Unlock LG V50 network - LG V50 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hi,
We don't get LG V50 in Romania, but i found a way to import it. the issue is that the phone will be network locked.
Is there a chance i will not be able to network unlock it (super important)?
Will local 5g work (not important) ?
Thanks

You can only network unlock it through original carrier. Don't go for a network locked one. If you're importing, you can get a sprint unlocked one for less than $300

I only have 1 option. A guy bought it from England, and it comes with the package and the second screen. That is why i was asking. So you can only unlock it at the original carrier? Are all youtube videos showing how to unlock Fake? Where you submit your EMAI to a site

Well there's legit sites that do it, but none work for the v50 afaik. It might at some point, but there's also a decent chance it won't.

I tried them - they returned my money - "unable to unlock at present time".
Which service did you use?
I was trying to unlock the Atrix 2 too . Which service were you trying ? Has anyone unlocked the atrix yet? I think i saw a video showing the unlock procedure from one of the service providers.
will one of these from the link not work?
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...atrix+2+unlock+code&_sacat=See-All-Categories
i have unlocked sim on other devices by calling att and having them do it.
someone reported att refusing to unlock their A2 though.
you will need to call and tell them that you are travelling and need to sim unlock the phone. they will do a customer check (see if you're activity with att warrants allowing you to get the unlock code).
doesn't hurt to try
i doubt 3rd party unlocking places will be able to do it at this point.

Galaxy S Relay 4G: Work in Europe?

I live in Italy and correctly use a Motorola Droid 4 Verizon.
I would like to buy a Samsung S Relay 4G but I do not know if this also works with the SIM and European networks.
Can you tell me if it works?
Thanks a lot.

Hi neighbour, yes it works. I have mine from Canada. the phone is penta-band that works also in Europe. You may need to unlock the SIM when you buy it from the US.

No, he means SIM unlock, while I meant if you buy it from Canada for example, it is mainly already unlocked, so was mine. US ones are locked by standard.
When you have one with sim locked, you can unlock it from unlocking websites or do it by yourself as the instructions here on the forum
All Relays come locked from the factory to only work on the t-mobile network. You can unlock them for free, though I hear you may have to start with the old firmware to do so, and then update it once you're done. That's still not hard, we have the files on this forum to flash the old firmware.
i have mine from canadagsm.ca and it was (brandnew but) unlocked already. thats why I thought in Canada it is mainly unlocked in general. But I think I also read that all the phones from canadagsm are unlocked.
This phone is a t-mobile exclusive, so they all come locked from the factory. That doesn't mean there aren't places which buy them new, unlock them, and then re-sell them. It just means that Canada isn't a magical country where phones aren't locked. Sadly.
Works well in France.

Did you buy a code online? or there is a software to do it (e.g. adb)?

Has anyone verified if UMTS/900Mhz is supported? I've googled this and there are conflicting information:
Sites that say UMTS/900MHz is supported:
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=3791
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206523
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Relay_4G
http://www.canadagsm.ca/products-Samsung_Galaxy_S_Relay_4G_T699_Penta_Band
And then sites that say it isn't:
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SGH-T699DABTMB-specs
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_relay_4g_t699-4914.php
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482670
What's the conclusion? If the phone is locked into T-Mobile's network, then it doesn't support and if it's unlocked then it supports? Or culd it be that stock ROM doesn't support UMTS/900MHz but installing some custom ROM enables it? ... Or could there be multiple variants of this phone?
PS. Could someone list all supported UMTS frequencies from unlocked T699:
Type "phone number": *#*#197328640#*#*
Then it should open menu, choose following entry: "[x] UMTS..."
Then it lists all supported UMTS frequencies, like this: http://www.howardforums.com/attachme...2&d=1280324484 (screenshot isn't from T699)
I took this guide from here: http://androidforums.com/samsung-gal...-galaxy-s.html

LG Developer Boot Loader unlock for the TIM (Itallian version of this phone)

The T-Mobile version of the LG G7 can legally have it's bootloader unlocked.
http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/IssueDeviceInfo.dev
I just though I'd put this here. This should open the door for TWRP recovery.
If you use the legal way to unlock your bootloader, you will not be able to use Google Pay or other payment systems. While these systems are convenient, the less places my money can be accessed, the better.
I want to get the LG G7 PLUS when I finally save up money as it has 128 GB internal storage. If I can help development in anyway, I will.
wrong section buddy
Well I actually tried yesterday when I found out, and after putting all the info of the phone the website gave me an error saying that the actual model of the T-Mobile variant is LMG710TMP...."P"... I was frustrated cuz the phone model in the settings is LMG710TM not LMG710TMP, Jesus..
Anybody tried it and get it to work?
@bigjohnman
Your assumption/information is totally wrong. LMG710TM means LG G7 for italian carrier TIM. It has nothing to do with T-mobile.

