Screen will not stay OFF during a phone call - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

I recently started having an issue that when I make a phone call and then hit my power button to turn the screen off, it keeps popping back on after a few seconds. It will not stay off.
I dont think its a proximity sensor issue because when I hold it to my face or cover it with my finger, the screen will go off.
Its not good because when I make a call and then turn the screen off and put it in my pocket, the screen will come on and buttons get activated. I have noticed that if I dial and THEN hit HOME key and then use power button to deactivate, screen will stay off. But I dont always remember to do it that way and dont understand why suddenly just using the power button no longer works.
Any advice?

[Q] Take me to home screen when pressing the power button

Hi guys
Does ne1 know of an app that'll take me to my home screen when I press the power button? Sometimes when I turn off my screen I'm reading an email or something. And then when I switch on my phone again I'm shown the screen/app I was in when I turned it off.
I like my phone to always (automatically) show my my home screen when I turn on the screen - can this be done?

[Q] how to track down the app that causes delays in turning the screen on

Hi, my S3 has a problem in that if the screen turns off and I immediately (well, fairly soon) press the home button or side power button to wake it up again.. there is a very long delay... so much that I only use the home button now, because I keep clicking the side button and often by the time the screen wakes up, it will have gone back to sleep because I had pressed the power button again.
So now I use home because home will not turn the screen off, only on.
Anyhow I'm sure it must be due to some app doing some processing when the screen goes off...
my question is, how do I track down the app? I have no idea which one it is
I have no problem to get the screen to turn on immediately, if some time has passed... let's say 30 seconds.. but often you need to turn the screen back on after it has timed out, so it's annoying to have to wait 10 seconds after immediately pressing the button.
btw. I use Cyanogenmod (android 4.3) but I don't think it's the cause because I don't remember this behaviour when I first installed it.
any ideas? thanks

[Q]How to prevent black screen during calls

I'm running all stock on my Nexus 5 with 4.4.2. If I talk on the phone with it next to my ear the screen turns on and off as it should, so I know that the proximity sensor works. If I use the speaker phone and have the phone away from me, the screen goes black after a minute (which is what I have the screen timeout set to). The only way I can get it to wake up is to hit the power button. This is not a big deal except if I want the power button to end calls. Is there a way to wake the screen after it times out without using the power button? Or, is there a way to tell the phone not to shut off the screen during calls?
Thanks in advance.

Nexus 5- Screen won't turn on after call

As the title says the phone's screen won't turn on after I ended a longer call, i have to press the power button to get the screen working.
Did it happen to you also?I have this phone for 2 months but it never happened in the beginning, this seems to be a recent issue.
Is it a hardware issue or a software bug?I've tested the proximity sensor and it works just fine as much i can tell, it switches the screen of and on, it never happened to wake the screen during a call and to activate random keys.
Another strange thing that i noticed during a call:If have the keypad up and i lay the phone horizontally the screen won't turn off if i hover my hand over the proximity sensor but if i put the phone vertically the screen goes off or if i hide the keypad the screen also goes instantly off.

19/6 ParanoidAndroid w/ AK269 - 'SCREEN DOESN'T TURN ON'

Does anyone else get this issue:
Sometimes, when I try to unlock my phone, the screen remains black. Sometimes the capacative buttons light up, but not all the time. Double tapping doesn't turn the screen on, pressing the power button doesn't turn the screen on.
I just press and hold the power button when it happens to make the phone restart, and then it starts optimizing all the apps on start up as well. This has happened 3-4 times in the last day. Very annoying. Any ideas how to fix this would be much appreciated!
