It now works just fine.
If you are using another ROM it could be in a different menu, but find it and re-calibrate the sensors.
Hope this solves your problem too.

so, i saw a thread with some similair issues, but this seems to be different
last night my sw2 became really sluggish when clearing notifications, so I cleared all of the data from gmail extension, messaging extension and watchit! this morning still sluggish. tried rebooting, to no avail.
now the watch face has reverted back to the default digital face, all notifications are working but the launcher is unresponsive... after 3 hours and it self rebooting about 5 times I i could access the apps and menus, but the notification shade will pull down but nothing can be selected. it's now back to being unresponsive, I should have reset it while I had the chance
The only thing that i've changed recently was changing the brightness slider from low to high
anybody have any ideas?
edit: watch freed up again, and I was able to reset it... now working normally
Usually I put my phone into aeroplane mode before I go to sleep, but last night I fell asleep before doing that.
When I woke up this morning and picked up my phone, all of the widgets were gone from my home screens apart from Google Newsstand. My wallpaper had reset back to the default Nexus 5 wallpaper. I use Apex Launcher, so at first I thought that maybe the phone had switched back to the default launcher somehow, which would explain the empty home screens but that wasn't the case - I was still in Apex. When I went into Settings, under Accounts there was nothing listed apart from my main Google account. eBay, SoundCloud, OneDrive, Dropbox etc. were all gone.
I rebooted the phone, hoping that that would somehow fix things, but it started up in Safe Mode and of course, everything was still missing. I turned it off again and turned it back on and this time it booted into normal mode, but it was still messed up. I ended up doing a factory reset and reinstalling everything.
Any idea what might have caused this?

has anyone run across this issue when you set a specific time out, the screen dims after the specified time but does not lock, it stays on?
my phone was working just fine, stock not rooted, took the latest update and after that i've been having nothing but weird issues, the other day the notification area at the top was not working, i had to basically check every app, messages etc manually to see updates, had to factory reset the damn thing, now this screen issue, the phones is only 1 month old.
any input?
thanks
I'm having very weird issues with screen lock. I'm be on the phone and the device will randomly lock and not let me unlock it without restarting the phone.
The new update is when it all started. I don't want to do a factory reset, but it's looking like I might have to?
It's sort of laggy, when I want to tap on an app to open it, for example, it takes a few taps or sometimes just doesn't work at all.
The problem doesn't seem to be only on one area of the screen though, the whole screen has the same problem.
Haven't installed any recent updates or anything, in case that could be a cause of the problem. I've tried restarting the phone a few times and also wiping the screen but it hasn't worked.
I've also tried using the optimise and clean up options in the Phone Manager, but they haven't improved anything...
The screen was working like normal just this morning, but then around late afternoon the problem started.
I haven't installed a custom ROM or any other major modifications like that, by the way. The phone is pretty much the same as it was since I bought it. EMUI v8.0 and Android Oreo.
Try a factory reset?