Well both this website, and my T-mobile phone "in settings > device model" says that it is the LMG710TM, I can confirm it but there is a problem with their unlocking website because when I try to unlock it gives an error.
https://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-LMG710TM-g7-thinq-tmobile
There's no problem with LG unlocking site at all. Your phone isn't eligible for unlocking because it isn't an European LGM710TM mentioned on dev site. For the list of supported devices see screenshot.
Your phone is LGM710TM variant for T-mobile US = LGM710TMP.
T-mobile site states clearly (s. screenshot) that their G7 has a model number LGM710TMP.
As simply as that.

I understand that , my point is that LG website where I go this phone from and also my phone itself say to be the 710TM model not TMP . which is weird and annoying after you were told it was a different model
Hmmm, sorry to get some T-Mobile users hopes up... Telecom Italia Mobile users, You're welcome, or "Prego" as they say in Italy.
May as well delete this thread.

That's really pity for T-mobile customers. So far I know all recent T-mobile phones have a locked bootloader with no possibility to official unlock them. It's T-mobile requirement to manufactures.
Anyway the thread title is misleading and has to be changed.
Well, that sucks! Can't wait to get rid of LG's horrendous version of Android and flash LineageOS.

I brought an LG G7 here in Australia at a bargain a couple of months back. It shows T-mobile during bootup. But the model number is LM-G710TM while the software version is G710TM10p and build OPR.170623.032. I am now worried if LG-G710TM is the Italian model, not T-mobile, I got some Frankenstein phone. It does not have the manufacturer warranty anymore, but a 1 year seller warranty.

Hello and welcome to XDA
The European/Global model number is LMG710EM, I live in Italy and own a G7 with such model number bought new.
Isn't there a way to load EM firmware on the T-mobile version? Would love to get rid of that startup logo anyway

Question Boost Carrier locked S22 Ultra Snapdragon USA

I recently purchased an S22 Ultra from swappa for my wife. This phone is not stolen or financed. I've never had an issue getting any carrier to unlock a phone that has been paid off, but apparently Boost Mobile requires that any Boost Mobile carrier locked phone be active on their network for at least a year before they'll release the unlock code, even if the phone is paid off. At this point I have an expensive paperweight. Can anyone point me in a direction to get this phone carrier unlocked without the help of the carrier? I'm fairly comfortable with ADB, Fastboot and ODIN. I'd love any suggestions that anyone may have.

There is no service currently available to unlock carrier locked models. Was it sold as a boost locked model on Swappa and you were expecting to get it unlocked by Calling boost mobile? Return the phone if you have an option.
It was sold properly. I've just never had an issue calling the carrier to get it unlocked. Thank you for your reply. I will see if it can be returned

I think you'll have some luck with some of these vendors because you have an iphone. The problem I'm having is that Samsung just upgraded their bootloader and so these services aren't able to crack the encryption yet. My phone is still locked to Boost at the moment.

I am working with TheUnlockingCompany and was losing faith. They emailed me and said the official Boost policy doesn't effect there ability to unlock. I am still a little wary of that, I bought the phone on FB marketplace so there's almost no recourse. Luckily it wasn't a lot of money invested, truly do not want to switch my number to boost however. There customer support is trash and that policy is a scam.
Did unlocking company tell you why they were unable?
The unlocking company and all of the other companies I checked was unable to unlock my phone because Samsung upgraded their bootloader recently on my phone and they were unable to gain the proper access to my phone in order to remove the network lock. Right now I have an expensive paperweight I'm checking with a company in the UK that claims they can just provide the unlock code for my specific phone. They claim they can take two weeks, but that is my last ditch effort.

The phone doesn't ask for a code when you insert a non Boost SIM, so therefore any service or website claiming to provide a "code" is nothing more than a scam, since you have nowhere to type one in anyways.
There is a way to get it SIM unlocked, but it's not fast or cheap, and you also have to mail the phone off

Yeah, i know. By default, on U firmware, it doesn't ask for a code. So therefore no code exists and no service or website can provide you a code, since one doesn't exist
Carriers have sadly pretty much locked down unlocking methods from the past where they provide and let you enter unlock codes. Now they do it from their server end once you request it. On Samsung phones you do this by going to settings- connections-more connection settings- network unlock- permanent unlock.

Please pardon my ignorance about the topic but I have question. I happened to buy a SM-S908U1 unit via eBay but it turned out to be locked to T-Mobile. The phone asks for an unlock code when I enter a Mint Mobile SIM card which was supposed to be compatible with the phone according to the listing. Can a genuine SM-S908U1 model be locked to a network or my phone was also flashed with U1 firmware?
