No Sound from speaker, mic and headphones--not hardware issue - HTC Pico (Explorer)

Hi,
Recently I have a peculiar problem , I can't hear any sound during call whether its mic or loud speaker or even headphones i could't hear any sound from the phone. I've tried music with loud speaker and even in head phones still the same issue. I've tried to change a ring tone in settings->sound that too i couldn't hear sound.
I have tried in different ROM too and clean flashed multiple times and no luck with that.
When i open a video file or camera app my mobile reboots every time i tried the result is same. I've gone through some of the logs and found some lines but i couldn't understand
sample logs are
1. adev_set_parameters: ERROR: set param called even when stream out is null
2. AUDIO_OUTPUT_FLAG_FAST denied by client due to mismatching sample rate (48000 vs 44100)
3. LPAPlayer::Clip duration setting of less than 30sec not supported, defaulting to 60sec
4. Could not offload audio decode, try pcm offload (16-bit)
My Current ROM: PAC-pico-KTU84Q-UNOFFICIAL-BUILD_3
Recovery: TWRP 2.8.7.0 Recovery
note: Attached the log cat from my mobile.(hint: search from "05-17 19:17:27.560")
If Someone has a solution or faced this kind of issue and solved plz help me :crying: on this i love my little beast.

Recording Phone Calles....

Hi there i have noticed that ppl want to record their phone conversation so here is the trick i got from Pocket PC email.
Recording phone calls
Here's a neat trick you can do with your Pocket PC Phone Edition that you probably can't do with your old phone. Did you know you can record single phone conversations or keep track of conference calls with your Pocket PC? This would come in very handy if you would like to remember exactly what a conversation was about, days after the conversation had taken place! Of course, you can also use it to make sure you get what you are promised when you call your telephone company to sort out your account!
Before you do this, you should be aware of the laws in your area regarding recording phone conversations. You should also tell the person you are talking to that you are going to record the phone conversation. Having done that, read on...
To record a phone call, start the phone call as per normal, then once you have started the phone call, open the notes application (tap the button), tap New from the menu bar at the bottom, and tap the button. You should see the recording bar at the bottom of the screen.
Simply tap the record button to record the conversation.
You may get variable results depending on the device you are using, and may not be able to use this at all on some devices - particularly older ones.
... or you can just press a record button after establising a call.
On most devices this would record only sound coming to microphone, so other party sound volume would be low. This has been discussed several times before.
also it does record only in WAV files & still the recording length is limited to a certain maximum length!
recording phone calls
Seems to me that what people would like is (NaturalRecorder)
http://www.naturalwidgets.com/products/naturalrecorder/
But this is only Compatible with Nokia Series 60
unless some one knows how to adapt it
if i am recording a call using the Notes application i can hear my voice ver clear but i can't hear the other end.. how to improve that?
this method does not work with magician

Guys, I've just had a thought about this problem (recording/playing sound from/to the phone)
How does the bluetooth profile work? This is redirecting audio through the bluetooth stack to the headset.
Would it be feasible to write a dummy bluetooth profile that would merely redirect audio in/out back to the local device, so that we can record it etc?
V
I once recorded conversation using Resco Audio recorder V 3.2...one can listen the other party sound.. relatively better than the notes application...
But I guess this will work much better in quiet surroundings..
Have anyone tried Simbsoft Voice Recorder?
http://www.handango.com/PlatformPro...latformId=2&N=96806&productId=118218&R=118218
Anyone any thoughts on the bluetooth profile idea?
Concensus is that it is not technically possible otherwise to record the phone through current software and drivers; I haven't tried other recording software, but that's not what I'm talking about...

It could work if someone can write a virtual BT driver, which would actually buffer the incoming & outgoing audio streams & write them to a WAV or MP3 file..
By the way, Resco Audio Recorder can record both parties in a conversation! I just tried it now on my JAM
ezzkht - re buffering Audio, that's exactly what I'm suggesting. I know some of the guys on the board are working on a bluetooth stack replacement. I guess I better post a new thread on this subject.
Re Resco: is it recording internally, or through the microphone and speaker? eg, is it dependant on how loud the phone volume is?

