NOTE:
DO NOT ask for a backup. If you do not have one, you have to accept to be permanently on Android like me.
Create a folder somewhere that we can use
Copy the backup to that folder
extract the zip I attached to this folder
Download these into the folder:
imgman.exe
Original partition table
recovery_unsecure.img
EDIT: Someone seems to have taken down the main Android4Lumia thread, along with it's creator and it's attached files. The files can be found in the attachments down below.
create another folder inside this one called "parts"
run this command:
Code:
Code:
imgman64.exe <backup.img> parts
replace <backup.img> with the filename of your backup
Code:
Code:
fastboot boot recovery_unsecure.img
adb push fame_wp_unlocked.gpt /cache/
adb shell
sgdisk --load-backup /cache/fame_wp_unlocked.gpt /dev/block/mmcblk0
sync
sync
reboot
ADB should disconnect at this point
Code:
Code:
fastboot flash <partition> parts\<partition>.img
WHERE <partition> is one of these (flash them in this order):
TZ
SSD
RPM
WINSECAPP
MODEM_FSG
MODEM_FS1
MODEM_FS2
UEFI_BS_NV
UEFI_NV
UEFI_RT_NV
UEFI_RT_NV_RPMB
PLAT
MMOS
EFIESP
UEFI
Then reboot the phone with
Code:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Phone will show smiley of death, that's normal
From this point, you can use WDRT to flash a clean WP, or reflash the one from the backup using thor2
thor2 should be at
64-Bit Windows
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Care Suite\Windows Device Recovery Tool
32-Bit Windows
Code:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Care Suite\Windows Device Recovery Tool
To do this
Code:
Code:
thor2 -mode rnd -bootflashapp
wait for the phone to show the alternative NOKIA logo, where the text is not centered vertically
Code:
Code:
thor2 -mode uefiflash -partitionname MainOS -partitionimagefile parts\MainOS.img
thor2 -mode uefiflash -partitionname Data -partitionimagefile parts\Data.img
EDIT: or just flash your phone's FFU file (download from lumiafirmware.com ):
Code:
thor2 -mode uefiflash -ffufile <Path-to-FFU> -do_full_nvi_update -do_factory_reset
thanks to @feherneoh for this hint
And then reboot:
Code:
thor2 -mode rnd -bootnormalmode
WP8 should boot
Instead of thor2 you can flash MainOS and Data partition/FFU (with both partitions included) with WPInternals or WDRT
I dont have Backup imgs can i go back to wp8?

Next time follow the instrunctions, and make a backup if they say so.

I wouldn't recommend you to use backups of other phones. You can try it but there is a high chance of bricking your phone. Next time, read the instructions and make a backup. Bad luck for you.

Download Win32DiskImager and boot WP Mass Storage Mode.
A new drive letter will show up which you mustn't repair if Windows asks.
Then open Win32DiskImager, click on the folder icon and choose a path for your backup image file.
After this press the "Read" button.
Done!

First of all, all props goes to the OP of this thread. This is merely a step-by-step detailed guide on the process since there were a lot of members complaining that the steps were unclear.
- Download the following and extract all the files:
MT6577 USB VCOM drivers (link: http://www.mediafire.com/?2sf30pboet4qvov)
SP Flash Tool v3.1224.01.rar (link: http://www.mediafire.com/?h68v8yhhtci8h0e)

2.5gb-data-perm-root.zip (link: http://www.mediafire.com/?4wg5f6rgat8qdrt)
- Install the MT6577 USB VCOM drivers drivers
- Inside the 2.5gb-data-perm-root folder make sure the files have the following names (CASE SENSITIVE!):
recovery.img
EBR1.img
boot.img
logo.img
MBR.img
preloader.img
Screenshot:

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- Turn off your phone and unplugg the USB cable
- Start SP Flash Tool
- Under options in the menubar check "USB mode"
- Under File in the menubar click on "Open scatter-loading file" and select MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt from the CWM-ROOT-B92M folder
- Double click the following rows inside SP Flash Tool:
PRELOADER and select preloader.img (from 2.5gb-data-perm-root folder)
MBR and select MBR.img (from 2.5gb-data-perm-root folder)
EBR1 and select EBR1.img (from 2.5gb-data-perm-root folder)
BOOTIMG and selet boot.img (from 2.5gb-data-perm-root folder)
RECOVERY and select recovery.img (from 2.5gb-data-perm-root folder)
LOGO and select logo.img (from 2.5gb-data-perm-root folder)
You should have the following then:
- Click on "Download" inside SP Flash Tool
- Take out the battery of the phone
- Put the battery in
- Connect USB cable with your computer
- The bar at the bottom of SP Flash tool should go to 100% a few time and present you with a green circle when done
- Done flashing, hit volume up + power to start up CWM and make a backup

Your best option is to contact the seller and ask him for more information about this.
After flashing with 2.5GB ROM, I have issue with my camera: it detects 80MB partition as the SDcard partition.
Anyone know how to change this? Or.. which file should I look for to change the camera save location?
Make sure you have an external sd-card inserted in the phone. It should automatically be mounted to /sdcard/ where you should have enough space to store your camera photos.

