Hello guys,
I was wondering if it would be possible to add and Audio Synchronization per Bluetooth device.
Currently it has the option to save the audio delay per video file or it also have the option to set an audio delay for the device's speaker and a different delay for bluetooth devices, which is extraordinary!
However, it would be really really awesome if it could save an audio delay for specific bluetooth devices.
VLC player has this option, when watching a video you click on more option -> audio delay -> set the audio delay -> and after that it pops out a window that says "save bluetooth device".
It is very useful because for example my car speakers have a extreme delay of 2.25 seconds, but my bragi earbuds have no delay at all, so currently with MX player I need to choose if I want the default settings to be synchronized with my car or with my earbuds or with other earbuds that have a delay but much smaller (around 0.5 sec).
Do you think this feature could be added in a future update? MX player is way better than VLC player in many other aspects, unfortunately, I am currently having to use both because of this it would be extremely incredible if I could uninstall VLC and doing everything with MX Player Pro.
Thank you in advance!
I completely agree!! My delay isn't as bad as yours in my car, but it is still .5 sec. It is VERY annoying, to say the least!! I have the same issue, as I use my regular Bluetooth earpieces EVERYWHERE when I am not in my car, and none of them have audio delays at all, but when I get in my car I have to either manually change every video I play, or go into settings, audio, and modify the Bluetooth delay while I am in the car (which I do since my trip to work is 35 min).
If we could just get a delay setting for EACH Bluetooth device, that would be make MX Player PERFECT for me!!

It's already in our planning. It will be supported on the later versions of the MX Player 1.9.x. As there are some other major features are also in the plan, we can't assure any timeline at the moment.
Here's a trick I'm going to share that should fix the delay for you:
1. Open the audio menu under settings.
2. Select Audio output and change it to AAudio or Java AudioTrack(Prefer AAudio if your device supports it)
3. Set both audio delay and bluetooth audio delay to 0 if they aren't.
4. Enjoy!

Anyone know of a compatible headset where the 'next/previous' buttons can control the music player on the i9000?
My nokia TV-out cable works for TV output, so tried my Nokia headset (WH-701) that has music playback controls on it in the hope that works too, but only the call answer button works. I got the stock android lockscreen, so no longer have the touchwiz pull-down music controls on the lockscreen, so it would be handy to be able to change tracks from the earphone wire.
Tried searching for appropriate keywords in the forum but didn't see anything about this.
Thanks
it can easily be done on the bluetooth headset
no idea about the wired ones
I see would prefer weird ones, but might have to look into the bluetooth types. Is there any bluetooth headset you use or can recommend?

I've been wondering about this too. The lack of control through the headset is the only thing that is keeping me from selling my iPod.
NOKIA BH-503 work like a charm, it is a wonderful headset with excellent bass, gives you like a surround effect, somtimes i flet like it was 5.1

there are a lot that i can recommend actually, it just depends on your preference and quality.
if you don't care much about Brand names, then there are a lot of good ones for cheap on DX extreme site.
if you want specific brand names they go for a lot for the good ones.
other things to consider are portability, longevity of the battery, sound quality, capable of answering the phone or not, etc

Do you mean the music controls work e.g. let you control tracks?

Cool, will look into Deal Xtreme.
Cheers
with MixZing player u can use the included galaxy i9000 headset to change music tracks and play/pause.
- one click: play
- another click: pause
- two fast clicks: next song
The built-in Music Player app doesn't respond to the standard Bluetooth AVRCP headset control buttons. Most other music player apps will (I use Cubed).
If you want to use your own (wired) headphones through Bluetooth you may want to check this (or similar items) out: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8422
Could be useful if you already got a fairly expensive set of 'phones and don't feel like spending even more on a Bluetooth headset. Just a $13 bluetooth receiver that you plug your headphones into.
Might order one myself as the lack of buttons is a big reason for me refraining from replacing my MP3 player with my SGS (the others being the sound quality and battery life - I'm curious what the receiver would do to those two as well).
I used MUSIC MOD free from market. Its like Music Player on steroids. Double fast tap on mic button for next track . 1 tap for stop. Most 3rd party music players also support headset buttons. Just not stock player
For the OP:
I have a DXJG4 and run the stock music player with it. All my bluetooth stereo headsets have full avrcp support (play, pause, ff and rew). I use the Nokia BH-503, Philipps SB9000 and recently the Backbeat 906. All buttons work. And during testing a couple more BT headsets, all the buttons work.
However, recently I found out the BT in my phone "forgets" some headsets. And when they attempt to connect, they are either not in the list or connect using the Phone profile only (Media profile is not ticked).

I think I share your reservations about how it would affect the SGS's already not-too impressive audio quality.

