Lollipopo vs. Nougat bootloader - Xiaomi Mi 4C

Hi All,
I'm on Lollipop bootloader. I remember that I haven't got any answer from Xiaomi to unlock the bootloader but I could install cm 13 somehow dirty way.
If there any method to make the same with Nougat bootloader because I have made a try again but SMS didn't arrived ?
What is the advantages of the Nougat bootloader? Can I use Nougat blobs with the old bootloader?
best regards, gcsuri

Sometimes SMS does not arrive. You have to verify directly within the app.
Also, permission is transmissible meaning you can burrow an account that already has unlocking permissions.
You can't install a ROM that uses Nougat bootloader, like RR 5.8.3, if you have lollipop bootloader. That's all.

Thanks, that worked well; It required an old version of miflash:

Questions from new owner

Hello,
I will get Xperia XZ tommorow so i've got some questions.
Probably i will unlock a bootloader and install some custom rom. Which one rom is most worth installing? And how is camera quality after bootloader unlock on custom rom? Is it worth to unlock it, root and install custom anyway?
Thanks!

Did not notice camera loss of quality.
Yes unlock and root, this phone is great but stock battery is not good. With some tweak you'll regain that.

Fast firmware downloads website ( All Moto phones )

Searching around this forum, I have found that many people use some hosting websites for the Moto firmwares that we sometimes need. Anyways I found an alternative website that hosts all of the firmwares ( even for other phones ) and its incredibly fast for download . Hope this helps out ...
https://firmware.center/firmware/Motorola/Moto G4 (Plus)/Stock/
As always, it's up to users to verify a particular firmware is safe and appropriate for their device, as different variants of the firmware may flash okay onto your device, but may cause you issues down the line, for example, ineligibility for OTA updates if you flash the incorrect build for your software channel.
Though it's tempting to flash Marshmallow builds or Nougat builds older than your device firmware from the Firmware Centre, be aware that if you do downgrade, please do not use OTA updates, only use stock firmware to update. Using OTA updates when you've downgraded can hard brick your device, and necessitate the use of a blankflash to recover your device. https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-hardbrick-solved-guide-t3657761
As far as I know, the latest firmware for India, Brazil, Mexico, EU and UK, at least, is NPJS25.93-14-13 (Dec 2017).
For the US, it's NPJ25.93-14.7 (though you may be offered the NPJ25.93-14.7-3 Dec 2017 update, but I've not seen firmware offered for that build yet).
For other regions I do not have firm info on what build they receive via OTA.
I do not know what happened but download the latest version for my motorcycle g4 XT1625 NPJ25.93-14.5 with bootloader unlocked and root, I wanted to return my phone to the factory version without root, everything was installed very well but when I reach the language screen from there I do not pass alone I get the message configuration fault if someone thinks it could have happened please share the information, thanks.

1)Are you able to upload a screenshot or photo of the fault you mentioned please?
2)What commands did you flash and did you see [OKAY] with all of them?
3)Can I request your getvar all info from your device:
a)Boot your device to the bootloader.
b)Connect your device to your computer and open up your ADB terminal.
c)Type 'fastboot getvar all' without the quotes and press Enter.
d)Please paste the output here, you may wish to remove your IMEI number.
The above information will be useful in understanding if anything's happened to your device.
EDIT - also, do you have an Amazon Prime XT1625 or a retail XT1625, the firmwares are different for either? For an Amazon Prime (with the ads on the lockscreen), you'll want the AMZ stock firmware - for retus, you'll want the other athene firmware without AMZ in their name.

Okay, in that case can we still see the getvar info please, so we can suggest the correct stock ROM for your device? Again, is it an Amazon Prime (i.e. with lockscreen adverts) or a retail device? On your software channel it'll either say AMZ or a carrier for carrier locked devices or retus for retail US.
Be aware that reverting back to stock will not restore your warranty.

If I had ads but then I was able to remove and unblock the bootloader, it is version AMZ XT1625, in relation to the warranty I'm not interested, I only do it for pleasure. Now tell me what do you suggest to follow root? And with what Rom?

You've got the Amazon Prime edition? Were you able to request an unlock code from Motorola?
I'm not sure I follow your question - do you want to remove root or put root onto your device? If you were previously rooted through the auto-init exploit, then updating your device may close that exploit.
Also, what's the post for further information - on my computer, the post is blank?

