As for updates, there won't be any official ones. Don't flash custom ROMs if you are selling, let the buyer decide what he wants. Just sell it stock.

I actually tried this forum yesterday and all the links say "site can't be reached". Thanks for the advise though.
*Edit* nevermind, I read where you had to open it up via browser. Thanks again.
Can't you just flash stock COS13.1 and let the buyer decide later?

Question for you or others... Do I need to wipe internal storage to flash stock? Or am I ok with wiping system, cache, dalvik and data, and flashing ROM and not have to worry about any old files being left behind? I ask because I did the second one and agent into file manager and got rid of anything that looked old, but still saw in the images and video files like 24 and 8 kbs. Should I worry about that even if I open it up and there's nothing there???
Thanka

If you flash from fastboot and include userdata_64.img then everything will be erased. If you want to be sure then wipe data, internal and system before reflashing stock.

Thanks. I actually downloaded the zips to my S8+ and used the oTG to transfer zips after wiping everything.

I was going to sell my one x so I was going to restore the phone and flash a stock rom. Well I thought I had transferred the stock rom zip but I didn't. This was after the rom, cache, data, and dalvik cache had been wiped. Well no big deal because I should have clean rom 4.5 on the phone so I thought I could flash that. The problem is I can't find the zip file. I'm not sure what happened to it because all I did was flash the rom a few months ago then I didn't do anything with the phone. So now I can't find the rom that was on my phone and the phone has no OS. Is there anything I can do?

R u on twrp? Just mount your phone via recovery and drag a Rom over
There have been cases of files on the SD being corrupted after flashing something from recovery, including ROM files. This may be the case, if you are really sure you just didn't delete or move it. A big file in LOST.DIR may be evidence of this.
Restore a nandroid, if you have it.
Otherwise you can push a ROM file using ADB. Or just relock the bootloader, and run the RUU, if you are trying to get back to stock to sell it anyway.

Hello XDA community,
I've rooted my HTC One X+ like 2 months ago.
I still got the latest stock ROM but I want to put a custom ROM on it.
Which is this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987885
I still got some questions about it since it will be the first time flashing a ROM, because the thread isn't really clear to me so I hope someone can help me out with a little bit more detailed guide than mentioned in the ROM thread.
1. Do I have to wipe all my data?
2. Is a dalvik wipe really needed?
I contacted the developer of the ROM he said I didn't have to but when I asked more things about it he didn't reply.
3. How to flash a boot.img?
I can't find a really good tutorial on that.
4. What's the really right order to perform this flash mentioned in above linked thread?
I hope anyone of you can help me out since most of the threads I've seen around people are *****ing about: you shouldn't do it if you don't know what you are doing blablabla.
Since I really want to learn something about it too.

FULL WIPE is clearly recommended when you want to flash another rom. That means (/boot) /system /data /cache /dalvik. You can try it without a FULL WIPE but that will causes errors in most cases.
You need a working HTC USB cable
You need working adb/fastboot, download it from here
You need latest HTC drivers, download it from here
You need a GOOD custom recovery, download it from here
Additionally you need a flashable rom + boot.img
When you got all these we can proceed with flashing a rom

Hello LS.xD,
Thanks for your reply.
I am not at home at the moment.
I will be in about 4.5 or 5 hours, so I will download everything then.
I got the recovery flashed already, so I can probably skip that.
My HTC drivers are probably outdated.
Since my HTC desktop programm had to update the last time I opened it.
And I downloaded the files of the ROM too.

By the way LS.xD,
I got 'CWM-based Recovery v6.0.3.2'. (That's what it says in the top when I am in recovery mode)
I got three wipe options:
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- wipe dalvik cache
These are all the wipes I got to perform AFTER installing the zip right? Because if you do it before you will wipe the zip file, is that right?

Its for a reason i recommended the recovery in my post. Pls install and THEN we can go on
and NO you first perform the wipe and then install a rom.
and pls uninstall HTC sync before using fastboot to flash boot.img as it will cause errors if you have htc sync installed.

