Fast charge while screen is on - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

im running Xtrestolite Deo Mod 3.3 6.0.1 on my galaxy s6 with arter97 kernal version 21.0 the fast charge work amazing
it charge quick no matter screen is on or off or i use map , youtube or whatsapp . when i switched to nougat custom rom and official stock rom the fast charge doesn't work any more when screen is on and using any app at the same time but its not the problem in Marshamallow roms . when screen is off fast charge works fine . im asking if any one else have this issue or know any thing or fix ? is it related kernal or is it noguat probelm ? thanks in advance

Can't say I've seen that issue on MM systems; perhaps it's a temperature preservation scheme? I've noticed my phone can get rather hot when fast charging; that in addition to heat generated under use could easily overheat the phone, and if not to a temperature harmful to the electronics, certainly able to damage the battery and reduce its longevity.

[Q] overheat problem

I have GT p6200 running Carbon ROM KitKat 4.4.4
And since I updated room ICS I've been having this overheating problem
When I was on ICS the tablet didnt get hot while using WiFi
But when I moved to KitKat I started facing this problem
But if it's not the WiFi could it be the CPU governor ??
Now mine is set on user space
If so what's the default CPU settings for this ROM
Thnx

This is your 3rd post you have posted as they all happen at the same time on the same rom i would have said all of them on the same tread as
Post 1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-plus/general/battery-drain-kitkat-t2835925
Since I updated to KitKat 4.4.4 carbon ROM
I've been facing battery drain while using WiFi mostly not during sleep
I tried doing everything I could to stop it
Disabling Google play services from time to time... Using greenify
Freeing up ram ...battery saving mode
Disabling wake up for apps from app ops
Now I use it for 2 hours and it uses 40 percent of the battery with the lowest brightness though
Please give me suggestions or fixes
Thnx
Post 2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-plus/general/wifi-toggle-stuck-t2835929
I'm using carbon ROM KitKat 4.4.4 and the ROM is really smooth and great except for this problem that showed up lately
Sometimes when I turn on WiFi it get stuck and totally freeze until I reboot the device
Is there a way to fix this
And I use xposed modules by the way
Could they have an affect ?
I only use greenify, clear recent apps, clipboard and XAD modules
Thnx

Post 3 Default CPU governor settings for this ROM is on demand
Looking at Post 1 & 3 Both of these have to do with the battery Heat
overclocking generates more heat but under-clocking generates less heat (i have not extensively used this feature but asking in the dev forum or if Google'd the governor settings of the ROM might help to see what it does)
high battery temp you less battery capacity e.g 4 amp becomes 3.2 amp BUT low battery temp more battery capacity e.g 4 amp becomes 4.8 amp
also motherboards like to be cool 50 degrees F to 95 degrees F or 10 degrees C to 35 degrees C this is the ideal working temp
anything more or less than that would cause a waste of either performance and/or battery capacity
my tab has worked from 11 degrees through all the way to 60 degrees C battery temp please note i live in South Africa i go to cold places and it gets really hot some times so use these values as only a rough indication
my tabs idle temp is 15 to 25 light work 25 to 35 gaming 35 to 40 degrees C this is a thumb suck of my normal temp can be more or less (just pulled my tab out of my pocket 23 degrees C and while typing this sentence increased to 24 degrees C currently it is 8 degrees C 81% humidity inside a building )
can i ask that you post your battery temp? as temp is relative (i am using antutu benchmark x widget that displays temp and batterylogger)
also the heat could/maybe be causing your WiFi to get suck not on or off
please see it changing the govenor fixes this

Hello, I think AICP is the best ( [6045x][unofficial][5.1.1][08.01.2016.] aicp 10.0 ),because its simple, just try it !
Regards
Hi I'll try it I love simple rom KIS. I changed my governor to interactive, it was on performance. I'll se if there is an improvement. Phone runs colder but I don't see any improvement in battery life for now.

S4 I9500 Overheating And Heavy Battery Drain

Hello Dear XDA Users, I have been using this phone since it first came out in 2013, I only noticed this problem 2 years ago where the battery drains incredibly fast I have to charge it only 30 min after using it I also noticed that, and just after a 10min use, the area around the camera at the back becomes so hot you can't hold it (exceeds 80 degrees) I've resorted to changing the battery but it just added a new problem which is that the battery percentage when it hits 40% suddenly drops to 0%.

CPU overheating?