(RESCO) It does not depend on the volume of the phone! thats why i liked it 8)
Give it a try, http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/audiorecorder/default.asp
That's very interesting. I'll look into it.

this would not work. GSM audio outputs are physically connected directly to BT chip and data does not go through any driver.
mamaich - thanks! Didn't know that. What do you think about Resco audiorecorder recording both sides? I've not heard of that before.
V
Thanks mamaich! I never knew that
So how could Resco Audio Recorder capture both streams together..?
BTW, as far as one-button recording start is concerned, you may want to check out the "One-button recording? Does it need to show the app window?" row in the article "Everything you may need to know about sound recording on the Pocket PC": http://pocketpcmag.com/blogs/menneisyys/112005SoundRecorderApps.asp
Almost all sound / audio recorder applications know this trick.
Go get PMRRecorder at http://www.1800message.com/SPWM5CallRec.cab
It works very well on my Universal! It automatically records calls! I take the recorded files and have my secretary transpose them to text. Audio level is very good.

[Q] S3 Audio (Static & Crackles Only)

My audio has completely stopped working, except for Bluetooth which seems unaffected. Whether it's thru the earpeice, the speaker, or line out, the audio is nothing but static and crackles...and what I can only assume is the emergency tone (very annoying, very loud, rising pitch squeal). If I try to play audio or video, the sound crackles and then the file stops playing. This is both speaker and line out. If I try to listen to Google Voice message, it's nothing but static.
Phone is currently running CleanROM 6, which I just reinstalled fresh after a complete internal wipe hoping that would fix my issue, but it hasn't. Problem originally surfaced while running LiquidSmooth 2.9 and then I restored my CR6 Nandroid which, of course, didn't help either. Baseband has been updated to current version, which was also no help. Again, BT audio is just fine.
Thoughts, ideas, help?!!!
Thanks, Mike
Tried two different kernels, also no change.
Can anyone confirm that Bluetooth audio output does NOT go through the soundboard?

[Bug] Certain files make the audio cut out on Shield Tablet Lollipop

After I updated my Shield Tablet to Stock Lollipop (happens on both 5.0.1 and 5.1),
I noticed that with certain files that use the SW decoder, the audio in MXPlayer crackles a lot, and eventually the audio on the whole tablet cuts out for around 10 seconds (at least judging by the Logcat). This only occurs with MXPlayer. VLC has no audio issues, but I'd rather using MXPlayer for better seeking support. Also, when the audio cuts out, the video keeps playing, but when the audio starts working again, the video pauses until it aligns with the audio.
This appears to be a relevant line of the logcat:
Code:
W/AudioFlinger(17468): write blocked for 10016 msecs, 1 delayed writes, thread 0xaedd7000
One thing that the problematic video files have in common are 48000Hz audio channels, which I believe is the native sample rate of my device. Is there some resampling that isn't getting applied to 48KHz audio that might fix the issue? Is the AudioTrack not getting flushed properly?
The full log is attached. And these lines I believe are not relevant, because they happen nearly all the time when I have headphones plugged in:
Code:
W/NvAudioPolicyManager(17468): getDeviceForStrategy() unknown strategy:

@xperia64Did I don't think this is a resampling issue. Have you tried HW+ decoder? SW decoder on high resolution video might cause this issue. And I will be test more if you send a sample video clip.

The issue occurs on nearly all if not all videos with 48KHz audio tracks, from 320x240 all the way up to full HD. It is impossible to play some of these videos with HW+ due to them being WMV or Microsoft MP4's. I've encountered the issue even in Big Buck Bunny. I've tried the 1280x720 and 854x480 MP4's and the 854x480 MSMP4, which exhibit the issue https://peach.blender.org/download/
The lower resolution ones especially should not be that intensive.
If I play the regular BBB MP4's with the HW/+ decoder and SW audio (because AC3), I didn't notice any crackling. If I play them with the SW decoder, they eventually start crackling and audio on the whole tablet cuts out. If I play the MSMP4 version with the SW decoder and software or hardware audio, it will crackle.
I've been using MXPlayer for quite a while, and I remember that when playing larger files on an older device like the Motorola Droid 1, the audio track would sometimes get ahead of the video, and the audio would pause for a while, but this is different because there is no apparent lag and audio on the whole tablet dies.
It would appear that Nvidia's stock kernel is part of the problem here. I flashed a different kernel and I cannot reproduce the crackling/cutout. Although it's somewhat strange that only MXPlayer had this issue.
Well at least you have audio. I updated to 5.1 and did it through the ota with twrp and I have NO audio. Makes no sense. I went back to 5.0.1 and I have audio again. I tried a bunch of different things and still no way for me to get any audio on 5.1. I am thinking of trying a kernel and see if that helps. Or maybe go back, again, and wait for a fix!

