Hi there I know this might be a rom specific issue but I've faced the same problem on different roms (so far I've tried Pixel Experience Plus and Evolution X)
My phone supports 67W fast charging and I have 67W charger (Official one from Xiaomi) and it used to work great on Miui roms but then I switched to AOSP roms and the charging speed is very very slow...
The highest being not more than 3000 mA
and the lowest which is mostly the case being under 1000
I am rooted with magisk so if there is anything I could do to boost the charging speed even by a little bit would be great as right now it takes more than 2 hours to charge my device... (5000 Mah battery)
compared to the 45 min full charge on Miui
Even if there is no way to get as fast speed as Miui if I could get a little bit boost somehow it would be great
p.s I've already lost hope been trying different stuff for about a week and nothing works so it's okay if there is no solution

Hi, thanks for replying
My device model number is: 2201116PI
Device Name: Poco X4 Pro 5G (Veux)
I have tried Miui Eu on this device and it has worked great however when switching to custom roms based on AOSP like Evolution X, Descendant OS (this is my primary rom I've been using it for a while now) and Pixel Experience Plus
some additional info below
Charger: Mi Sonic 3.0 67w Fast Charger
Battery temperature: usually never goes above 40°c so shouldn't be a temperature thing
got this device just a month ago so I expect the battery itself to not be a problem...

I didn't ask for the name of the ROM/ROMs, I was asking which specific ROM/ROMs you are using, as in, name of the ROM/ROMs and the android version. There could be many different AOSP Evolution X ROMs for your device and they could all be different, therefore, saying "Evolution X" tells me the name of the ROM but doesn't tell me which Evolution X ROM your are referring to.
The kernel built in the ROM might not support fast charge or the ROMs could be poorly optimized or Google Play Services could be causing excess battery drain(this is a known issue for some ROMs).
Have you tried posting in the threads where you got your ROMs to see if there is something that the developer/developers need to fix in the ROM/ROMs?

Sorry for that, i am using Descendant OS based on Android 12.1
Kernel: 5.4.134-perf
this is actually the kernel used in Miui roms for the device and it is being used in custom roms too since Xiaomi did not release kernel sources for the device as of yet, it's even more surprising due to this since this kernel should support fast charging
I did ask in the thread for the rom and nobody else supposedly faced the same issue
Infact about a day ago it was fine charging at 3000 mA but just today it became like this
Thankfully by using a magisk module i found in a totally different thread increases the charging speed back to 3000 mA which is around 30w charging I assume, it's not the best but it's better than what was going on
The module:
(posting this just in case, you don't need to download/use it or anything)

That seems to have increased the charging speed by a bit but i face a different problem now
The battery icon in the status bar does not display accurate battery percentage it's either always stuck at 100 or absolutely 0
Though when I go to settings to check battery it shows the accurate percentage
weird.
Edit: hey looks like i became a senior member, kind of ashamed to ask for help in minor things like this sorry...

If it happens again, it is more than likely to be a cache issue again, its a common thing in android. That is why periodically closing all apps and rebooting is suggested, occasionally wiping cache is also helpful.

OK, I ran into this issue about 5 days ago. No matter what ROM I install, my phone constantly heats up within 15-20 mins of casual usage. I don't even play games on my phone. I tried N ROMs and MM ROMs too, no matter what ROM I install, phone just heats up. I'm attaching a screenshot from CPU-Z app (which I used to monitor the temperature). Are those readings OK, or is there something wrong with my phone?
My phone's temperatures are usually similar to yours and I thought this was normal. In case it's not I'd like to see a solution to this as well.
Btw, do you have any custom kernels? Agni made my phone way too hot..

I don't really go for custom kernels unless I'm testing one. I stick to the kernel that comes with the ROM.

I have checked. They are mostly around 800 MHz mark. And 45% of the time in deep sleep or 400 MHz.
Also I want to whether surrounding temperature can affect the values? Right now the temperature at my home city is averaging around 34-35°C. Would that be the cause?

