Unlock the carrier locked phone - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

I bought my Mate 9 from Claro in Guatemala and I used it everywhere in Central America, even with non Claro cards. But now in Europe it's asking me for NCK sim unlock code. I tried with gsmunlockhub.com and they told me that they can't find the unlock code from their regular and premium databases. I also tried a local shop and they couldn't do it either. Do all companies have the access to the same database, ie will I be able to unlock my phone at all?
What are your unlocking experiences? Any website you recommend? Or is there a way to hack it somehow? So frustrated with this carrier locking bullsh#t.

Hello Filipe.
I don't know any way of unlocking the sim for free on the newer phones.
I'm from Portugal too and I think that every store that sells cellphones unlocks the SIM. My father took his phone to a store to unlock it and he payed 15 euros I guess. it's not to expensive
Best regards,
kaeOzZ
Are you trying to unlock the sim from the network or unlock the phone from the network ?

The phone from the network
There is many different techniques usable through just googling and seeing whats out there however i believe the easiest/most secure way is paying the providers fee :crying:
However their are lot of websites that say you can do it but most say it still costs you would need to find the one for your phone + network etc so i cant really help that much but send in a thumbs up if i have

[Q] So I have an unlockable phone...

Hi guys.
I won a phone from Samsung in a event they were hosting in downtown toronto. It took them a while but I finally got the phone!!!
Unfortunately its locked to a network im not a customer with - Im on contract with another.
I've paid 3 seperate websites (Canada GSM, Cellunlocker.net, and Unlock Genius) but nobody can find the IMEI in their database! I paid the carrier its locked with - but even they couldnt find it!!!
Do i have a ghost phone? Is there anyway to unlock it other than the unlock code?
Thanks.
try http://www.fastgsm.com/en
Thanks Tomerbi for the advice, but I doubt they'll be able to find it considering 3 other websites couldnt (Paypal is having a field day, freezing the refunds as they come in).
What's the model number of the phone? For example mine is an international unlocked SM-G920F. Perhaps there is a region lock on it? The unlock sites can't do anything about that.
SM-G920W8 - Im using a sim from the appropriate region of the world, and briefly used a sim from the network it is locked to!
Looks like its a Canadian phone. And you're using it in Canada. Strange.
And when you put in the sim card for the network it is locked to that doesn't work either? Then what network were they expecting you to use it on when they gave it to you?
Its locked to Telus - Telus connections do work in the phone. Only type that do work. Just that nothing else does, and Telus doesnt have the IMEI in their database.

Unlock carrier phone

I got my Mate 9 through Claro Guatemala. Anyone knows any trusted place to carrier unlock it online? I understand there's no free option, but few that I've seen are either pricey or don't support that carrier.

Unlock LG V50 network

Hi,
We don't get LG V50 in Romania, but i found a way to import it. the issue is that the phone will be network locked.
Is there a chance i will not be able to network unlock it (super important)?
Will local 5g work (not important) ?
Thanks

You can only network unlock it through original carrier. Don't go for a network locked one. If you're importing, you can get a sprint unlocked one for less than $300
I only have 1 option. A guy bought it from England, and it comes with the package and the second screen. That is why i was asking. So you can only unlock it at the original carrier? Are all youtube videos showing how to unlock Fake? Where you submit your EMAI to a site

Well there's legit sites that do it, but none work for the v50 afaik. It might at some point, but there's also a decent chance it won't.

Question Boost Carrier locked S22 Ultra Snapdragon USA

I recently purchased an S22 Ultra from swappa for my wife. This phone is not stolen or financed. I've never had an issue getting any carrier to unlock a phone that has been paid off, but apparently Boost Mobile requires that any Boost Mobile carrier locked phone be active on their network for at least a year before they'll release the unlock code, even if the phone is paid off. At this point I have an expensive paperweight. Can anyone point me in a direction to get this phone carrier unlocked without the help of the carrier? I'm fairly comfortable with ADB, Fastboot and ODIN. I'd love any suggestions that anyone may have.

There is no service currently available to unlock carrier locked models. Was it sold as a boost locked model on Swappa and you were expecting to get it unlocked by Calling boost mobile? Return the phone if you have an option.
It was sold properly. I've just never had an issue calling the carrier to get it unlocked. Thank you for your reply. I will see if it can be returned

Search boost mobile samsung unlock service on eBay and see what comes up. I see a few for the s20 plus you may want to message them and seenif s22 is possible they might be willing to try with no change if unsuccessful. Good luck.

I think you'll have some luck with some of these vendors because you have an iphone. The problem I'm having is that Samsung just upgraded their bootloader and so these services aren't able to crack the encryption yet. My phone is still locked to Boost at the moment.

I am working with TheUnlockingCompany and was losing faith. They emailed me and said the official Boost policy doesn't effect there ability to unlock. I am still a little wary of that, I bought the phone on FB marketplace so there's almost no recourse. Luckily it wasn't a lot of money invested, truly do not want to switch my number to boost however. There customer support is trash and that policy is a scam.
Did unlocking company tell you why they were unable?
The unlocking company and all of the other companies I checked was unable to unlock my phone because Samsung upgraded their bootloader recently on my phone and they were unable to gain the proper access to my phone in order to remove the network lock. Right now I have an expensive paperweight I'm checking with a company in the UK that claims they can just provide the unlock code for my specific phone. They claim they can take two weeks, but that is my last ditch effort.

The phone doesn't ask for a code when you insert a non Boost SIM, so therefore any service or website claiming to provide a "code" is nothing more than a scam, since you have nowhere to type one in anyways.
There is a way to get it SIM unlocked, but it's not fast or cheap, and you also have to mail the phone off

Yeah, i know. By default, on U firmware, it doesn't ask for a code. So therefore no code exists and no service or website can provide you a code, since one doesn't exist
Carriers have sadly pretty much locked down unlocking methods from the past where they provide and let you enter unlock codes. Now they do it from their server end once you request it. On Samsung phones you do this by going to settings- connections-more connection settings- network unlock- permanent unlock.

Only on T-Mobile and Metro phones. All other carriers are totally different

Please pardon my ignorance about the topic but I have question. I happened to buy a SM-S908U1 unit via eBay but it turned out to be locked to T-Mobile. The phone asks for an unlock code when I enter a Mint Mobile SIM card which was supposed to be compatible with the phone according to the listing. Can a genuine SM-S908U1 model be locked to a network or my phone was also flashed with U1 firmware?