Thanks for the advice! I think I might as well upgrade to bluetooth ones seeing as they are generally less hassle with no tangled wires etc! (downside is you need to keep them charged). Had a look at the BH503 but I'd prefer in-ear bud type earphones - hopefully there are bluetooth types somewhere!
I use the Jabra BT3030. Looks like a dogtag, but you can use your own headphones which is awesome, and all the controls work and it has a built in mic for handsfree calling. I have used a few bluetooth stereo headsets and this one is by far my favourite.
I just purchase the DR-BT 101 by sony,
and it works fine on the sgs default music player, as well as video player.
Been using it for 4 days so far, trouble free.
If u leave the bluetooth on your phone on, and close the music player, and press the ''on'' button on the dr-bt101, it will automatically turn on the music player by default, so long as it was the last bluetooth item you paired it with (eg if you were using a pc before this, it will pair with the pc if the pc program you used to pair it on is turned on)
Just a warning if you plan to use it on your pc as well, it has some problems with windows 7 64 bit. I used blue soleil drivers and that settled it.
also works with skype on both SGS and pc
I wouldn't mind posting a small review on the headphones if anyones interested
these samsung headsets work with the stock music player in froyo..
didnt work in eclair
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320553841349&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
one hit to button pauses , another resumes, and two hits skip forward a song
The standard headset (provided by the Samsung with SGS) is capable of changing music tracks through headset remote controls but for this you need a Power Amp Music Player which is available on Android Market.
Here is function which you can use with your regular Samsung provided standard headset
1 press: pause
2 press: next song
3 press: previous song
Why is everyone saying you need a special app to do these controls. The double click method works with the basic music player.

I believe the eariler posts were when the Galaxy S was in the 2.1 Eclair days. Now with the advent of 2.2 Froyo and 2.2.1 it seems Samsung have added this functionality only recently in the new firmwares.
So, I'm not sure if this bug can be addressed in MX Player, but here's the issue...
I listen to audio books, a lot of them. If the audio is CD quality without any background hiss, then there are brief pauses of silence between sentences.
When there is a pause of silence for maybe 500 ms or less, my bluetooth radio or bluetooth speaker goes into a power saving mode until sound is heard again. When the silence ends and speaking resumes, the first syllable of the first word is usually chopped off.
How to address this?
1) If MX Player can instruct Android to 'Stay Awake' the bluetooth radio, that would be best.
2) If MX Player can send a barely audible signal or background hiss, that would keep my bluetooth radio/speaker from dozing off due to lack of signal being transmitted.
Again, this happens between almost every sentence if there is no background music or tape hiss. It also happens when listening to some talk radio programs I've listed to. To be clear, it's not [just] between tracks. I also turned off the options to fade in and out.
I am unable to enjoy audio books from any wireless headset or speaker.
I am using a Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-I747 AT&T (d2att), running either stock 4.0.4 or 4.4.2 or CM12.1 nightlies.

Audio silence is actually not silence on device's view of point. While playing an audio stream and there is no sound, player actually sends series of silent packets. It means bluetooth speaker is still receiving packets even though it does not produce any sound.
Anyway, would you send more information to reproduce this issue on my side?
1. Sample video clip that can produce this issue.
2. Model name of your bluetooth speaker.
This is a life saver for parents
o to Settings - sound and vibration - Seperate App sound (all the way at the bottom)
turn on and pick the app you want(limited to 1 app at a time)
Then choose the location (I chose Music to bluetooth)
This way I can still listen to music and be able to hand my daughter my phone so she can watch youtube
Impressive, didn't think of that as a use case. Although I don't think I'll be handing anyone my phone just yet
For example (?) : can you watch a video/broadcast mute (sport game), and listen TuneIn ( running commentary ) at the same time ?
Actually android is deeply missing basic audio mix table !
Also can you (lucky owners) tell us if :
-AKG earphone are ip68 waterproof ?
-Google Music can be uninstall/disable ?
-is embedded EQ working with any browser/video app ?
Thx for sharing...