Not to hijack the thread but I have experienced all the cores being on max. frequency. I noticed this when my phone started warming up even being idle.
I saw this behavior for a few times in RR with both Optimus and Firekernel (Optimus had optimus set as its governor and Firekernel had darkness), however never encountered it in Ultradevs (with both chill and darkness).
This was a couple of months ago, and it hasn't happened again yet. However I am not sure if this was related to kernel because sometimes force stopping random applications such as greenify or nova launcher made the frequency scale down back to 400 (efficiency profile). Unfortunately I didn't get a hold on what was causing this, but I suspect some background user application was the culprit.

I also faced this issue first time when I flashed RR 5.8.2, no custom kernel used. And now its following on every ROM I install. I even tried custom kernels, different gapps packages but none seem to work. The phone heats up while charging and while doing simple things like using WhatsApp, sending emails, browsing through XDA. Also kernel adiutor is showing that GPU temperature is always above 43°C.

Did you restore apps through some backup program such as Titanium backup? In my case, I used to use it and it might be the reason the problem was popping up everywhere.
If not, and if the phone still heats up even in clean state (after a fresh custom/stock rom install), then maybe some hardware issue could be the reason.
My Cpu-z reports battery being at 37° discharging and the sensor0 to sensor5 show 45-51°c although the phone feels way cooler than that.

yeah, thinking you may have to flash stock, not restore it via twrp. I know it's a pain but it would give you a good reference point.
Well I can't flash stock ROM for the next 2 days. So let me ask this : Is a temperature of 37-42°C for battery and CPU harmful for the phone? Or I shouldn't worry about it?
107F? I shouldn't think so...
"Right now the temperature at my home city is averaging around 34-35°C. Would that be the cause? " It wouldn't help...
I am 26 ambient and my phone temps run 36-36 or so.
Ambient temp does play a factor. If the phone is Almost as hot as the ambient it's hard to transfer the phone heat to the ambient surrounding.
My freqs and temps in attachment. I use aosp-caf with prepackaged kernel(ud i think) with some custom settings.
Ambient temp is around 20 C inside and 10 C outside

Thanks a lot. Even when my phone was not heating up, the CPU and battery never got cooler 31°C. And GPU was around 38°C. And even after intensive use, CPU never got hotter than 37°C.
Now my phone's CPU and battery are around 35°C mark and GPU around 43°C. And during use CPU reaches 43°C mark and GPU about 52°C. Can these temperatures cause any harm to the device?

I had the same issue . with few ROMS . My device temperature went around 70C on oen ROM. I am usimng Osprey 1GB RAM
I have not faced any issues since I am using Nano Gapps. Previousely I used Mini gapps and that was causing the issue . Depend whar Mobile you use 1GB RAM or 2GB RAM. Also it is better to clear cache after every install
Also I use following settings to make suer it doe snot get hot.
-Ambient Display Off
-Adaptive Display Off
-Try not to block any apps from sending notoification as I had issues where battery draining and mobiel heating up by doing so
-Keep brightness to minimum
and since I am using this I had not any issues with heating

Thanks for replying but its not the issue of any ROM. I flashed stock and the issue still persisted. So I literally contacted everyone I know of who owns an unrooted osprey in my city and asked them about this.
Turns out everyone's phone is getting hotter a lot faster than before. Even went into a Moto Service Centre, they said its fine for the phone to heat up in such temperatures.
The issue is ambient heat. As you might have seen in my previous post, I mentioned that the temperature in my city is averaging around 35-36°C (Today it reached 40°C), the phone just doesn't cool down enough after using it. So when I started to use it again, it heated up.
Thanks everyone for replying.