Sorry, but I am saying "NO" audio even playing music or checking and changing sounds. No sound at all and also no mic. It all works good back on 5.0.1 so not sure what's the deal with 5.1 for me. I guess I will hope for better results with next version of lollipop. Thanks anyway for the suggestion.
The test build did nothing different. However, version KS-034 of this kernel appears to have fixed my remaining audio issues. On KS-033, the audio was fine for 48KHz audio files, but would still cut out with 24KHz audio files and somewhat break any future AudioTracks in any app until reboot. Version 034 said it increased the HD audio buffer so I guess that did something.

Shield Tablet OTA 3.0 looks like suspended due to audio issue.
See this link: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...3-0-update-feedback-thread-released-5-22-15-/
That is because of a different audio issue where the speakers would literally explode. I had the crackling on 5.0.1/2.2.1. as well.
And I actually went back to KS-033 because KS-034 made audio too latent and it reintroduced crackling on all files, granted it was diminished.
After updating to the latest BitO Kernel (KSX-043) and MXPlayer test version, crackling behavior has changed again, but I have a theory on the crackling this time.
I noticed that after a reboot, the crackling would stop for a while before it returned. The CPU in this device tries as hard as it can to keep its clockspeed at the minimum 51MHz while in sleep mode, regardless of wakelocks/background apps. I had been using Droidsound-e and my own AudioTrack-based music player in sleep mode and I noticed that those apps would skip/crackle a bit as they tried to process the music files but couldn't. That appears to somehow throw off audio output until reboot. The issues are still most noticeable in MXPlayer, but also appeared in other apps as well. I increased the minimum clockspeed to 204MHz and it seemed to help.
I don't know if this is the cause, or if it works on the stock kernel, but on my current setup it seems to work fine.

Bluetooth and microphone issue on latest 9.0.2

Hey guys,
the OP6 is one of the best phones I had yet even with the stock os. But even before returning to stock I used Havoc OS. There, I didn't have any problems that couldn't be fixed in the settings. Now when I have a bluetooth headphone connected I have this short crack every 5 to 30 seconds. I tried adjusting all the settings in the bluetooth section but non works. Since it worked in havoc OS I figured it must be something software related. Same with the mic. It works flawlessly on calls but upon sending a whatsapp voice message it's very quiet it sound like it was adjusting the sensitive very quickly up and down during the recording, producing a weird sounding message.
Do you have any suggestions how to fix this? Maybe something inside the build.prop or audio related xml files in system/etc?

Playing PUBG with headphones plugged in, voice chats goes through phone speakers.

I just got a Redmi Note 10 Pro. All is good except when playing PUBG with headphones plugged in.
All the regular gameplay sound goes through the headphones except for when my teammates talk through the voice chat. The voice chat audio gets routed through the phone's speakers instead of going through the headphones like all the other audio.
However, when using Bluetooth headphones, this problem doesn't occur.
I've tried restarting the device, restarting the game, changing game settings, but nothing.
I assume this is a software issue right? Otherwise I'll look to change the device.
Thanks.

Usually Software issue
This app (lesser Audio Switch) will solve it no root required but you have to manually change the settings everytime you want to use Speaker, headphone, int mic or headphone mice/ bluetooth

Actually I have an idea, download the apk from somwhere on the internet
Download Apk editor
edit the apk
common edit : then change the Sdk? target version to 39
it should work from there
else some of these methods may be viable to your phone
Best answer: How do I change my default microphone on Android?
There is no way to change default microphone. Normally device use the inbuilt microphone as default unless you manually connect another microphone like handfree. How do I change...
