Anyone know when to expect update on US Honor 8 running EMUI 5, Android 7, Build FRD-L04C567B360 ?
Since this phone is used as BYOD for work, I cannot root. I did try the Huawei Firmware Finder, but it's kinda known not work with EMUI 5...I tried anyway.
Also tried to update via HiSuite on my PeeCee and no luck there.
Is Huawei just not ready to release any updates?
B360 is the latest version for the US. There's nothing to update.
Updates for L04 and L14 are vaporware
B385 I suspect will be released this or next month..

If you can't wait for updates you should not have bought a huawei phone. Huawei usually takes a half year for bringing it's newest software to older devices.
Just received an update to EMUI (version 17.7.84.1) which apparently improves the detection of supplied future updates.
Does that mean I may be getting Oreo and EMUI 8 finally here in the UK (sim provider BT)? Has anyone in the UK got Oreo OTA without the need to use FF?

How do you mean 17.7.84.1? EMUI version on my Mate 9 in the UK is 5.0.1 still only with the November 2017 security patch level.

I'm fed up waiting for EMUI 8 / Oreo as it is supposed to fix the Android Auto connection problem.
I was wondering if there is an emui 8.1 update for our device. Huawei said honor 6x will be updated to emui 8 so i am guessing they will go all the way. From what I can tell, 8.1 brings redesigned gallery, camera and (maybe) face unlock. I have rebranded to BLN-AL20 and in firmware finder there is no update, so just wondering.
There's already an official Oreo flashable firmware on xda (base version 8.0, not 8.1), but the procedure is a little time-consuming and involves rebranding your phone to a BLN-L22.
The firmware is still beta though, and is meant to be used only by official beta testers. Also, if I'm not wrong, it should be the India target version. Still universally usable as you can change your language but probably not meant for your region (unless you live in India).
I personally am using it and it is really stable, but not perfect.

Ive been waiting for OREO update for asia region official update but to no vail & last update was still in EMUI 5.0.3 Android 7. Build no is FRD-L19C636B392 last security patch of 1st August 2018. Ive also search for update on Team MT's online firmware database but got nothing either on OREO.
So do I have to rebrand to other region in order to get the OREO update? if yes then which would be best to rebrand to, since FRD-L19 for europe got the OREO update.

Same here, ı have middleeast version and stuck on 5.0.4 emui version. Did u even tried to rebrand?

I sometimes think that my Honor 8 (FRD-L09) is the only one on the planet that didn't receive an update to Android 8.0 (Oreo). It said on the updates that it's the latest version. Is there a way to update it? I don't want to use something in official or that may void warranty.
P.S: Reply if you know how (NOT Honor 8 LITE or PRO)
It seems that you have Frd L09 c185 like me so you are not alone
Oreo for some reasons hasn't released for c185 model so you have to change your variant which needs open bootloader and twrp