My favourite setup is Pixel Experience CAF + it's stock kernel, with Servicely from Franco running to prevent wakelocks from social apps. The phone lasts two days with normal usage. Lasts a whole day with 7/8h SOT. The stock kernel is perfect, better battery than Smurf, faster than Blu.Spark, really half-way between those two kernels.
I like OOS 9.0.4 with Smurf too, or OmniRom.
But i love the Pixel 3 feel of PE. Smooth as hell, even more than OOS. On top of that it has Pixel 3 AOD, integrated with the official live wallpapers, Now Playing, Digital Wellbeing, Google Pay, Pie Gestures (which are very fluid and cool to use, unlike on OOS where they are kinda broken and unresponsive, and you can still disable them), everything works like a charm. It also has a system-wide dark mode.
RAM management is also much better than OOS, and you can remap the Alert Slider positions (I set Do Not Disturb on the top position, much better than Silence), and set vibration strengh for calls, notifications, and system.
It's not a ROM that offers tons of customizations though, apart from what i wrote above. But it's polished, super fast, and has very good battery backup.

Dash Charging works like it should, and for the camera, i'm using this port of GCam (beta 20 build) : https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-xtrme/
Everything works including SlowMo, Portrait, Photosphere ... And quality is on par with OOS in lit conditions, but way better in low light. The app is especially snappy and responsive. That's not related to the ROM though, it's mostly thanks to this amazing GCam port. Best i found so far.

No problem ! Remember, this is a CAF build. So you have to Format your whole storage (not just Factory Reset) for it to boot for the first time.
It's a Security Patch issue commom to current CAF ROMs, you have to remove encryption to boot the first time. And the only way is to Format the internal storage.

Stands for "Code Aurora Forums". Basically, it's an AOSP branch maintained by Qualcomm. ROMs built on it (Like LineageOS for example) instead of pure AOSP are optimized with specific code from Qualcomm, so normally run faster and more efficiently on Snapdragon processors.
It's not a new thing, but the more you know !
Comparing the AOSP builds and the new CAF build of Pixel Experience, it is indeed faster and more responsive. Very neat.
But currently, most custom kernels aren't compatible with CAF ROMs (from what i've read anyway, haven't tried myself yet). So you won't be able to use Smurf on CAF ROMs (except if that changed haha).

Auto brightness learns your preferences so it will adapt. When it's too low, turn it up a bit, it will remember. But i never thought it was too dim.
You also have a "High Brightness mode" accessible through a quick setting in the status bar that boosts the brightness. But don't use it for more than a few minutes, it could damage the display. It gets brighter that what OnePlus intended.

Havoc is a good choice !
I just updated to the latest GCam Stable, the 1.4, in red on this page :

Added the OP6 config file that you can download with it, Motion Photos work in Google Photos.
This build is even better that the one I linked previously, try it !
It even has Focus Tracking, which recognizes objects and keeps the focus on them when they move, it's amazing

Thanks you ! It's a little better, but not have 3 seconds of gif, only 1 second. On my OnePlus 3 with Android 8 i get a longer motion photo, on google website they talk about 3 seconds for Motion photo.
Sometime pics make Google Photo crash, it very annoying because I felt everyone does not care about Motion Photo, i'm alone with my dumb trouble

I've got around 1 second of motion too ! And yes i had a motion photo crash the Photos app once too, but it didn't happen after this ... Probably still not perfectly stable

Ok thank you, i think we cannot get better for now. I find this strange because, i see many people want TopShot feature, but with a 1 second gif, i find it not very useful.
My ROM is causing my phone to be way too buggy so I need to reflash. The question, with 10 out, what ROM should I get?
Im currently on 7.1.2 so I want to go beyond that
I understand the outdated "test and see which is best" XDA mentality but my phone is for my job and I work all day so I can't be with a buggy phone and be testing, wiping, etc. every day/hours; I need a working phone and stable features. Switching phones is something on the table but honestly, there isnt a phone for me: S10+ gets its warrant voided if flashed and the Oneplus 7 Pro is missing a 3.5mm plus has no water rating. I really like the F(x)tec Pro1 but I need some more information before I jump the gun on a unknown maker.
Things I need is
* Bluetooth hands free MUST work.
* GPS must work
* Camera and its flashlight must work
* Data (4G/WiFi) must work
* I need battery life to maintain a stable level; I can't be carrying powerbanks or stuff like that.
* Responsive; The phone is showing its age but it must be able to keep doing simple tasks as fluid as it can
* Bluetooth hands free MUST work. (Yes, its that important)
What do you recommend?
Thanks
have you already tried LineageOs 16? It is very responsive and I have not encountered any major bug: This is why i am using it as my daily driver.
But I have no idea if Bluetooth hands free works to be honest, because I have no way to test it out.