The only one I can answer is that yes Google play music can be uninstalled

I have a specific question/problem related to this:
Currently I have Google Play Music assigned to Bluetooth.
This is cool because in the car, I can play music - but then play a game or something at the same time.
HOWEVER.....
In order for this to actually work, you have to go to the audio connections hub thing in the notification shade.
And switch your audio output to the phone.
THEN with the audio output set to the phone - itll use the override and send the play music to bluetooth.
You seemingly have to do this every time (I even used Tasker and Autotools custom settings, trying to detect which setting gets changed and make it automatic.... but couldn't see a related changed setting in the settings lists).
A bigger problem though, amidst my messing around to try to make this work better....
I selected "turn off connections manager" option.
Now I don't get that stuff in the notification shade at all.
And I cannot find a single setting that lets me access it again!
So now I can never use separate app audio.
Can someone help me!?!?!?
I have found this feature usefull for SatNav.
I have the phone connected to car bluetooth, so ALL audio on previous phones goes to the car - so as im listening to streaming radio etc, the satnav voice from TomTom kicks in and can be quite annoying - especially as I only want the voice for traffic and speed cameras.
With this feature, I can still stream music to the car but have the audio come through the phone speaker - well done Samsung

Give SoundAbout a look. There isn't much it can't manage.
One of my issues with the Google ChromeCast is that when the phone is used as a source, all audio is sent over that ChromeCast connection.
You cannot divert the audio to Bluetooth for bluetooth speakers/headphones.
Does anyone know if this new Samsung feature will allow you to divert ChromeCast audio to Bluetooth?
That would be pretty darn cool if it did.
EDIT: Btw, I don't have the Samsung phone.
I was linked here from a Google Pixel thread. But I'm really interested to know the answer to my question above.

Download Sound Assistant from Samsung in the play store. When you adjust volume hit the icon and then expand the window. To the right of the app volume slider you can switch sound output.
Found the "Audio output" control! Yess!!

Thanks to the post above I was finally able to find the setting to enable the option to select the Audio output on my phone (Samsung S8+) see pictures attached. So if you've lost the option to select the audio output of you S8 follow these steps. (Not to be confused with with Separate app sound, which routes different apps to a bluetooth or phone output)
Find the Samsung Connect app
Click on the three dots to bring down the menu
Tap Settings
Tap Samsung Connect panel
Ensure this is turned on
Tap on Always show
and Finally tap on Audio output << This is the one! :good:
With the included akg n700ncm2 bt headphone any app that plays sound or music over bluetooth will stop any sound while the app continues to act like its not paused.
The sound/music will start playing 20-30 seconds later but it will play at 2x-5x normal speed untill it has caught up yo the apps position.
For context spotify music will cut at 0:05 in a song.
The app will keep playing with no audio untill 0:35 then the audio will suddenly come on starting at 0:05 and playing at 3x untill it has caught up to 0:35 as per the spotify app.
It appears to have something todo with samsungs scalable codec because if i set it to sbc in developer options the issue instantly goes away, but the quality is not as good.
I havnt heard of any one else with this issue and unsure if its the headset at fault or phone but any help would be appreciated!
I was in the same boat, just did a firmware update and it's working properly now. Hope it continues to work.
You can update from within the akg app
Yeah I found the issue was the Samsung Scalable Codec too. Changing it to AAC in developer settings gives the best result.
I just installed the updated firmware and I am still getting some very small drop-outs, definitely not as bad as what we were dealing with before, but still not great. Switching to AAC codec still gives flawless audio.
There seems to have been a change somewhere - can anyone else get these headphones to work in AAC mode anymore? Mine is always on SBC now no matter what I select in developer settings
---------- Post added at 10:07 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:07 AM ----------
To answer my own question, it is the AKG Headphone app which is causing my problem. Turns out the app is forcing SBC to be used at all times. I just disallowed background usage for the app and now I can switch codecs as I like.
I've discovered an app called 'Checker for A2DP' which shows the available codecs for the headphones and lets you select what you want to use. When the AKG app is allowed to run in background then only SBC shows up as available for the headphones.
Options are SBC, AAC and MAX. (MAX is their terminology for Samsung Scaled Codec)
Hey guys,
It is known since a lot of time that bluetooth devices add a delay/latency which a variety in quantity, if the device is better than one it might offer a small delay. And it depends on the distance, walls etc. And possibly depends on device Bluetooth version.
Well, but there is a delay and since a lot of years there is no fix for delay regarding audio cutting. But, I have a software solution for this and I hope someone of Android developement reads my post and make it included officialized or just by a Magisk/Exposed module.
The problem is:
- The beginning of audio from Whatsapp/Music App is cut. You dont hear the beginning or first words from a audio.
The solution is:
- Via software, add a short blank audio of silence to every audio which is played and put in the beginning of this before output to a bluetooth speaker.
For example:
Lets considet that a specific Bluetooth device have 500 millisecond of delay in a Android device.
We are gonna play a long Whatsapp Voice Audio about 3.000 millisecond.
We just add 500 millisecond of silence before the 3.000 millisecond audio.
So the device will send to bluetooth 500 millisecond of silence and 3.000 millisecond of audio from whatsapp, making it plays without any cut the Whatsapp Voice Audio.
And if we can play this silence audio always before of an audio we will have no cut.
I hope someone can make it true soon
