Hi
I have a massive problem with my S7.
I wanted to install TWRP on my phone so I could take a backup of my MM setup before upgrading to Nougat.
Once I installed TWRP I found that due to encryption on the device I couldnt take a backup. I then tried to reboot my phone but now it gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S7 logo and just boot loops.
Can anyone help or suggest how to get my phone working again?
Cheers

I had the exact same problem. In your case I just booted my device into "Download Mode" and flashed the stock Nougat from the Sammobile page using Odin (download the appropriate version for your device) [in Download Mode it should say what version of Galaxy S7 you have, for example G930-5F/FD and so on] then you are good to go.
P.S. Don't worry, that is just a softbrick it's nothing to really worry about.
EDIT: If you want an simpler process, try to flash the stock rom using Smart Switch on your computer. Both methods worked for me

The Roms for Galaxy S5 wont work on your edition of phone, not even sure there is a restore file for your phone on sammobile, i dont think there is yet...sammobile.com is the site to get Odin file, see if they have it. Thats the first question u have to answer, dont wanna bork your phone with root and not have a way to get back to stock.

Chainfire was kind enough to create an Auto Root for the Sprint Galaxy S5 Sport.

I used Chainfire's auto root for the Sport yesterday and it worked perfectly. However, I tried flashing philz recovery for the s5 after rooting and all I get is a bootloop when trying to boot into recovery. I've done this multiple times on different devices without any problems so I'm assuming the regular s5 recovery is not compatible with the Sport. Does the auto root already include its own recovery or is there one that is compatible with the s5 sport? Or is there something I'm missing here?

Not sure if there is a custom recovery for your phone yet, just flash Chainfires CF-autoroot again, it won't harm anything, his root method flashes root with custom recovery, then in same instance flashes stock recovery back onto it. This will at least get u out of bootloop and not change anything u have done to phone. Go to sammobile.com and get the firmware for your phone. That will be pretty much your recovery until one is made for your phone, which will happen in due time.

I was able to get out of the bootloop. The phone works fine and is rooted. The only problem I was having was trying to get the recovery to work properly. So far I've only tried philz. Maybe TWRP would produce different results? I will try flashing later today and report back. Thanks for the response

I tried flashing TWRP today and I'm getting the same result. It gets stuck in a bootloop when trying to boot into recovery. It shows the "Recovery is not seandroid enforcing" message and then restarts and does the same thing. The only way to get out of it is to pull the battery then boot into download mode and flash the recovery again and let it reboot normally. After that the phone goes back to normal with root permission but without a working recovery.
So the Sprint Galaxy S5 recovery image is no good for the Galaxy S5 Sport? There seems to be two conflicting stories. :\

This is the only rom that works for the sport versions, as far as I know. http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...cm12-5-0-2-t2987665/post60817711#post60817711
--Edit--
If you aren't already rooted then I don't think this will work, if you aren't rooted just tell me and I'll give you the files necessary.
I am on a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport running Lollipop 5.0, with a build number: "LRX21T.PVPU2BOH1". Can my version of Galaxy S5 be successfully rooted and have a working recovery mode with the ability to flash ROMs?

Hey guys!
So this n00b was going to get rid of all the bloatware on SM-G920F using the following ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...xtrestolite-deodexed-mod-edition-1-3-t3119968
So i used ODIN 3.10.6 and chainfire CF-auto root: https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
what i missed here is that this auto root was for 5.0.2 and i have 5.1.1
I'm guessing that this is causing my bootloop or bootfreeze?
I can't switch off my phone, screen is constantly at the "GALAXY S6 POWERED BY ANDROID" screen with the small red text "recovery is not seandroid enforcing".
If i hold the volume down, home and power button it will restart/reboot but still be stuck on the GALAXY S6 POWERED BY ANDROID screen.
So what now? i have to wait for the battery to die before i can try to get it in download mode or maybe even recovery mode?
What info do you guys need in order to help? i'm sure there is a simple fix? I'm in Sweden btw
EDIT: So only 2 hours after posting this the screen had gone black... and waiting another 20 minutes i tried to boot it in download mode, and it worked. @ Work right now so i want to try fixing this later today. So any one know for sure how to undo my root that failed? Can i Flash all stock by using Kies3 in download mode?
Appreciate your help guy's
EDIT 2: I can boot to TWRP... tried wipe and recovery. do you think i need to wipe/format data? If i format data what would be my next step? come on guy's help me out here
I think the wrong change of cf-auto-root causing this bootloop and bootfreeze, so if you want to get root change the right version of cf-autoroot. If you want to Flash all stock rom i advice to use odin because i dont know if kies3 can recognize your device

