Anybody else getting random reboots? It happens once a day for me. Love this phone and don't want to return it.

Are you using a case? Sometimes the case is actually the issue if its pushing down on the powerbutton itself
otherwise try doing a fresh install using samsung smart switch, if you still get those reboots then swap it out for a new device

I LOVE this phone, but anyone else getting random reboots? I never had this problem with the Evo or Epic, but I get about one a day. Im thinking I should have it exchanged while im inside of my 14 days
I haven't had any issue with my phone, only spb launcher crashed on me at one point and caused me to force restart. can you pinpoint an instance that would cause the reboot?

nah, very random. Like it happened last night when I hung up a phone call. been playing on it all morning on the new n64oid emulator and its been fine but im sure ill get one some point today. I think im going to excchange it. wont hurt to
I've been having a few problems lately. Ever since the 4.3 update, my power button is REALLY sensitive. I can barely tap it and it will bring up the power menu. Sometimes hitting the power button doesn't work. I don't think it is a hardware problem as I've disassembled the s3 and the logic board and power switch are fine.
Part two:
I thought this and the battery drain/charging issues I've been having may have been due to a bad OTA so I attempted to boot to download and reflash the rom with ODIN.
Herein lies the problem. When I boot to download mode (which is almost impossible because of the power button problems) it will sit there for a moment then reboot. To clarify, I can get into download mode where it tells me how many times I've tripped the flash counter, etc. After that it reboots. Also when it does reboot, sometimes it loops, again I assume this is due to the power button issues.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you try factory reset to see if it at least fix your button issue?
Yes. That was the first thing I tried.

Download "rebooter" from the market (red circle icon), open this app and it give you an option to boot to bootloader/recovery, see if you phone still reboot without touching your power button.
Tried that. Same result.

Are you sure your battery is fully charged? If not plug in your phone leave over night and try again.

OK, then you should call Verizon and get another one. I think something is wrong with your hardware. Sorry.
I just had the same problem, then the next day it stopped working altogether. I just paid, yesterday as a matter a fact, 30 bucks to have my power button replaced. So far, so go! Just find a reputable cell phone repair company in your area.

I know what your talking about and it's only happened to me after updating to 4.3 OTA.
The power/phone options menu I'm talking about is the power button long press.
Well, this comes up without touching the button. It's like it's some kind of static, because it'll do it several times in a row while randomly shutting off the screen, etc.
Very frustrating.

It might not be a 4.3 problem but a physical problem. This is a extreme case but your phones might be on there way. If you are having the same problem as this thread the fix should work for you. The reason I don't think its the update is because it doesn't happen to me.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611166

Just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen to others. Come on.
I'm having a similar issue and it didn't start until I updated.

I didn't say it wasn't I said I don't think. Chill out
At least 5 times a day when I try to turn on my phones screen I'm unable to do do and I'm forced to reboot it. I don't think the issue is with the ROM because I've encountered the same problem on multiple Roms.
Does anyone have an idea what may be causing this?

sounds like sod(sleep of death). it can be a rom issue, a kernel issue, an app issue, or you need to raise voltages.
OK thanks, I'll investigate

I've just applied the incremental update to my opo.
Since then I'm getting lots of random reboots. 3 a day that I'm aware of.
Anyone else getting this? Is there a fix?
The phone is totally stock and uprooted.

I've seen a few people mention this. Unless you know the cause you can't fix it. Have you looked at your last_kmseg?

Well there is an update.
I am livid.
My phone random rebooted today and on reboot factory reset itself. I have lost everything. SMS Whatsapp chats & photos and now need to spend 2 hours setting it up again.
Why are these muppets releasing updates that aren't stable???
My phone reboots randomly too on cm nightly stock kernel

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced random Restarts with their S7?
Mine has restarted without warning about 3 times, then the last 2 nights it's frozen completely then restarted.
I've read that the only way to fix this is to do a factory reset. But no where states what the problem actually is. Should I be worried?

On Italian forums a lot of people is experiencing random reboots with both flat and edge. I guess high leaking chips with too low voltage
In france too
sous GS7
Getting it every day in middle night, seen it only once but notice every morning because i have to type my pin instead of fingerprint. S7 snapdragon variant.
I had those resets when I bought memory card. Formating SD card from my phone helped. No more resets since.

Yea, no sd card here. Im going to chat up samsung about it later
Sorry to bring this thread up from dormant. I'm using G930A running 7.0. I bought this phone used and I have already experienced 3 reboots. In first 2 times, the screen freezes and I see corrupted, noise image where the top status bar was. The phone rebooted after 10s or so. The 3rd freeze/restart is right after the 2nd restart, when I was entering PIN.
Has anyone experienced restart with phone freezing and corrupted status bar? I need to decide if I should return the phone.
