So I started building my own LineageOS builds some days ago, mainly because of the following reasons:
- I want a clean Lineage ROM and don't need a ROM thats bloated with features, ultra xx compiler optimizations or anything
- I want to decide when I want a new build
Whats currently included:
- Pixel Theme (no OMS/Substratum as I don't need it. Just the clean Pixel look)
- Magisk for root access
- AptX support
In Progress:
- Pixel sounds
If I find something useful I might add it to the ROM too.
I would really like to share it with others but it's a bit stressful for me to upload with my 1MBit uplink. If there is enough interest I can share it.

I'd deffo use this as I'm in same boat as you, i like the pixel theme but dont like using OMS and no bloat etc- I'd love for most imbuilt apps such as browser, texting and others to be removed so i can just use the google ones. sounds good

I think it would be better to use the stock gapps package from opengapps.org and create a gapps-config on your sdcard. I don't want to remove anything which could be useful for others. The apps which have been removed by the gapps package also stay removed permanently after a ROM update.

it's called FIUI not MIUI
He made one for FIUI I have a copy of it from last month. Did you see the link to the full post? And on top of that he showed how to make your own FIUI ROM.

seems nice I have seen the post on MIUI too, but haven't tried it that yet... whats so special about this rom ? (just curious) have tried to search some youtube videos but they don't show much about the rom... I mean special features...

So first, your link points to an old alpha build. As i could understand that thread, they use FIUI 2.5.0, while my build uses latest 2.11.0.
Second, my build is based on Xperience.cyanogeN, so battery life and sound should be a little bit better.
And NO, i didn't used the port method mentioned in that thread. You can read that in credits.
And NO, i didn't steal that port. Mine is based of Nexus 4 build by nic and was 'compiled' yesterday.
Plus, this Rom should be stable - not alpha. It's based on CM11 M12 - i had no FC except FIUI Launcher but that's not my part, it also happens on offical N4 build.

FIUI's navigation Method is different:
You dont have the default nav bar. On some apps you dont have any at all (e.g. homescreen, camera), on some you only have back and menu buttons.
Home and recents can be used by swiping from bottom center and bottom right.
Then, the statusbar will be tinted automaticly, like iOS.
And FIUI has an own design, something like miui in Material .
do we have cynogen apps in rom or fiui apps ? like camera music player etc ?
Nice Rom, just installed as 2nd Rom with multirom.
Good feature - the dynamic navbar.
Gapps: is it too much to read the op?
I believed that it was under lollipop... Pity ... What is exactly fui could we compare it to miui ?
Just download the rom and try it out.

FIUI has (currently) no own apps,
Google Camera, Google Play Music and Chrome are included (as in original N4 rom)

Yes, it's also a chinese Rom. Fiui looks similar MIUI6. Fiui is currently based on CM11, sorry. I know it's not the best time to release a Rom based on 4.4.4 kitkat.

Not necessarily. Cm did not implement the theme engine for nougat yet. When it is available on cm probably bliss will get it to.
I will update Bliss cuz it gives internal error (with vendor) I will use 7.0.0_r12 (for bullhead)

It prerelease of the official verson, cuz i dont use custom resources, only official Bliss sources! And Jolla Kernel was in Bliss bullhead manifest, i don't changed anything

I found this ROM on the CypherOS thread for Surnia/Otus at XDA.
For clarification, I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER OR THE MAINTAINER OF THIS ROM. I AM JUST SHARING THIS ROM ON XDA.
Thanks to @CarlosPinheiroT who has compiled this ROM for OTUS!
This ROM does not have the Wifi bug which some other ROMs for OTUS have.

I do not own this device, but I have already compiled some ROMs for it. From what I've seen, this device does not have official support yet.

The Get Google Assistant app does work from the Play Store, after you follow the steps in the app you have to give your device some time for it to reconfigure for Google Assistant to take over

I did that. Left my device overnight... When I go to Google settings, Google assistant UI shows up for seconds and then disappears. Then it goes to settings, google assistant is turned on in settings. However, when I hold the home button, nothing happens.
"Ext SD card operations not possible. Workaround: You can do the basic operations using the built in SD card explorer in Android"

I don't think so, I think it has to do with partitioning, it is very different than what people are used to, give it some time, I am sure Pure Nexus will release one when ready and when TWRP, su are a little more stable

Some part of it is absolutely GAPPS. DU has it built in rn because there is no flashable GAPPS. This issue though is tied in with the partition scheme I believe.

Cyanogen is dead, not the source. The code has been forked and devs need time now...

Yea idk why people think CM is dead. Just getting back up and running on new servers under a different name..
Ask and you shall receive. The post promoting Carbon ROM just showed up, with warning about gApps issues.. Available for download soon. I've always liked this ROM.
Edited 1/1/17: ROM currently has issues with gApps (as in none available yet). Also has issues with slot system. Hang tight!
So I know this thread is 6 weeks old, but there are a good number of ROMs and kernels available now.
I personally recommend PureNexus. I've been using Beanstown106's ROMS since I had a S3, he does great work. I've also just installed ElementalX kernel, which is supposed to be a very battery friendly kernel.

No lineage yet as far as I know according to the forms. This rom in my opinion is as good as lineage. Especially if u run a good kernel with it. Try it out!!
