Ignore that... Wipe battery stats and dalvik cache in Recovery. Preferably after you're charged to 100% and don't unplug until reboot is finished

Really twrp doesn't have "wipe battery stats"? Haven't used it in awhile. More than likely your battery is about to kick it... happened to me twice now. It wouldn't charge all the way then wouldn't charge at all. Get on Amazon and buy a new one before this one kicks it completely.

I was having a problem with battery too recently (on stock, not this rom), and say my battery would go to 0 and phone would turn off
But then I would plug into a charger and turn it on and the batter would be at like 35% (according to the indicator)

Yeah that is a good indicator you need a new battery, according to US Cellular you're supposed to change it every six months... I say every year at least.

Batterystats.bin really won't help, android wipes the stats daily when battery gets near 100%. It could be hardware related because i have a G2 that will chew through the same batteries the speedy will run on all day in about 3 hours tops, so now the g2 stays on charge constantly

Example: my battery says 50%, I reboot, and now it's down to about 40%.
What's the deal? Anyone else have this problem?
I'm running Das BAMF 1.6.2, stock kernel.
I've noticed since I got the tbolt day one. Im in the 15% range when reboot. My screen freeze after lightning strike for 3 minutes. Was hoping the new update would fix it but update now delayed. Never again will I be the first in line for phone.

The percentage drops but it stays at whatever that percentage is for an hour or five depending on how much I'm using my phone.
because your battery gauge is lying to you and not reporting accurately prior to reboot.

If not you need to do so, as this will fix your issue, and help your battery life.

What do you use to calibrate it? Wiping the battery stats?
Check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871051
Basically the meter is lying because keeping your phone at 100% while charged is not so good for long term life of the battery. So once you get a full charge it doesn't keep the battery full, and when you take it off the charger the meter quickly catches up to reality.
So don't worry, it's supposed to happen this way.

There are several threads explaining this but you just:
-Charge to 100% and boot into recovery
-Select advanced>wipe battery stats
-Use phone normally until battery dies and it powers off
-Charge back up to 100% (preferably while still off)
Edit- if you are running das bamf you can also clear them from the toolkit.

It will fix the issue that the OP is having of the phone dropping % drastically when they reboot. If you are talking about the phone dropping from 100 to 95% or so after you unplug, then no it won't, because that is actually a safety feature that you do not want to fix, unless of course you want to burn your phone up.

No your phone stores how long it takes to die charge etc. and when you change roms these stats obviously change and therefore wiping the stats allows the phone to really calibrate to the new rom. At least I think that's how it is.

This happens to me and it annoys me everytime it does it. I dont know why for some reason this is a recurring thing with HTC phones.
My battery drops 10-15% rather quickly when I unplug it but I believe this is actually normal with newer Li-Ion charging techniques.
Mine drops about 5% after a reboot. I reset my batteries stats today and hope that will improve my battery life, but I must say I got about 8 eight hours today with fairly heavy use and a few reboots.
for the past 3 days, this is what it does after just a random reboot. This was from this morning. *A huge drop in battery life*.
Now granted, have charged it a few times just until i can get to a moment where I can charge it fully without unplugging it.
Just for my own clarification, do you see the huge drop in battery power after the sudden reboot? If so, I'm wondering if the battery isn't bad, telling the phone it doesn't have a charge, and the phone shuts down/reboots.
Was anything done to the phone prior to this problem (new ROM, new kernel, rooted, etc.) other than calibrating the battery? What were you using to calibrate?

LOL. I flashed the Octane rom by raver. I don't have another battery to test it out, but It's happened a couple times with different roms. Usually when I calibrate, on a full charge at 4.2v, I wipe the stats about 2x's in cwm, then calibrate with the app, then unplug then plug again to boost it back to 4.2v then calibrate again. All of this just to make sure it's calibrated. may be overkill.

I hear ya. I usually do that two or three times, too. All calibration does is, like you said, wipe the stats. The reboot is weird, though, as it's followed by that sudden drop in battery. Could be the battery is faulty. I wish I had more insight to help you.

Heyy after calibrating the battery how long does it usually take to see the effects of extra battery life?
I've seen varying answers on that ranging from 1 day to a few days. A lot of calibrate after flashing a new ROM, so that might add a bit of time as the system rebuilds caches and whatnot. I would think that you would only need to do the full calibration once before starting to see the effects.
I usually do the calibration then go through letting it (almost) fully die, then do a full recharge 2 or 3 times.