One more question, what is a safe spot to put the ROM zip file on? So it doesn't get wiped? (HOX+ doesn't have a SD slot, just 64GB internal)

Thats totally safe as long as you dont WIPE or FORMAT /sdcard LOL
Probably a dumb question, but if you do a factory reset your music and pictures will be deleted, why doesn't the zip file be deleted? I will test it at home though. Factory reset, put the zip file on it, then factory reset again in recovery and look if the zip file still exists on my phone.

So i accidentally wiped the system using twrp. But i got it to work by using a usb flash drive n flashing a custom rom from there (paranoif android) And now ive been getting random reboots and crashes. I also flashed franco kernel. Also some system apps will not work properly, such as the calendar app. And i was thinking maybe thats because i wiped the system. Now i want to revert back to stock kikat without losing my root and unlocked bootloader. Im quite new to flashing roms and i find it easy using twrp. So how do i go about reverting back to stock, to see if those random crashes and reboots will go away?

Try re-flashing another rom, as PA is a beta ROM, and thats where you may be having your crashed apps

You can always flash the factory images here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701
You can flash any ROM and that should fix your issue
You will not lose your unlocked bootloader unless you flash the stock one which is in the factory images
Your bootloader will not relock unless you lock it yourself using fastboot. Flashing roms or factory images won't lock it by themselves.
And even if it somehow did, one fastboot command and you're unlocked again.
And as far as root goes....it takes 5 minutes to reroot.
So just flash whatever factory image you need and then custom recovery, and you're done. Maybe need to download superSU from play store after.

The crashes and reboots are because you didn't wipe data/factory reset and also didn't wipe dalvic/cache...
If you're keen on using a custom rom follow these steps:
1. Head over to recovery and wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvic/cache
2. Flash rom.zip and gapps.zip
3. Reboot!
Initial boot can take upto 10 minutes sometimes so be patient...
If you want to go fully stock then follow this thread:

Maybe your flashing a bad version of GApps since the force closes are on google Calander?
Are you using a 4.4.2 GApps?
Im on cataclysm now, and i believe no gapps needed since their included in the zip. Have had about 3 reboots, i believe their because of playstore downloading an update or something, and one caused by either bluetooth or hello messaging app. But who knows. Just one more thing, by me accidentally wiping the system shouldnt be the cause of my random crashes and reboots?

Why don`t you backup your user apps and data with TB and start fresh by flashing the stock image, reroot and reflash a custom rom in recovery. This will eliminate all errors and reboots.

Yes, just flash the factory image (flash-all.batt) in fastboot, reboot and setup the phone. Flash a custom recovery and flash the superSU.zip (1.94 is the latest).

I'm starting to experience lagginess in my HTC One M8. I thought I had remembered reading that every once in a while it was a good idea to RUU back to stock and then start fresh with whatever ROM I decide on, is this the case? If so is this the link to use: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...zip-ruu-m8vzw-5-0-1-s-off-onlynewest-t3047103 ? Just download the file, rename, flash in H-Boot, start the ROM, download Flashify and install newest TWRP, and then go from there?
Thanks in Advance.

Never read needing to RUU every so often. Do you do full wipes when you flash? You are correct on the method.

Hi,
Topic is maybe hard to understand but what I mean is that I finally got invite for OPT and i will sell my OPO to friend. She is very basic user so I was thinking to make device looking like you took it off box.
How I can install lasted official rom, delete root access and delete all my stuff from phone so is really empty and ready to new owner
I think unlocked bootloader don't affect OTAs or do it? If it affect then I need lock it back..
Thanks for tips

Use the advanced wipe menu in TWRP to wipe the entire phone (system, data, internal storage, cache, dalvik cache). Then use fastboot to flash the latest stock images, see section 8 of my guide thread for instructions on that. The unlocked bootloader won't affect OTA at all, so leave it unlocked just in case you need to flash something in future.
That's all you need to do.
Thanks, one guestion is that is Gapps include on this newest fastboot image Cm12.1? If my recovery and everything goes original, how i flash example opengapps?
And one tip, on your wonderful guide on section 8,link to newest rom is linked to Cm12.0, not really the newest Cm12.1

Gapps are included in the stock ROM, so no need to flash separately. I've fixed the link in my guide.