This is what i think as well... You don't happen to know where to find a good trusted root for the galaxy s6 F920F?
Phone started!!
OK so i got the phone up and running again.
i flashed this kernel: https//github.com/AndreiLux/ref-3.10/releases/tag/alpha3
So RGB colours are different and youtube way worse. So this brings me to my next question; Can i do a factory data reset now? Will it make my phone standard again?
I am talking about the factory data reset from settings/backup and reset/Factory data reset... that will erase all storage, device settings etc....
if not... how can i turn my phone back to normal?

To get everything back to normal...
Download latest stock firmware for your phone from Sam Firmware and then flash it via ODIN. Just do it
It will reset your phone, but probably not the contents of internal /sdcard.
Dont use CF-AutoRoot as its not compatible with 5.1.1 anymore. To root your device, just flash any supported kernel you can find for Galaxy s6 as it has preinstalled root in it.
Dont use you CF-Auto root in 5.1.1.

OK. i found this firmware PDA: G920FXXU3COI9 & CSC: G920FVDS3COI6
My original baseband is: G920FXXCOJ5 & G920FXXU3COI9
Will this firmware work for my phone? it is for my country.
thanks for your help so far!
Yes it will work, though if you're from 5.0.2, you can't downgrade anymore after flashing 5.1.1(COI9 based).

Help out a noob here - what do you mean "it has preinstalled root in it?". I may be facing the same problem here. Thanks!
Bob
So my S6 Edge (O2UK) is stuck in a recovery bootloop, It can go into download mode.
Things I have tried
Reflashing firmware (Odin fails at hidden.img)
Clearing cache etc in TWRP
The bootloop was caused by SuperSU as it asked me a question about TWRP recovery and something obviously corrupted or is badly configured.
Any help is appreciated!
Have you solved your problem? I've got exactly the same....

In the future, when it prompts to root, don't swipe to allow it.
Now reflash the rom, either stock or custom.

I also have G925F.
Open Samsung Kies on your computer, plug your phone in. Select tools then firmware upgrade and intilisation. Let it do its thing. I was in same place but not because up super SU but because of the Dm verity.zip i forgot to flash over the top of TWRP.
I tried all sorts going back to stock worked to get it running. And I wont be messing with root on Sammy devices anymore. Too much to go wrong, and most tuts at rooting are not complete. Get a One
Hey all,
I tried rooting my Galaxy S7 today with Odin 3.11.1 and I thought it all went fine, it said it passed and that it was successful. However when it starts to boot it gets no further than the boot screen which says "Samsung Galaxy S7" and then "Powered by Android" at the bottom. There isn't an unlocked padlock on the screen either which I thought there was meant to be. Any help would be much appreciated and at this point I am more than happy to just go back to stock firmware and forget rooting even exists.

Nothing is a guarantee when you flash devices with custom stuff and break them
But flashing stock is guaranteed to take you back to stock obviously, so long as it flashes successfully (It will not reverse KNOX 0x1 though, good chance you've tripped KNOX already)
Seems you have reservations about flashing stock, but quite happy to try rooting the phone using an outdated ODIN?
Try downloading a stock firmware from sammobile (make sure to find the right model and android version), extract it and then flash it with odin (assuming that you can still enter download mode). File is quite large to download, but Internet Download Manager (IDM) could speed up the process by 4-5 times. As for rooting, I have an S7 myself and I managed to successfully root it using Odin and chainfire's auto root file. However, I was also stuck in your situation the first time I tried and had to factory reset before trying again. Can't remember the cause though.
The easiest way is using samsung smart-switch.
There is a menue "emergency-recovery" or similar.
Follow the instructions and it will automatically download the actual firmware and flash it.
Good luck
I tried to install twrp on my phone(Samsung Galaxy A20s-(A207F/DS) following this tutorialhttps://www.androidaddicts.online/i...n-android-phones-samsung-included-using-odin/).
I entered download mode and on odin it said flash was successful after i tried to reboot my phone i was stuck in bootloop of download modeHere's the image. Now i'm in a different screen where it says:Secure Check fail:recovery.img.Here's a link to the image:Error Message