I don't do anything different when I let it die. I just let it happen through normal use. I guess if you wanted to accelerate it, that would work.
I'm not an expert in battery, but it looks to me like you're putting alot of stress on your battery from the constant wiping, calibrating, and letting it die. I'm not sure but i heard that letting it die too often is a bad thing. Have you tried calibrating it and just use it like normal?
Well err. I just calibrated my battery but it's still going down quickly. I lose like 5% battery in less than 10 minutes

very odd, I've actually experienced the inverse. Charge would hold at like 20% and then jump to 10% in a second. Are you noticing in use there is a jump back down i.e. when you unplug, does it jump from 100% straight to 90% or does this just happen when charging. If it just happens with charging, I'd say run current widget and see how much mA is left when it makes the jump to 100% and see if the battery is actually charging correctly. In other words, if you're charging and the battery jumps from 90 to 100 and you still have like 200 mA left, something is goofy with your battery and I'd recommend a new battery or at the very least full wiping and reflashing your ROM.
If it jumps and the remaining mA is like 30 or something low, then the actual battery seems to be fine and I'd recommend a full wipe and reflash the rom you're using. In all honestly, it's probably the battery and may just be worth getting a new one.

Im not attacking you im just trying to clarify. Are you saying it jumps to 100%, meaning you see it say 100% or are you referring to the led going green at about 90%?
I'm not convinced it is a battery issue... I've only very recently rooted my phone (have had it for 11 months) and haven't had the charge indicator jump past the last 10% like it did just today.
Looking at the last 26hours of history (ICS 3.0.0 install), the initial battery discharge showed normal taper from 100-85%, however on charge it jumped from somewhere just below 90% to 100% instantaneously.
I should have taken a screenshot, but instead I wiped the battery stats and am in the initial discharge cycle still. I've had the phone 11 months and have never cleared the battery stats before.
Maybe 8 months old.

Run the battery down until the phone dies. I have had this happen to me before. When I got down to 1%, it took a really long time for the phone to die. Recharging and doing a couple of long cycles of letting the battery go down to a really low level before charging fixed it. Do not delete battery stats as it does no good.

I don't necessarily use it to calibrate but to monitor the mV. It might help in seeing if it is in fact a bad battery or if your battery indicator is showing a false reading.

Sounds more like a battery calibration issue than a battery issue.
Give it a bit of thought... from 90% it skips to 100% when charging. However at 1% it camps out for an hour or more before shutting off. This indicates an issue with how the charge of the battery is being measured/expressed...
Now let's think about what is happening behind the scenes. This measure of charge is "defined as the available capacity expressed as a percentage of some reference, sometimes its rated capacity but more likely its current (i.e. at the latest charge-discharge cycle) capacity but this ambiguity can lead to confusion and errors. It is not usually an absolute measure in Coulombs, kWh or Ah of the energy left in the battery which would be less confusing. "
Essentially, the way the phone is measuring the battery isn't working correctly. However, is the duration of the battery life what you would expect given your use of it?
If YES, then it's a measuring issue.
I'm running on CyanogenMod 10.1 , and out of nowhere, after using the phone for around 10 minutes, it loses all the signal, shuts down and starts boot looping for no reason at all, is there any way to fix this?
The only way i can get the phone to turn on is by removing the battery and letting it sit over night, or by placing it in the freezer for some minutes <.<

i agree, its probably your battery. buy an anker one much better than stock. but i do feel the need to mention that putting your mobile phone in the freezer for any length is very very very dangerous and can leave your device very FUBAR
Ordering an Anker battery right now! thanks everyone

no guys
it is a htc common issue after rooting the device
no one has found a solution yet
also if you reboot the device while charging it it will jump to a higher percentage of charge
edit:but mazune in your situation i think you have a problem with your battery(shuts down, booloops, loosing signal etc...)

Anker battery cost me about 18 $ very cheap from amazon
Finally got the new battery and I still have the same problem, any idea how to fix it, maybe a new rom and wiping everything?

give a try with different roms and kernels to see
if the issue persists probably it is a hardware problem
Any rom you would recommend? Also, which way is the most efficient to delete the rom etc without leaving anything, I read that my problems could also be caused by a bad recovery/rom install

begin with arhd rom from mike's thread
it is the closest to the stock
before flashing the rom do:
nandroid backup from recovery just in case
full wipe from recovery
flash the rom

post the bootloader details(i don't think i will find something there wrong there but just say)
So this is my issue, the battery percentage seems to fluctuate badly, there will be one instance where it will charge till 75% and then stop charging and it will say like 1 minute till full charge then never go beyond 75%.
Another instance is the battery will go down really quickly to 1% then it will operate on 1% for like upto 2 hours and then shut down finally.
Things I've done so far.
Changed rom clean flash, wiped caches, flashed stock in odin.
The only thing now is my bootloader is from an older firmware than the rom firmware currently installed which is cas rom.
Any insight or help would be great full. Thank you
Bump, does this sound like a hardware battery issue?

It's very annoying because I never know how much battery I actually have left, I have to always have my portable charger with me just in case

I would simply first try another cable and also wall adaper. If this doesnt change anything, make a backup and go FULL stock. Not just flashing some oartitions, but your last stock ROM completely. If this doesn't make a change, then it probably is your battery, that is faulty. Try to have Samsung exchange it then. I just hope that we won't have similar problems, as the Note and S7 ppl.