About 2 weeks ago, my D2303 starts feeling warm (~40-45℃) after a short period of light usage (e.g. watch YouTube videos using official app, browse web), even in air conditioned indoors (so that excludes the possibility of heat from surroundings)
I tried rebooting the phone into safe mode and it does not overheating that much (still feels a little bit warm, but I think that may be normal) when using it for light work mentioned above.
Phone is running stock Android 5.1.1 with no root and kernel tweaks,CPU usage seems fluctuating a lot but none apps seems to have using that much CPU (all cores @ 100%)
What are the possible reasons behind this? Should I just buy a newer phone?

all the sony m2 have the same over heating problem.but you can have another ROM that have no over heating problem. and with a good performance better than the stock 5.1
you can get the RR v6.1 its a oreo android system from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/orig-development/rom-resurrection-remix-v6-1-0-t3810937
read the instruction how to flash this ROM.you must unlock your phone bootloader.
after you flash this ROM you must replace these files from this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77844093&postcount=120
if you replace these files you will have a good performance and ( no over heating ) no laging too

all the sony m2 does NOT have the same over heating problem. i used this phone for full 4 years and only time i experienced overheating was in summer days. i suggest OP to format the phone and if it doesn't help, you can try one of the 7.x roms

[SOLVED] Extremely Slow Charging on AOSP roms

Hi there I know this might be a rom specific issue but I've faced the same problem on different roms (so far I've tried Pixel Experience Plus and Evolution X)
My phone supports 67W fast charging and I have 67W charger (Official one from Xiaomi) and it used to work great on Miui roms but then I switched to AOSP roms and the charging speed is very very slow...
The highest being not more than 3000 mA
and the lowest which is mostly the case being under 1000
I am rooted with magisk so if there is anything I could do to boost the charging speed even by a little bit would be great as right now it takes more than 2 hours to charge my device... (5000 Mah battery)
compared to the 45 min full charge on Miui
Even if there is no way to get as fast speed as Miui if I could get a little bit boost somehow it would be great
p.s I've already lost hope been trying different stuff for about a week and nothing works so it's okay if there is no solution

Hi, thanks for replying
My device model number is: 2201116PI
Device Name: Poco X4 Pro 5G (Veux)
I have tried Miui Eu on this device and it has worked great however when switching to custom roms based on AOSP like Evolution X, Descendant OS (this is my primary rom I've been using it for a while now) and Pixel Experience Plus
some additional info below
Charger: Mi Sonic 3.0 67w Fast Charger
Battery temperature: usually never goes above 40°c so shouldn't be a temperature thing
got this device just a month ago so I expect the battery itself to not be a problem...

I didn't ask for the name of the ROM/ROMs, I was asking which specific ROM/ROMs you are using, as in, name of the ROM/ROMs and the android version. There could be many different AOSP Evolution X ROMs for your device and they could all be different, therefore, saying "Evolution X" tells me the name of the ROM but doesn't tell me which Evolution X ROM your are referring to.
The kernel built in the ROM might not support fast charge or the ROMs could be poorly optimized or Google Play Services could be causing excess battery drain(this is a known issue for some ROMs).
Have you tried posting in the threads where you got your ROMs to see if there is something that the developer/developers need to fix in the ROM/ROMs?

Sorry for that, i am using Descendant OS based on Android 12.1
Kernel: 5.4.134-perf
this is actually the kernel used in Miui roms for the device and it is being used in custom roms too since Xiaomi did not release kernel sources for the device as of yet, it's even more surprising due to this since this kernel should support fast charging
I did ask in the thread for the rom and nobody else supposedly faced the same issue
Infact about a day ago it was fine charging at 3000 mA but just today it became like this
Thankfully by using a magisk module i found in a totally different thread increases the charging speed back to 3000 mA which is around 30w charging I assume, it's not the best but it's better than what was going on
The module:
(posting this just in case, you don't need to download/use it or anything)

Boot into TWRP and select Wipe, then select advanced wipes then select the cache partition and the dalvik cache partition but do not select any other partitions, then swipe the slider to wipe, then reboot and see if the issue persists.

That seems to have increased the charging speed by a bit but i face a different problem now
The battery icon in the status bar does not display accurate battery percentage it's either always stuck at 100 or absolutely 0
Though when I go to settings to check battery it shows the accurate percentage
weird.
Edit: hey looks like i became a senior member, kind of ashamed to ask for help in minor things like this sorry...

Try disabling the fast charge module in Magisk then boot back into TWRP and wipe the caches again like I described above and reboot.

If it happens again, it is more than likely to be a cache issue again, its a common thing in android. That is why periodically closing all apps and rebooting is suggested, occasionally wiping cache is also helpful.