What charger are you using and how fast/slw will it charge a empty battery?
Mine takes for ever (8hrs from 0%), the charger fastcardnet send me, but also a standard usb charger i got.
I'm just using the default micro USB chargers I have laying around. I never charge via a computer (USB) though.

Hi,
I have followed this guide but I didn't get root access.
I also wiped data and did the factory reset but there is no superuser...
What do I have to do now?
And I have another question: What do I need to do to go to the Internet by connecting to my Laptop (in it's function as a Wifi-hotspot) and using his wired-internet-connection? I only got it by Ad-Hoc but it seems that this doesn't work anyway...
Thx,

Try flashing again and Superuser should be working. Once flashed I suggest you start the play store and you'll see that there is an update available.

I had a 2.5 GB space on my Internal SD Card before I do this root, now it is 83 MB, I could try a factory reset but I still need the rooting so I will run into this problem again.

When I first did the root I did not the su.zip step so I booted my phone and it informed me that my internal SD card is damaged amd asked me if I wanted to format it, I clicked yes and then it became 83 MB, I did the root again and flashed su.zip too, I also tried to format the internal SD card but it is still 83 MB.
I think I need to reformat with specifying the new size, how can I do that?
Hello, I'm sorry if my english was bad since its not my native language .
Recently I accidentally clear data of naver line applications and now I'm trying to recover the apps database since all my naver line contacts were gone, I already try using the method provided on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705 it gives me 0 bytes of raw data, all step by step including using cygwin 32bit still 0 bytes, so is there any other way to image the userdata partition? Or is there a way to recover applications database properly? My Moto G were XT1033 version with android 5.1 lollipop.
Every help were appreciated, Thank you .

Hi! It seems i found the problem, the problem is because userdata partition detected as a Unallocated Space thats why all apps like Autopsy, FTK imager, GetDataBack, cant determine the file system for userdata partition, do you know the way around this?
So when it comes to the newly released EMUI8 for Honor 9 things get a little bit tricky, as we don't have any official update for our region yet (only for C900 and AL variants - chinese).
Every file i provided have been built during the way finding how stuff works on oreo - and alot of stuff changed EDIT: Official update is out for C432 - i recommend to not use the provided TWRP for daily, reliable usage.
PART 1
0. download the B360a zip from my mega folder
1. read README.txt from fw zip and follow the steps carefully (easy install)
2. have fun with official oreo
Rollback instructions
1. copy the rollback zip and nocheck recovery (!!oreo version!!) to the root of your MicroSD card
2. enable usb debugging in developer options
3. connect your phone to your computer, start an adb shell and issue the following commands:
Code:
dd if=/storage/sdcard1/STF_RECOVERY_OREO_NoCheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/recovery_ramdisk
dd if=/storage/sdcard1/STF_RECOVERY_OREO_NoCheck.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/erecovery_ramdisk
echo --update_package=/sdcard/update_rollback_al10c00b190.zip > /cache/recovery/command
4. last but not least reboot recovery, again in adb shell:
Code:
reboot recovery
5. your device should start to flash a chinese version of nougat (EMUI 5.1)
hint: if you get an error during the installation, just press the reboot button, it still boots.
device crashes during boot? do a low-level data partition format, boot into erecovery when you get asked to.
6. prepare the MicroSD (8gb atleast, exFAT formatted)
download the C432 firmware and extract it
copy the dload folder you extracted to the root of your MicroSD
7. if required unlock your bootloader
8. flash the nocheck recovery (nougat version) to recovery and recovery2 partition using fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash recovery STF_RECOVERY_NoCheck.img
fastboot flash recovery2 STF_RECOVERY_NoCheck.img
9. boot your device into force dload mode (keep vol+, vol- and power pressed until the installation starts)
10. you should boot into a fresh L09C432B100 installation
I've uploaded every file you need for the process to mega.nz - please do not mirror any of the stuff provided!

Huge thanks to @LastStandingDroid for providing the modified SuperSU installation package.
Best Regards,
OldDroid
To fix the file manager, open your root file explorer and follow the steps carefully:
1. create a folder called "normal" in /cust/hw
2. create a second folder in the previously created one, name it "app"
3. now move HwCloudDrive_Local folder from /cust/hw/eu/app to /cust/hw/normal/app
4. reboot
Thank you!
I'll try it!

