Gear VR (original) and 3 batteries - Galaxy Note 4 Accessories

I see that buying/ selling isn't supposed to happen on XDA, but Swappa doesn't seem to have an accessories area. Mods, please feel free to delete my post if my post here is in violation.
My AT&T Note 4 died, and I have the Gear VR headset (original), 3x 12.4Wh batteries (1x original and 2x Anker), along with the Anker wall battery charger. I can't use them anymore, and I'd be happy to send them to another user. If you can cover shipping, they're all yours. I'm not sure how to ship the batteries, but if someone is interested, I'll find out what the cost is.
Stock battery seems to hold ~70-80% of its original charge, and the other two seem fine. All are in good condition.

New OEM Replacement Batteries

I recently bought two news batteries for my Samsung Epic thinking I lost my $50 replacement battery (link) that I bought at the Sprint Store (which I now found). I didn't want to use one of those weird, cheapo batteries from eBay. I bought some before for my Samsung Moment & i'll probably never buy them from eBay ever again (eventually the two batteries stopped charging through the phone and only with the charger they came with. My Battery Life app would also claim the two batteries to be "Failures" so, like I said, never doing that again).
So anyways I ended up doing some light research trying to find some cheap, legit, OEM batteries for my phone. I ended up finding this website. eCrater & I thought I would share it with you guys. Now it first may seem iffy when you first go to it, but I actually ordered from there about 3 or 4 weeks ago. They're based out in China and they sell OEM Galaxy S batteries for cheap! I'll take pictures in a bit so everyone can see they're OEM and compare all the stats.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me.
Here are the two links to the batteries that are the cheapest/OEM. they also have other non-OEM batteries on there also. Just search for Galaxy S batteries to see what they all have, but these two links are pretty much the best OEM batteries available on their site.
Galaxy S Battery
Galaxy S Battery 2
Took about two weeks from the day until I finally received my batteries. They last just as long as the stock/replacement battery.
Enjoy!
**Pictures are up! The batteries are numbered, mostly so I can keep track of which is charged & what not. Battery #2 is the replacement that I bought at the Sprint Store. Batteries #3 & #4 are the ones I bought on eCrater. If enough people become interested, I'll test each battery further for ****s & giggles!

[Q] NOOT 2800 mAh Battery

Hello everyone this is my review on the extra battery or replacement battery for you Samsung Galaxy S5. Thus battery is made by NOOT products and is available for 10 bucks on Amazon. Also free 2 day shipping is your a amazon prime member. Ok enough of plugging amazon on ti the real deal how did it work because we have all seen that great deal for 3 batteries and a charger for our phone for 15 bucks. The problem is they barely workif tthey work at all. Nm
Now there are they new fancy named companies witha ssimilar deal but someiof them even suck. Have no fear I already did the testing here NOOT products (Atleast there batterie, have nnot tried anything else yet) are the real deal. I have 3 Galaxy S5's in my house and we all have at least 2 back up batteries and we all use NOOT because they work as good as the OEM ones. I'm not just saying it to plug NOOT I could care less just your friendly XDA product reviewer (Just starting on here but have been for a while). I love my gadgets for my phones so I buy everything I think is cool for my phone or tablet. So I figure I can spend a few minutes and tell my XDA family member about my latest add on to my phone gadgets. I will tell it like it is good or bad. I will be posting several other on stuff I have already been using so is you been thinking about buy a glass screen protector or a wireless charging Back or card wait a day and read my next reviews.
Thanks
Any questions please ask.

For $10 you can't really go wrong with the very quick shipping from Amazon and an emergency backup battery.
I like it so far although it died on me at %30 once

I got them when they were on sale for $5 dollar with a promo code a while back. They work really well, I say about 80 to 90% of the oem time capacity, which was good for the price.
However on a hot afternoon, i left a battery inside my car ... the battery expanded (got fat) and won't fit in the phone anymore.

This. Apparently I have the most helpful favorable review on amazon for it right now, and while I liked the battery when it still worked, I need to edit my review on there as my battery has also gotten fat. It's weird though because I didn't leave it in my car or anything. Battery worked fine for about a month and a half and then all of a sudden it started dying really quick once it reach 30-40%. After several days the battery life started getting shorter and shorter until it didn't even last me 2 hours. Pulled off the back cover and I realized it was getting fatter. I also got it when it was just $5, so I shouldn't really complain, but I contacted the company twice about a replacement (since the product comes with a warranty). They haven't gotten back to me yet and it has been over a month since. Kinda frustrating that their customer service is so lame. Other than that I thought the battery was a good replacement for the price. I've since ordered backups from Caseology on amazon and they seem to work just as well as the Noot one when i first got it.