For battery life and responsiveness, I would keep sultan's 7.1.
Right now I'm using Tugapower (Android 9). Pretty stable and everything you mentioned works just fine. There's a random reboot occasionally, but it might be some APP (it's very rare so I didn't mind to track). Also, battery life isn't as good as sultan's 7.1, but my battery is already 5 years old and accubattery estimate it to be at 2300mah (74%).

Fair enough. I would need someone to chime in how their Bluetooth hands free works but thank you for your input.

I cant play around with battery life being upstable or unsure.
You will get huge screen off batery drain in 9.0 roms. I tried everything and no success. I am using sultanxda 7.1, lightning kernel new 57 and magisk. Magisk Modules are FDE.AI and dns switcher (keweon dns). I get 4 hour SOT in wifi and 3 in mobile data. Batery effectively around 70%. Performance its pretty good.
I use bluetooth headset to make calls since my mic is broken and i had bo problems.

This is not my Module. Credits to @notzeetaa
I came across this magisk module in the Poco phone forums originally, and I've noticed that a lot of tweaks for the pocophone seem to work well with our G7.
You can find this module here: https://t.me/s/ZeetaaProjects
I've been running it long enough to feel comfortable posting here, however use it at your own risk. If temperatures get too high charging will either slow down or cut off temporarily. This module is best for needing a quick charge in a pinch, where you can set your phone down for a few minutes because it can get warm depending on what other mods you may have or your kernel settings if you're using your phone heavily while plugged in. I feel like the best way to use this is in conjunction with a charging control app or one of the magisk modules that give you full control over cut-off percentage/temp etc.
I have achieved a full charge beginning at 5% battery in less than 15 minutes. See the attached screenshot where I use ampere to monitor battery stats for proof that this works.
There was actually an update to the module. I just flashed it.
I also highly recommend the touch V8 module. It works on our phones as well and the difference in the touch screen responsiveness and smoothness is night and day. Updated results are below
Can we try it on v40?

It should work theoretically without a problem. As long as you have TWRP, just give it a shot. If anything goes wrong just open your file manager in TWRP and delete the module manually and you should be fine, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work just fine. There is a Turbo module that charges at 3000mah but if you do look closely the Telegram post Says it is recommended for use with a specific charger that I assume is native to Xiaomi phones, so I haven't had the courage to try it. Charging at 2500, my G7 stays at reasonable temperature.

Its in the link on my first post. It will take you to a telegram page. Be careful, because some of the touch modules have additional tweaks added that change CPU/ GPU values. Look for the ones that are just touch. The newest one is the touchX module.
What script is it really? Im hAving a hard time looking for it in their telegram
*Duplicate*
I tried them, the charging modules and the touch, and I didn't notice anything, are you sure they're not snake oil or placebo?
I can't find the module. can you provide the link ?

Just search Zeeta Projects in Telegram
But as I said, I didn't notice any differences and uninstalled them. Please report if you try them and it is different for you ...
This is actually a great module. It literally doubled the charging speeds on rooted stock Q, As I only have Samsung fast chargers, before I was getting up to 1 Amp only, now the phone is charging at 2 Amps without any issues, and it doesn't get any hot.
Got myself a realme gt neo 2 a few days back and got automatically updated to A09. My info says : RMX3370TW_11_A.09 which is weird as i bought the phone in Thailand (TH).
There is no Region option in the Language settings on my rom for some reason.
I have been trying to find the update to Realui 3.0 android 12 with a lot of VPN but no luck sofar
Anyone an idea how to get the update or is it maybe not released yet in this region ?
Thanks
<Moderator Edit>: English translation added to the top.

