Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ antenna tuning anyone?! - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Has anyone played with S8/S8+ antenna? Tuning or calibrating? I was playing with my old S6 Edge+ back in the days and it was pain in the B** back then. I first messed up really bad than and needed 2-3 days to set it up back and even had boosted 30-40% signal. I really don't think I can manage that time again now. Anyone else???

Do you have any signal issues with the Inspire? i am thinking of coming back..

thinking of coming back to the inspire but i want to make sure there are no cell signal issues with the inspire. have you all had any probs? how was it fixed?
Thank you
Why would u ask that? Did you?
I've never had any signal problem... I hardly have 5 notches out of 5 though even with 2 I m able to speak with no loss of quality...

gees...
Yeah, the signal strength with the stock radio for me is sub par as compared to the slew of other phones I have laying around here. Its always way down as compared to every other phone I have, even my iphone, which was the reigning king of crap signal. Maybe its possible to get a better signal with a different radio, I dont know? Its mainly just affected in building call performance, and definitely data performance. BUT I love this phone and am going to live with it. I have even thought about trying to rig up an antenna of some sort to experiment. I might try to solder a coil of wire onto the lower antenna/cover, probably wont work but I its an easy experiment.
btw I have tried different roms and reflashed the stocker a bunch of times experimenting with little to no change minus my gps randomly going away after some flashes.
Are we back in high school? What's with all these back and forth comments? Why not help the OP instead of going off topic?
And to reply to the OP, I personally haven't had any (cell) signal problems. The area you are in and how congested it is also a major factor.

Wifi or LTE troubles

so i happen to be in the wrong section for the HTC One X (International Verision) and i was reading a thread where alot of people were having wifi connectivity issues. So i tried to do what they were doing to replicate the problem (even though nothing happend, Pressing the back of the phone, checking for a faulty connection) Now that i tried doing it and they told me it has the LTE radio there instead of the wifi one, will my LTE suffer now that i tried it? i fear that i actually bent the connection pins.
Are you in an LTE area?
Didn't you mama ever tell you don't mess with things that aren't broke?

i will be back home tomorrow so yes, i will be. and yes my mama did. but like i said i was in the international section, and i thought my phone would be affect too.
The at&t one X only has one radio its built into the chip so I would say that if you have signal at all you didn't hurt anything.
If you get good LTE signal and speed when you're back in the LTE area, I wouldn't worry about it.
Makes me think of the old joke:
Patient: Doc, it hurts when I do this.
Doctor: Then don't do that

The radio itself is built into the snapdragon S4 chip. It's the antennas you need to worry about
take a look at this http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/cr...rnal-design-that-isnt-diy-repair-friendly/594

These people are just nuts. There are some horrible "hammer tests" which I can't stand at all. If you're that stupid, you deserve to have a broken phone.

I guess phones are demo phones for retailers that can't be used for anything else anyway
More importantly, I'd like to know the post-testing results. Able to dry out and work like new? Any screwy controls/gross display issues? Would be cool knowing that if my phone did happen to take a dip it wouldn't mean an automatic send-off to the manufacturer.

Funny you should say that, I had a similar problem with my S2, some sort of debris got into the port, and it blew the whole charging PCB ! Found one instantly on ebay tho so it was clearly a known issue.

What real life scenario do these "hammer tests" replicate? Of course it will smash your phone if you use a bloody hammer! As for water/beer test, not as worse, but still silly. And doesn't prove a thing either, mind.

Anyone know or replaced the dire speaker ?

Guys, loving the N5 but HATE the speaker, i have run custom roms, tweaks but frankly - my opinion, dire !
Has anyone though about a replacement, better alternative ?
As gonna dive in and possibly take a look ?
Thanks
When have you EVER heard of replacing a proprietary speaker in a cell phone with an "alternative" or "upgraded" speaker? Let alone there even being one available?

This post is no different than the other 50 post complaining about the speaker in various ways. There are zip files to flash, kernels with sound management, and so on. I don't think anyone has attempted to replace the speaker, although they have stuck a hot needle into the holes to make them bigger Some guy has attempted to put the g2 battery into his nexus. You can be that guy attempting to put a new speaker in his nexus 5.
Good luck

Your obviously NOT an engineer and i would also guess, have not alot of foresight either, it's called lateral thinking, out of the box.
Kind regards
(I was just asking!)
Dam bruh might as well add a subwoofer and a amp and stereo speakers man.

Yes, obviously I'm not an engineer; I'm just going by the years of experience with phones and NEVER seeing a "upgraded replacement" speaker available for a phone...ever. :good:
Couldn't you just plug in whatever external speaker system you desire? Coupled with V4A you'd have a nice music setup.
Just don't use the top 3 volume levels when using a 3.5mm accessory as it has serious cross talk issues.

Could be one of the adaptive battery settings; known troublemakers. This feature though has eluded me for over a year on the 10+ And not a clue why even after spending a bunch of time playing with it

I tried that apk on the 10+ running on Pie, no joy and that apk itself was a real bloody pain.... grrrrr.
For whatever reason(s) edge lighting has never worked. I could try playing with it again... last couple times were a waste of time.
Probably a apk conflict or settings issue but I never found it... meh.
OP, Thanks for reminding me of this gremlin
Hope you find a solution here as it may backwards applicable.

Lol, that's reassuring. A long history of fail.
I just looked over my settings and it should be active.
Damned if I see it anymore (it works for a couple days once, long, long ago).
I reset it to factory load, the only possible option left; no power management is active.
I'll double check my blocked apks just for amusement.
Guess I'll wait and see if this takes:laugh:

Bah-ha-ha-ha... it never uses any battery (yes, well) so I completely forgot it was enabled.
Guess it could be one of the mystery apks under Android Services sucking battery though.

I have something like 86 blocked apks now. All but 6 or so of those are never needed. Lol, less run time, less trouble.
Sometimes with new apps I'll block them until I sort them out or throw them out.
