The background stays black even if the the notif bars in the themes are white/blue/etc. If you guys could provide me with a solution that would make my day.
Details:
Huawei gr5 2017, emui 5.0, android 7.0
Build # BLL-L22C636B360
Have you been able to sort this out? I've been also trying to change the colour of the bar, both with themes from the Theme Store and by trying to modify a theme with EMUI Theme Editor but was unsuccessful.
You have to root your device. Then, with a root explorer, go to /system/emui/lite/prop , find local.prop and modify the "true" value in ro.build.hw_emui_lite.enable=true for "false". Then reboot and you can full theme notification bar.
Thank you, unfortunately that didn't work. Modified it, rebooted, changed theme to one with modified bar, rebooted again but still stock notification bar. Is it possible, that the emui theme editor just isn't (fully) compatible yet with nougat/emui 5.0?

I've just tried the emui theme editor app and it seems that background colour can't be changed. I guess it isn't fully supported yet. You can get a theme with the panel that you like and then modify it.

I'm using a different device, the P8 Lite 2017 on EMUI 5 and Android 7.0..i tried this trick, but it doesn't work. Im not even talking about the Theme Editor, just the normal themes for EMUI 5, and all they change are the App Icons, wallpaper, and lock screen wallpaper. A bit off topic but still, EMUI 5 theme issue..you guys got them to work correctly?
Sadly, I haven't found a solution to this minor glitch. Though I saw a potential solution. I'll update you guys if it works.
i was having a same problem with default theme app, try different themes or try this:
download this app from playstore
Themes Manager For HUAWEI EMUI, try a justice league theme and apply. If it works then you should be all set, its just the bug with theme which you have downloaded.

Hope you did the work around if not do the following:
Make sure you have provided Su access to the module and its in active mode.
Uncheck the LG rom check box and do a system restard within the app from the top right corner.
Make sure while doing the same you have wifi enabled.
Once you see wifi themed then recheck the lg rom box and do a system ui restart.
Restart your phone. It should work now.
Though a fix for the work around has been made which will be there in next update as currently adding more theme options.
Doesn't work even with that method.

So I just gave the 12/28 version a shot and Xposed Installer crashes after boot. This is with an uninstall for the old version, reboot and install new. I also tried rebooting after the fresh install but got the same results.

Ya that was due to experimental version 2.7. If you roll back to 2.6 your issue will be gone.
I recomend to uninstall this version and do a fresh install of version 6.0 above with lot of fix and features introduced.
For more clarification, i am just a post awat
Hi,
- I've rooted my one+ One phone and have TWRP installed.
- I'm running Cyanogenmod 12.1. (Android 5.1.1)
- I have Xposed installed and Ifont with it's per-app module activated in Xposed.
I'm trying to do two things: 1. Change the system font. 2. Once the system font is changed, change the clock font back to the factory font.
Using Ifont, I successfully change the system font. However, I am unsuccessful at changing the clock font back to default android font or any other fonts without soft-bricking the phone after reboot. In Ifont, I go to per-app function. I select the clock app and change the font family to the default android font. But once I reboot, the phone gets stuck at the Cyangenmod boot logo. Luckily, I have a back up which I restore afterwards. I have tried with the google clock app as well as the Chronus widget.
Could anyone help me achieve this step by step or is this not possible to do. I have tried different things I found on the internet but none work or don't apply to me.
Thank you very much.
Hi guys I'm guessing how to change font on EMUI 5. Someone said I can find the option in Display settings but I can't find it. I've FRD-L09 and I tried on B320 and B360 version.
Thanks for help.

There's an app in the Play Store called EMUI Theme Editor that I believe changes fonts.

In the description it says they added support for EMUI 5, but that you just need to restart your device after applying it for it to appear.

Have you tried other apps like "iFont"?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kapp.ifont
If you have the Xposed framework installed though then it's probably better to download the latest version through Xposed and activate it in there for more of a chance that it will work with EMUI 5. There is also another Xposed module called "Fonter" that I'm pretty sure I used on my last device and it worked well. It also says in the description for that one that it has support for Huawei devices, so maybe it's worth a shot. If you don't have the Xposed framework installed btw, then I recommend installing it anyway as it allows you to do a lot of things that your device would not normally do.
Then of course there's always the possibility that you do have the font functionality in your B-320 version of the FRD-L09 like @Saythis showed you a couple of weeks back on this duplicate thread you made.

I've tried everything to change fonts after rooted..Only thing that worked was to download font zip and rename the word (.zip) to (HWT) and move to theme and that worked..
I do not have this option in display settings. Also I don't want to root and install xposed and other ****s... Tried with label apps in the market without success. Also changing the extension from zipped ttf to hwt won't work. I believe the option is totally missing

Can you tell me if you are on C432? Because it seems on c432 there are some options missing such as separated 4G icon in navigation menu and also fonts in display.

That's the issue then.
look for an app named " Themes Manager For HUAWEI EMUI " from Deishelon Lab.
it will enable fonts on your device then you can start downloading new ones and changing the default font.you can find it on google play. it works well for me . i have an honor 8 FRD-L09 B386.
I made a mistake: accidentally applied a theme, which contains iOS emojis - but this theme is compatible with emui 5, and I'm on 8.0.
All the emojis disappeared and I have no clue how to get it back.
I don't have root access, because of some banking apps.
How can I get back them?
Edit: I found a theme with Oreo emojis and with EMUI theme editor I could put the emojis into my theme I use.
Since updating, 3 devices.. the options to customize status bar, text, dialer etc show nothing.. Tried changing regions.. nothing.. also all themes to download only show 3 pages, none show text etc.. anyone know a fix/workaround?
I saw a video on YouTube on how to use MIUI 10 themes on MIUI 11 (you have to be rooted btw).
Otherwise I guess we just have to wait for MIUI 11 compatible themes.
Ikr‽ so frustrating!!!

Same here…& even the miui 11 compatible themes don't have those customization options either…I hate it!!! Wish I could downgrade back to 10!
I'm getting the same problem on my Poco F1. Any workaround yet guys? (factory reset won't fix as well)
Same issue on my Violet since I upgraded to miui 11
Same! I spend a day clicking on various themes link and applying tons of themes but none worked, then i realised that it was miui 11 causing the problem.
there is a magisk mod so that you can inject Miui 10 themes on MIUI 11 os.
and so far using this, i can say that the status bar and notification shade is changing according to theme selected.
Same problem here.

Your phone must be root.
Go to root file explorer root/data/system, change permissions to 755.
It works for me.
