Merge between kernels, how can i ask for help? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, im a nexus 5 caf user, we are in a very nice point of features and optimization but well, like all the things we need some help with something.
In this case, our only custom kernel developer, lol4topnz, who is the developer of TrueSight is away, we cant do anything with it and our only one custom kernel is outdated and outperformed by the stock one sooo...
All i want is how to ask for help without being that noob, i mean, i dont want to shame myself asking for help in a dev section so, all we need is to add some features to the stock kernel, can it be done?

[Q] Aosp and Kernel

I am building an aosp ROM for the galaxy player 5.0 as an independent study at my school. I have the stock kernel for it that I extracted out of an odin image and I was wondering, do I have to build aosp around the kernel because I heard aosp kernels aren't good with the drivers and I need every function to work. I have found many tutorials for aosp and I am not going to use Googles since I can't understand that as much as other ones on the internet. Can someone enlighten me on the subject so I'm not going to fail, its due by january and I am still on the fence about whether I can do this. I just need some guidance and not to have somebody do it for me.

Kernal

Hello i was wondering if some one can point in the right direction to a good working kernal for my Nexus 5 and a good working app to manage settings
I tried Franco but the one I tried stalled my phone at the boot screen and the one before the newest one made my color go all like a bad acid trip
well, if you read anything about the kernel before you flashed it, you would know that if you are running cm you would specifically need a cm(caf) based kernel. franco kernel is an aosp kernel, which means its for stock or aosp, not cm. next time you flash something, read about it first, educate yourself before flashing anything.
Ok thank you, I am still learning the ropes here, takes time and patience I figure now the question I asked was if I can be pointed in the right direction and if there was an app I can use that can let me manage it
you just need to read the op of each kernel thread. if it says cm or caf, then you are golden.

Question - Wich LineageOS based ROM is Overclockable ?

Hi everybody.
I have testing some LineageOS based ROMs lately in my P5110 and P3110 and found no overclock option so far ?
Considering the low hardware profile in our tabs and the actual real overlclock, better user experience and battery tunning / real gain we get with some CyanogenMods 6.0.1, I see no point using, until now, the new LineageOS based ROMs!?
So I ask: Is there any known LineageOS ROM or compatible kernel with overclock potential that allows to improve the user experience as the "old" CM 6.0.1 does ?
Thanks

no
No luck here as well mate, I've been forced to stick with CM13 since OC and themes are a must for me
Best user experience, for me, is with CM 6.0.1 from "[ROM][P31xx][P51xx][MM][6.0.1][Linaro][SaberMod] CyanogenMod 13" (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2686613) and "[ KERNEL - AOSP] Dhollmen Espresso" from (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176563&page=138).
Can run everything I need with good speed and make tweaks to allow battery savings even possible!
Hello everybody.
I have read previous answers, thanks.
Considering the time since the original question, I would ask again:
1- if there is no option so far to add an overclocked kernel to our tabs ?
2- I am not a developer, but maybe I could get the info needed to build my own overclocked kernel and share it with the forum, where to start from ? I think these would really be faster for those already with the proper skills to do it! I mean: do you developers really use your tabs without overclock nowadays ?
Thanks again.

1-There is still no overclock available.
2-I am not a developer (yet) but I think the tab is fast enough as it is (running Slim7 if you want to know) and I don't think overclock is necessary. The place to start for building a kernel is google. I think I saw a guide in the past.
Also, keep in mind that devs make things because they want to and get no reward for that. So don't ask or press them to make anything. If you create your own kernel it will be greatly appreciated, but I think you wouldn't like people constantly asking you for something (and yes, overclock has been asked for a lot of times in the past).

Learning to modify ROM/Kernel from Samsung Galaxy Tab Active SM-T365

Hey, i got a little project right here. It's important to say that i have knowledge in this kind of stuff but i never messed around with it except from installing roms on my phone.
I have to modify my self a ROM and kernel from android stock ROM (lets say Lollipop 5.1.1).
I need to do stuff like disabling the SD/Bluetooth /WI-FI in the kernel and comping a new ROM. Can someone here send me to the right places to learn how can i achieve this?
Thanks in advance.

Lg g3 kernel development help please

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me to build a custom kernel for my lg g3 D855 I have done android development before so its nothing too new for me and I've had quite success in the past but these not many forums about this topic and especially up to date the trouble is either the code to install required packages in Linux don't work or I get random errors when building the kernel like a error 2 or 1 which there is nothing online about this error
So again I would really appreciate it if someone could lead me in the right direction or just some help anything is better then nothing
If you want to know what I'm trying to do then I want to build a custom kernel to overclock the phone but also help in performance because on full stock it gets too hot and constantly lags so I have install a custom ROM on the phone, the viper os ROM and hope to make a kernel to have a full custom phone and I can't use kernel apps like kernel adiutor because the setting don't save and there's no overclocking present after the reboot so that's why I want to make a kernel plus I would enjoy making one instead of getting one offline and most of the custom kernels for the D855 either bootloop the phone or puts it in download mode so there are many reasons why I want to make one and source.android.com seems awkward to follow along with but I have been doing dev stuff for a few months now so I know a fair bit about it just not as much as I would hope
Thanks for reading the post I know its a long one if you can help me it would be much appreciated