[Q] Replcaement OEM Battery - Best source ?

So ive been using my note 4 for a while and its been serving me well, however playing clash of clans ive had to charge it twice a day and the original battery doesnt hold that very well as it used to,
And with the newly announced Note 5 being meh, i don't think im gonna switch phones anytime soon. however id like to change the battery on this one.
im wondering if anybody could recommend any genuine source of OEM batteries for cheap, doesnt matter if they are pulled outta new phones or the likes , as long as they are genuine ( and probably cheap) looking to buy a couple.
There are many on ebay but most have mixed reviews so could not conclude, oh and i do not want an extended battery, fast charging has made life quite easy for me so it isnt on the charger all day.
I've been using anker batteries from Amazon and they perform as well as OEM. It comes with battery chargers too, so I always have 2 fully charged extra when needed.

Thanks for your suggestion, looking for the oem batteries only . any reliable source ?
have you registered your note 4? I got a 50% off coupon for accessories under $50 and just bought a replacement straight from samsung
Battery and dock
Oem battery and charging dock from samsung 49.99 at best by
I totally understand not wanting a 3rd party one. Even the good ones aren't extremely accurate. Amazon has one I bought last year (oem and not counterfeit) for $20. Works great. I'd recommend buying it directly from the first source and not 3rd party for cheaper. That's when some folks occasionally run into trouble.

Also, your cell carrier can provide replacements if you have a extended warranty/insurance for no charge. I just got one from T-mobile because mine finally failed. I rough on batteries. I only had to pay for shipping. If all else fails or your uncomfortable with that and have the extra... Grab the charger plus battery deal from Samsung directly. You get a new battery and have an extra (old one) for a backup with no pain of leaving phone on charger. Very handy! Good luck!

This... As well. I got the Samsung protective case with mine. I have 4 other cases and this one is by far the best. Very thin and it even looks like there is no case to most users. Has a decent lip to protect the screen somewhat and bumpers on the corners. Highly recommended

How to spot a fake Samsung battery?

I just purchased a battery on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NT2X4XG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It arrived today and I was a little surprised by the "Retail Packaging." Not sure what I was expecting, but seeing other Samsung product packaging, something similar.
Pulled the battery from my phone to check for difference, and everything looks exactly the same except for the serial portion. The text is a bit different than my original battery, with fatter letters. The QR code also looks different. Everything else looks exactly the same...
Anyone have any idea? Would hate to think I ponied up $25 to Amazon for a bootleg.

It's hard to tell to be honest... Due to the fact that you can just put a sticker on any battery that has a similar color, shape, and texture. You can compare the markers marks, serial numbers, and other text but not all Samsung batteries are made or sold from one factory. I've bought some from Amazon myself (3 in fact) and haven't ever had a problem. Heck, samsung doesn't even offer new ones anymore on their website. I just mark mine with a sharpy for their age etc. and use a battery only charger connected to a fast charger and am very happy with my set up. It seems that SOME of the batteries are refurbs but they are generally sold as such. Higher price and good reviews help as well. I would just go by performance since there is nothing else you can do since our devices are older at this point. Sorry I couldn't help with more...
Oh here's the link to my latest one that works fine for me. In fact... I think yours is from the same place. I'm pretty damn sure it's genuine.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OQLMJR6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And here's the link to my battery only charger (again this is connected to a QC 2.0 charger for best results!)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UFCRO0W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks for the response. Ya, i get it's older now, and bootlegs are all over the place. It's just a pain in the ass not to get ripped off nowadays buying phone accessories. On the plus side I guess we have options!
Only way is to buy directly from Samsung or buy a non-OEM battery that's likely not going to be copied such as from Anker

In general, this.
If you can't buy directly from the manufacturer anymore, buy a trusted third party battery. No one is going to bother faking a third party battery.
However, in my experience, any item sold and shipped directly by Amazon is trustworthy. The link you provided says it's shipped from and sold by Amazon.com, so you should be safe.
Just compared two original Samsung batteries for the S5, one that came with an SM-G900F (international S5), and one that comes with the S5's spare battery charging system (sold at Best Buy in the US). There were plenty of small differences in the battery labeling.
Why bother with Samsung official crap batteries? My note 4 original battery lasted 3 months from brand new to dead. I purchased a new Anker from Amazon and its over 8 months without issue and still holds an incredible charge. 20$ beats Samsung official any day in my book, I bought myself two just to have one handy but I have yet to date needed it.

