I've been trying to keep the G+ app from running. The only reason I want it is for the G+ photos app. It's much easier to keep track of all my backed up photos. If I disable G+, then photos app disappears as well. I used app ops X to remove all permissions including keeping awake, and I also greenified it. It still keeps waking up the device. I often check BBS and see G+ app itself kept it awake for 8 min at a time which is really annoying seeing as I don't even use it. My question is, would it be a good idea to convert G+ to a user app? Could that keep it from being so persistent? And would it cause any problems? Of course the best thing to do would just be to try it but I figure I ask first. Also, I've never converted a system app to user before and I found an app that does it automatically. Would it be better to do it manually?
Try freezing it in Titanium Backup
odd. i use g+, and often. yet it NEVER wakes my device. if you are using it to bsckup your photos, then thats why its probably waking your device, to upload photos. it uploads at a slow speed, so it can take some time to upload photos, which would keep your device awake.

Do you think that would get rid of the photos app? I don't have Titanium Backup so I wanted to make sure it doesn't before I bought it.

My backup is turned off. The only reason I want the app is to have access to all of my photos. I rarely back them up. Usually if I'm clean flashing something.

it's possible, I actually just found that setting today and I turned it off so I will see how it behaves. I just couldn't understand how it was waking up even though I denied its wakeup permission.

usually there are multiple services involved, so if you dont disable all of them, it can actually make it worse as one service is trying to work but the other cant.

I noticed something interesting. I went back and allowed all G+ permissions, and this morning I got a notification from google photos. I removed notifications from G+, and then went into the sync options and for some reason all of the G+ syncs were checked. I unchecked all of them yesterday.
I have unchecked all sync options, it's installed as an user app, greenified it, used disable service to disable a few things but still G+ wakes up the device at least 5-10 times over night. The periods are very minute and usually between 2-5 seconds.
Never had this issue on my previous device (HTC One X). I guess it's just the way it is.

Wow, that's interesting. Mine doesn't seem to wake up often. But when it wakes up it runs for around 10 min before greenify takes care of it. I just found it really annoying how I went to disable the sync and it re-enabled it. Having it as a user app, did you notice the sync options being automatically rechecked?

Yes, I did. Mine doesn't check them automatically like your's
Besides that, I noticed the battery life with and without G+ and it's pretty much the same so I've made peace with myself over this annoyance. LOL

Hmm, maybe I'll try making it a user app and see if it works for me. By percentages G+ would sometimes take 6-10% of the battery which I wasn't happy about. Which method did you use to turn to user app?
In addition, I haven't even logged in yet to the photos app because I just clean flashed 4.4.4.

Yeah man. Since it wakes up for 10+ mins for you each time, the 10% loss is justified. That really sucks.
Just move the "com.google.android.apps.plus" file from /system/app OR /system/priv-app to /data/app. Fix permissions (rw-r-r) and then reboot.

Yes, ES would work just fine. Mount system as RW in ES and then copy the apk which I mentioned earlier and paste it in /data/app.
After transferring the file, Hold it, and select Properties in ES file explorer menu. A box will popup. See whether the permissions are set to "rw-r-r" over there and then reboot.

I decided to wait until the end of the day to see if the sync got reactivated. They were fine for the day, but I checked this morning and it was back. Game data/G+/G+ photos and G+ photo backup was ticked again. I'll change to user app tonight and see if same thing happens tomorrow morning.
@vin4yak It already checked the sync back on. I followed the instructions, including checking permissions but after rebooting G+would crash. It was the PlusOne.apk in system/app. I couldn't find the name you provided.
I just bought the mentioned phone and I'm experiencing some weird problems on it. For example, I disabled most of the google apps by going to the App menu > Edit and disabled them by pressing the "minus" on the icon. Now if I want to re-enable them in Settings > Applications by going to the Disabled Apps section, pressing Enable and it gives me the option to DISABLE it again? WTF? Seems like I can't enable any app I disabled now..
The second thing is, it's more of a question really.. If I long press the home button, it only makes a short vibration and does nothing at all, is that normal or should something pop-up?
I mean really!? Ok, when you've pressed the enable toogle and the toggle becomes "disable" it means the app is already enabled and it gives you the option to disable it again.
Long press of the home button brings you to google now app, you must have disabled it.