Thanks - I think the confusion is because in your first post, you mentioned you wanted to revert back to stock (and have NO root, reverting your device back to root), then in your subsequent posts you wanted root again. I don't know if that's a typographical error or a translation error.
If you want root again on stock Nougat, then you could try (if you still have TWRP on your device) flashing ElementalX 2.0 and SuperSU or magisk 15.4. Here's a guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...de-root-moto-g4-plus-supersu-android-t3587918

Jajajajajaj we are lost yes but this being productive thank you for your time that is worth a lot, actually I am already root I have supersu and you were not lost in fact my first question was like going back to my roots but I confess that I am addicted to custom Roms so recommend me one and a kernel that gives me good results, you talked about elementary, [emoji848]

This site is an old one that has been around for a while. It drives my anti-malware (Malwarebytes) software crazy because of all the crap it tries to open when I connect to it. Use it at your own risk, but there are better ways to get stock ROMs for your device.
Just sayin'.

root, recovery, and kernel.

Hi everybody.
I just had the xz F8331. i had the xz premium stone with root and recovery, but my xzP is dead. so I buy the xz. for now I have not done anything with it yet. I will unlock the bl, root, and installed the twrp. if a person has everything they need to perform the procedures it would help me a lot. I do not want to make a mistake. so if someone could help me a little it would be cool. I am with the firmware 192. could you advise me for a high-performance rom on this xperia xz please. I have not yet unlocked the bl so I wonder if there is a fix drm? Thanks in advance for your help. I already read a lot on the forums but I do not understand everything because I am French and not very good in English.

Question Xiaoxin Pad Plus (TB-J607F) no downgrade possible

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Xiaoxin Pad Plus (TB-J607F).
When I bought it in a China store, it had a pseudo Global Rom on it. I then flashed the China Rom and everything worked fine. Also got some OTA update.
Then I got the stupid idea to try another Rom (P11 5G via LMSA) and now I can't get back to the China Rom. I guess something is preventing a downgrade because I did the OTA update.
As I remember it was the ZUI 13.1.???.
But I only have this ROM :TB-J607F_CN_WIFI_USER_Q00010.0_R_ZUI_12.6.142_ST_210801_qpst-001.7z
I would very much like to go back to the China ROM and maybe there is a way.
Thanks for your help.
You must unlock bootloader to flash back to China ROM as Global ROM is much more newer than China ROM. If you want to relock, you need to wait Lenovo release ZUI14 on September.
thanks for your reply.
yes indeed, the bootloader is locked.
I need an unlock file which I can only get from Lenovo. ( please correct me if i am wrong)
I requested this from Lenovo a few days ago but so far no response.

I may have to be patient.

In fact if you are in Global ROM now, you don't need to request for unlock file. Just enable oem unlock in Developer Settings, reboot to bootloader and run
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
Only Chinese Firmware need unlock file.
Thanks for the explanation
I still have a few questions.
1. can I lock the bootloader again after the China Rom flashed and downloaded the OTA update?
2. with which command I lock the bootloader again?
Thanks in advance

The ZUI-ROM has besides chinese also english.
The important thing is that the ROM is newer than what you have at the moment. The latest is ZUI 14, only then you can flash the ROM when the bootloader is locked. Otherwise you have to unlock the bootloader.

Question Unlocked bootloader downsides

Hi,
I've recently purchased a Xiaomi 12 in Germany and wish to flash the official Indonesia ROM in order to enable call recording.
I read that unlocking the bootloader may lead to security limitations such as disabling usage of certain features and/or apps. This is from miuirom.org:
After unlocking the bootloader, you will not receive OTA updates. Face and fingerprint phone unlocking will become unavailable, Xiaomi Find Device service, Google Pay e-payment system and some other features will be disabled

Had anyone tried unlocking and can confirm any such limitations?
Thanks
If you have a Global version, model 2201123G, you can re-lock the bootloader with any version of stock rom, except Cn.
Without locking the bootloader the play store will not be certified, that's all.
Could try a Xiaomi Eu rom(call recorder) where everything works with the bootloader unlocked.