Yes and yes.
NFC is done through the the stock cover and fast charging is done through the charger with the operating system. I only use anker now and both fast charging with NFC most definitely works.
I am running AOSP as well so it even works through AOSP.

I've just bought a "genuine Samsung Extra Battery Kit" and was told that all their stock is genuine. It's really the external charging cradle/coffin that I'm after as opposed to the battery (I always buy Anker as replacements) and I found you can't buy them from Sammy in the UK anymore so I've had to go trawling the net. Does anyone have any pointers as how I can check?
Once the battery is charged I'll check that the NFC and fast charging work, but I've no idea about the cradle and how to check....

Looking at my external charging cradle/coffin, I would say that the printing on the sticky label would not be so sharp on a cheap fake.

Which sticky label are we talking here? Looking at the cradle I can't see anything that's stuck on - or is it the labelling on the base that'll currently be covered by the charging battery? Roughly how long does it take to charge your battery using the standard Sammy 2A charger?

Yes, the label is under the battery. Not sure about the time to charge, I must admit I've never timed it - I just put it in, and leave it.

Yes - mine is genuine. Sourced from EE in the UK.
Just bought a replacement battery direct from the Samsung UK site - £25 but worth it for the peace of mind, and knowledge that it's definitely genuine. Free delivery.
EDIT: Ordered at 5:00pm, it's now the next morning and my battery has arrived - great speed for free delivery! (Now, if only Samsung could get their firmware updates out as fast!)
EDIT: Genuine Samsung packaging (with the window on the front of the box, and a plastic container for the battery) and manufacture date of last month, so fresh off the assembly line

I'm telling you guys, go with anker, they are far more reliable and cheaper. They outlast Samsung garbage batteries but to each his or her own.
And baffled why there is so much worry over original OEM batteries. Samsung batteries are totally junk.

Personally, I'm trying to work out if the unit I bought is likely to be a fake. Yes, you've already voiced your opinion on this topic, hence why I'm confused as to why you need to give the same again? You don't rate Samsung batteries based on your personal experiences. That's fair enough. But you've already rubbished them and said that you use Anker ones and I'm sure that's been duely noted by all of us reading this. But posting the same thing again in response to a conversation between two people who've already purchased Samsung units doesn't really help anyone, in this context.
From my experience, I had both Samsung and Anker batteries fail on me when I was travelling round India. The Sammy one's included the old battery that was on it's last legs and a cheapie (that was included in an order for other S3 stuff from ebay) but I had 2 out of 4 Anker ones die on me - all bought at the same time and all newer than the genuine Samsung one. Anker eventually, after a lot of emailing, gave me a refund for the faulty units. I then bought some more for the Note 3 that replaced the S3, and so far, one Anker for my new Note 4. So I'm not anti Anker - I really like their products (I've a great little bluetooth speaker from them). This is just for a bit of balance.
I also received external Anker chargers that were REALLY low quality junk for the S3 and then the Note 3. They came with 2 batteries direct from Anker on Amazon.com (the UK site didn't have any when I needed them).
---------- Post added at 06:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:07 PM ----------
I've charged the new battery and tried using NFC and it works fine - have they started making copies that use NFC (that used to be the way to spot a fake with the S3) or does that mean that I've got a genuine one?

Here's my opinion on this battery talk thread.
I have bought plenty of batteries from amazon for my devices. Some Oem and some not, and I haven't had one problem from none of my aftermarket ones either. Probably because I know how to charge/discharge a new battery. Any type of (new) battery will take a few days to calibrate for whatever device you use.
My motto buy it, test it out (myself) and see if it lives up to your standards. If its faulty for any reason, then return it for a replacement.
I'll end it with this statement, I have't had to return any of the batteries I ordered. And this goes back to my S2 up to my Note 4.
If your a true battery hog like myself then invest in a extended battery and call it a day.
Regards,
Bajanman
FYI There is still one way to get a genuine Samsung battery (NFC) still.