Is there idle drain in a09? Iirc that is the latest version for everyone while rui 3.0 is being rolled out.
No problems at all with idle drain or anything else in a09. Very stable

mine is on RMX3370_11_A.09 and for me, the idle drain is present. Losing 2% every hour is a lot.
I think it will be a while for a.09 user to be updated to rui 3. I've got the same version but I change my rom to indian a.07, register for trial version c.03 and from then, got official c.04 android 12 update. So far its been great. The battery is okay. After updating, I recommend to clear data or factory reset and give it some time to adjust to your usage and update the system in background. It only consume battery for couple of days and got back to normal. Don't worry about it.

You need to let the phone charge to 100% and just leave it charged for 3 hours in order to let the phone optimize it after every update. I just found out about this recently.
My only issue with a.09 is for some weird reason realme underclocked the cpu. So there is performance hiccup especially if you play games like genshin.

hmm does the 100% chargee state is in powered on / off position?
Your 2nd point is valid though. I forgot exactly how Pcore and Ecore frequency range when battery temps reach 45-46C playing genshin, monitored via cpufloat app.
Funny thing is if you multitask genshin and then opening antutu benchmark, the cpu frequency went all the way to the max. When idle, this improve genshin impact fps by like 5-10 fps in cities like Liyue. As soon as you focus to the game however, the cpu then throttle back. For me, this is the same as cheating lol.

Powered on. Afterwards I left it with wifi on untouched while I sleep. Probably up to 8 hours.
Yea this is kinda cheating. My guess is realme get bombarded with complaint by indian user not getting a lot of SoT when playing BGMI, so they release this update unannounced to underclock cpu hence giving you the illusion you have a better SoT while playing games.
The reality is you're using half of what sd870 have to offer. Pretty stupid of realme if my assumption is correct, since gaming for mobile realistically on heavy games you should only expect up to 4 hours max. Honestly idk why realme is doing this. Even on rui 3.0 it os underclock.

allright, i usually unplug the phone when battery % reach 82. You know, the more you actually charge to 100%, the less charge cycle you got during the battery lifetime. However i will try your suggestion, see if it will improve the idle drain. If it's not, then i assume the idle drain is always present and will have to wait until the Android 12 arrive. If android 12 does not solve this issue, i guess i have to live with it. I remember owning a Poco F1 and that phone idle drain is like 2% per 8 hours! Which is a total contrary to 2% per hour lmao.
Realme did put some sort of limit on the cpu side, i think, especially in Genshin. You can let the phone be cooled by active cooler like blackshark fun cooler 2. You open the battery app and it reads like 22 C. You turn on the so called "GT Mode" and run Genshin Impact. And the performance figure? Well it performed more or less the same when the device run without the cooler. And even if you use the cooler, and lower the graphic settings to the lowest, it wont get any better since it was cpu limited. (at least, this is my experience while monitoring things)

Yep pretty much the same thing for me. It was actually fine on a.07, but a.09 is when I noticed the underclock. Btw I've just received rui 3.0, updating it now and I'll see how it goes. Will update on performance etc.
Hello. An input to OP from a Swedish user.
I got my phone 1 week ago and even though version A.09 (Android 11) and UI 3.0 (Android 12) is released and available in my region, the phone would not update, or even find any updates. I checked the IMEI via Realme EU site and the IMEI and region checks out correct as EU version.
I found a tip on a Swedish site, and following that, I am now happy with my phone running Realme UI 3.0/Android 12. Here is what I did - please note that at least this worked for my Swedish EU phone and I am not sure if it works in general:
Downloaded and installed a VPN apk from Google Play store (not sure if I am allowed to name any specific)
Established connection to France via VPN
Checked for firmware - the phone immediately found the A.09.
Turned off VPN and downloaded and installed the update. I found out that it was enough to have the VPN connection active while searching for FW - the update could then be downloaded without VPN.
Once A.09 was installed correctly I once again activated the France VPN connection and searched for new FW - immediately the phone found the Realme UI 3.0/Android 12. Followed the same procedure as 4) and the phone is now running the correct region version of Realme UI 3.0.
BTW - I factory reset after the UI 3.0 installation - very fluid experience so far.
Hope this is helpful to EU users who haven't got UI 3.0. Good luck
