Ther doesn't appear to be any options for the AOD that shows when the cover is closed, is that correct? Am I stuck with the default setting?
What is the disk in the lower left corner of the cover for?
It appears that it isn't meant to behave like the AOD on the phone itself because always goes off after a few seconds, am I correct about that?
the lock screen is totally different, and the only way to change it is to find a theme that supports it. THat little disc is the NFC chip that tells your phone to display the lock screen for the s cover when it is closed.

i been having problems with screen meaning everytime i am out during the daytime i can not see my screen what so ever. i was wondering if there is anyway to fix that? is there any apps i can download?
I installed a Widget called Brightness Level (free!) and assigned it to a Jump Key (Jump-X is what i used)
When it is pressed as a widget from a home screen, a pop-up appears with 0%, 25% 50%, 75%,. 100%, & Auto along with a slider-bar to set the screen brioghtness percentage.
Pressing the Jump key brings up the same app. the widget also shows the current setting percentage.
...using the Jump screen allows you to easily access the app even when the screen is completely dark.

any screen will do this in sunlight, turn your brightness to max by swiping your finger from left to right on the status bar and there are also anti glare screen protectors that cedll phone shops sell that may help
I have heard of that tip, but it only seems to work about 1/4 of the time (unless I am really bad at the whole swiping thing) that is why I set up the keyboard shortcut instead which works 98% of the time (assmuing the active program isn't stuck/frozen)

Swiping only works if "Auto" is off, you can also just long touch a spot on the notification bar ;-) ex, left, middle, right or anywhere in between. this seems to work better than swiping for me.
Hope this helps.
you can also just got to settings>display>brightness, uncheck automatic, and adjust brightness that way. you can also assign a jump key shortcut to settings>display, as i just did. that pretty much eliminates the need for a widget.
Somehow I keep accidentally activating it, but it's basically just a dim blank screen that only shows the time and date, and the two tabs for the edge screen?
It happens every time I pick my phone up..thanks. I can't seem to find it anywhere.
This is the quick notification from the edge alerts. You can swipe the tabs on the side towards the middle of the screen to see what they contain.
To the left of the battery icon, just above the date. It has me stumped.
No SIM inserted.
Ah thankyou. I had searched high and low before posting here.
As long as we're on this topic, I never understood what the leftmost icon in this notification area is.
It looks like a watch and it's related to display, but the circle in the middle is sometimes white and sometimes black or transparent,
but what do these 2 states mean ? Did someone figure it out ?
It is "Theater mode" when brightness is set to "Auto". Press to put the watch in theater mode.
To expand on the previous post, it means that your tilt to wake etc is disabled so your screen is permanently off. The only way to cancel it is to press one of the hard buttons.
Icon is not SIM PIN code not inserted too.
On my Samsung S8, I had a feature, so when I had auto-rotation locked, if I physically rotated the phone to a landscape position, a little phone icon with a padlock appeared in the button bar on the bottom. Pressing this icon, would manually rotate it to landscape.
I loved that feature, because I think auto-rotating is irritating, and having to manually unlock and lock rotating when I want to manually landscape the phone is irritating.
However, sadly my S8's battery started popping and swelling and become cracks in the backplate.
So had to ditch it and buy a Note 10.
Now to the question: How I do to enable this feature on Note 10?
good lock navstar
Sent from my SM-N975F using Tapatalk
On my note 10+ the icon appears when I move the screen. Back and forwards. But it disappears quickly, so I have to rotate once more.
Would me nice if it staid longer in that right corner.
See no settings however.
This is enabled by default
Does anyone have the same issue as me? Every few minutes, the navigation buttons slightly move to a different position on the screen, which makes them off-center with the rest of the screen. This usually happens after locking and unlocking the phone. I have tried to restart the phone into the safe mode but the issue is still present there. I have even contacted Sony support.
My oled TV does this to prevent burn in. Maybe check the display settings to see if it is such a feature?
Not sure, I cant find anything like that in display settings. I have also tried to change the minimum screen dpi in the developer settings and it fixed it right after the change, but as soon as I lock and unlock the phone, the buttons are off-center again.
This is a feature. It moves them over time to avoid burn in.
Ok thanks. But if this is a feature, it's pretty annoying, as it's very visible at times. Why aren't the buttons rather changing their size a bit instead? It would be less noticeable then moving them from side to side.
Nevermind, I have disabled the dock and I can't notice it anymore ?