I have problem with installation.
I have NTFS system files on my SD card and i can't mount this card in TWRP.
What i have to do?
Format to FAT32 or what?
So awesome, thank you for that.
Is there a version of this that will work the same or similar on the P10 (standard P10). Thanks

Ok...but i don't have Huawei "Support" or account or idk what.....but for example...the themes app is different, because i can't log in any Huawei Account ...it's not an option to log in :\
Hi! And first of all, thanks a lot for this guide as you just gave hopeless H9 owners a bit of light...
Now I haven't gone through the process yet but I got a bit confused as of part.3 (that is recommended but not needed), should we unroot BEFORE flashing Ramdisk and Recovery Ramdisk? I then have an old UnSu script by Osmosis, would it work or the "Full Unroot" option from the SuperSu app is okay?
Thanks in advance for your reply and Thanks again for this guide!! Cheers

Tryed it. Resulted in a your device is corrupt.
Easy fox if you guys try this.
Download the recovery tool posted. Fallow those instructions. Then download the NA ROM red magic and put the zip in the root of the phone. On the phone go to system update and update front hat zip and you are back up and running on V1.18

He left out an important step. This needs to be done BEFORE doing anything on the phone.
"4. open cmd, then type adb reboot bootloader , then phone will reboot to fastboot mode.
5. Use fastboot flashing unlock, use volume key select unlock , confirm with power button , then the phone will do factory reset and reboot. Now the phone is unlocked"
Can I do that on my red magic 3s?
Thank
thanks finally
So I can flash without unlocking bootloader? I've got to much info on this phone to just let it be erased. And don't have the time to copy everything before doing it. I appreciate your time

Unlocking bootloader not loss data
For many users, unlocking the bootloader is unacceptable, because the tablet will stop updating via OTA. However, there are ways to save important partitions without unlocking them, which can be useful in case of damage during flashing or update.
1. The first method is described here. It works, I tested it. The Read button reads the partition to a file, the Load button writes from the image file to the partition.
Disadvantages: you can't copy the whole FS of the tablet at once, you have to copy the partitions one by one.
2. The second way goes here. It works on Linux, Windows, and MacOS. I checked it on the Live CD Mint 20.2. The tablet was recognized, the partition table was read and I successfully copied one boot partition.
Disadvantages: Difficult for Windows users.
Cons: You can copy selected partitions in any combination or the whole tablet at once.

It is very likely that these 2 methods will work for other models of tablets as well...
Were you able to use the --skip parameter with edl?
I used --skip=super,userdata the other day but it still backed up those partition (long wait for userdata )

How to get/set the key from the TEE?
Or are the chinese ROMs are unencrypted?

My userdata permanently unencrypted with no-verity-opt-encrypt. TWRP says "Decrypted with default password"

Hi mate,
I've used the method #1 that you linked, to take a full backup of my pad pro (thanks for sharing this, helped a lot since I really wanted to have a backup to restore to out-of-box if needed in the future).
I ended up with 91 partitions saved, but it seems a lot of these partitions would never really get touched or changed, no matter what you do to your tablet (in terms of rooting, custom roms etc), so I wanted to ask you if you could give a break down of what you think are the essential ones that would need to be restored to revert back to "out of the box". For example. I suspect a lot of the partitions house data such as serials, mac addresses, component firmware etc, etc, and such-like which would not need to be written back to the device during a restore.
I'm attaching a pdf I made showing all the partitions available through use of QFIL, if you could reference it in any advice/help with your answer I would be grateful. Thanks
The firmware writes to different sections, in particular to frp and frpinfo and others. If you want to get the tablet back to the same state as you backed it up, you must have a copy of all partitions.
For a regular backup you don't need a copy of all partitions, just the ones you need.
Besides, I recommend to have backups of those partitions that are not in the firmware in case the internal memory fails or human errors (like ticking "Erase all before download" in QFil settings)

You need to download rom (firmware) for your device, unzip it in separate folder and point to folder from QPST.
@f1tm0t thank you for your reply.
The reseller send it (TB-J716F) to me with custom global rom and unlock bootloader, so i follow the guide to flash stock Chinese rom and lock bootloader, it worked but widevine L3. Then i put the update.zip to push it through version 14.0.127 with locked bootloader but still widevine L3.
I'm going to backup 5 important partitions: fpinfo, persist, uefivarstore, secdata, frp, then redo all processes again.
BTW do you have any idea what is this: https://github.com/zenlty/Qualcomm-Firehose
in the extracted ROM (ZUI 12) there is 2 firehose which one should i use?
