Quick Charge Stopped Working - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

I've been charging my phone for like 1hr already and it just reached 58% from 10%. Before, I would get up to 90% from 10% in less than an hour. And my phone is charging at ~400 mA only, unlike before where I get ~800 mA. I even have 2 OEM chargers and both of them now charges my phone at ~400 mA only.

So, quick charging is not working on your phone still?
I noticed mine stopped working about 2 days ago, but, I didn't do any flash that day

Oh I see. I'm planning to rollback to Marshmallow and have stock Honor8. I'll check if that'll fix the quick charge

Just finished the rollback. It fixed the fast charging issue. I can now charge around ~1100 mA.

Good to know

hmmm,on mine it shows right(100% on WM and 98% on Android)..
And what about a charger? When I put a charger (when I use Android) to my mini, batery still on the same percentage? When I see it for example per one hour it is the same.

Ignore that... Wipe battery stats and dalvik cache in Recovery. Preferably after you're charged to 100% and don't unplug until reboot is finished

Really twrp doesn't have "wipe battery stats"? Haven't used it in awhile. More than likely your battery is about to kick it... happened to me twice now. It wouldn't charge all the way then wouldn't charge at all. Get on Amazon and buy a new one before this one kicks it completely.

I was having a problem with battery too recently (on stock, not this rom), and say my battery would go to 0 and phone would turn off
But then I would plug into a charger and turn it on and the batter would be at like 35% (according to the indicator)

Yeah that is a good indicator you need a new battery, according to US Cellular you're supposed to change it every six months... I say every year at least.

I thought that to but I switched batteries and same problem, my battery charges to about 50 then I restart and goes up to say 84 it usually shows. A higher number when I go into recovery as well

I know it's a pain to switch recoveries, but switch to clockwork wipe your battery stats and switch back.
Or flash v5, that will wipe your battery stats too

Batterystats.bin really won't help, android wipes the stats daily when battery gets near 100%. It could be hardware related because i have a G2 that will chew through the same batteries the speedy will run on all day in about 3 hours tops, so now the g2 stays on charge constantly

He said he couldn't get it near 100%. I'm just throwing stuff out there... it's definitely a hardware issue rather than software.

Boot-Loop

I'm running on CyanogenMod 10.1 , and out of nowhere, after using the phone for around 10 minutes, it loses all the signal, shuts down and starts boot looping for no reason at all, is there any way to fix this?
The only way i can get the phone to turn on is by removing the battery and letting it sit over night, or by placing it in the freezer for some minutes <.<
Maybe your battery died? How old is it? Is the problem only in this rom?

I've had the problem with a previous ROM, it is roughly one year old, and how can i check if the battery is damaged? Also, in the last couple of days it happens for no reason, even when im not touching the phone, it loses the signal and goes into boot-loop
Tell me how long your battery charge from about 10% to full?
10% to 80% charge faster than 80% to 100%?
When your battery full charge. Shutdown and remove it. Install battery again turn on. Will it drop power about 5 to 10%?

i agree, its probably your battery. buy an anker one much better than stock. but i do feel the need to mention that putting your mobile phone in the freezer for any length is very very very dangerous and can leave your device very FUBAR

give a try with different roms and kernels to see
if the issue persists probably it is a hardware problem
Any rom you would recommend? Also, which way is the most efficient to delete the rom etc without leaving anything, I read that my problems could also be caused by a bad recovery/rom install

Battery care

Can someone explain me the Battery Care feature?
As I understand, it will only charge the battery to 100% near the end time, which I have set to 7.15h AM.
However, I put the phone charging at midnight and I woke up at 3AM and the battery was already at 100% and still charging.
Can someone explain me how this feature works? I thought it worked like iOS 13, it charges the phone to 80% and only charges the remaining 20% near the End Time. But I think I'm thinking wrong.
Thanks.
It's supposed to charge to 80 and then slowly charge to 100 by the time u have set. But I've seen reports of it not working properly on the Zenfone 6

Now that I actually have this phone I see what the problem is.
The battery care feature works but it's broken. The times are broken I have mine set to work from 10pm to 7am but during that time period it doesn't work, however I noticed it DOES work from 10am to 7pm
So they have to fix that bug

Can confirm clearing storage works! It's one of the best features of the phone, especially for me who's used to overnight charging.
Thanks for sharing.
Another question - is it possible to connect zenfone6 to another phone and share its battery?
So the idea is zenfone6 working as a power bank.
Thanks!

It's very slow, there's no UI, and it's not supported by ASUS.
I wouldn't use this phone for that.

If you unlock your bootloader, the device will be wiped anyways.
You can try to investigate with Android battery history and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digibites.accubattery but it's not really detailed.