I have DISABLED an app, therefore the app is DISABLED. If I want to enable it, the button there clearly says "Enable" but when I try to do that, I get a pop up as I was trying to disable it, which it already is.. Why don't you get it? xD

Ohh I get it now, if you've disabled it and the app is already updated, and you're trying to enable it again. Just click the pop up to disable it again, it just wants you to uninstall the updates and it reverts back to the apps factory version, and press the enable toggle again, the app will be enabled. You just have to reupdate the app again. In the touchwiz home you can directly disable an app but in the applications manager when you try to disable apps you have to uninstall the updates. Since disabling through the home launcher is just a shortcut.
Just touchwiz things.

It's normal, if you're not rooted. It's not really a bug, it's just a feature of touchwiz. My stock S5 and S4 has this, too.

Oh okay then.. I thought I got some faulty phone Any news on when is the ram management fix coming? Seems like my ram is staying at 80-90% at all times.. even when I'm not running any apps..
Also, do you recommend disabling the apps you don't use? For example I have disabled most of the google apps on there, since I'm not prone to use them..
Has anyone used or tried this out? Also is this a free app or a trial after you register it? Not sure exactly what it does. My wife has it on her S6 but she disabled it.

Yep. Gets re-enabled upon restart. Seems silly allowing it to be disabled if it's just going to turn itself back on but what do I know?
Any way to disable this app completely,
I have disabled all sensor through the setting app, but still Shealth drain much batt althouh i am not using it.
Thanks
Any idea? Still getting the weekly report and s health running in the backround although every setting is disabled including notifications
go to s health on watch , then in setting in health nudges try to disable everything and then roll down and turn the auto HR off as well
also you have to disable workout detection in same menu
in this case you will not get any notification about s health and you get more battery

Where is autostart - do you mean "Auto Open Apps"? And how do you disable a single app from this setting - I thought it was all or none?

I've disabled S-Health in my Galaxy S7 and stopped all notifications but I still get weekly S-Health notices on my S3-Frontier. And I have everything I can possibly find relating to S-Health (nudges, etc) disabled on the watch too.
And BTW, I cannot find anything called autostart unless you mean "Auto Open Apps" on the watch. Frustrating!

I'll wait for the next week to see if i still get the weekly report.
Any way, i think i solved the problem cause right now its disabled and not running in the backround. Right now its not in the list off the apps battery usage as u can see in the attached photo.
You should go to the S7 settings, applications, application manager, choose s health and press on disable icon and force stop.
After 1 week still geting the weekly report.

Hey Guys,
I bought a brand new Honor 6x yesterday and rooted it ( I followed a thread from XDA). Unlocked bootloader, flashed twrp and then installed SuperSU. I want this device to use one and only one app which I have developed. Problem is that, after starting the app, one background service is started, but the Honor 6X is killing them randomly. Very frequent. Even the onDestroy method is not getting called in that scenario.
I know that when we remove the app from task manager, the services gets killed in the Honor 6X, but in my case, I just minimise the app and then also the services gets killed.
Is this something related to rooting? I tried rooting Nexus 5 and in that also, the services gets killed.
Any help will be helpful.

No. Sadly it didn't work out as expected. After adding app in that list, now the services are not getting killed but at the same time, the services are not getting called correctly.
Like, I call a particular service every 1 minute, when the screen is turned on, it works perfectly. But as soon as the screen gets off/ or the app is minimized, the service starts randomly. Like sometime it will get fired after 2 min, sometime 4 min and rarely at a mentioned frequency i.e 1 min.
Any idea why this is happening. The frequency in which the service is called is very important for my application.
Thanks.

Go to settings>battery, go to settings icon on top right, make sure everything off in there. I only turn on keep mobile data on during sleep (keep whatsapp always online).
Then go to settings>memory & storage>storage cleaner, go to settings icon on top right and turn off auto clean.
Lastly go to settings>apps, choose the apps that u want always active, go to battery, make sure system wake up on, after that go to write system settting, make it yes.
Remember to restart phone after settings applied.
See if it works.
