Root - Moto G3 Osprey - LineageOS su (arm) - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, how are you?
Is it possible to access the root by installing LineageOS (su arm) in Android Stock 6.0.1?
Thank you

not as far as I know.

theoretically, yes but stock rom does not have that particular root interface to detect and act like rooted after flashing LOS su. that's built into the LOS. so no. you need to flash supersu or magisk or anything of your choice that comes with it's own root interface.

I'm assuming you have trouble rooting because it's marshmallow. Just another version of SuperSU is required. Also, you can completely "skip" the root process. Just install a new ROM that has inbuilt root through the recovery and update the SuperSU binary if needed. That's what I did

Root disappeared after custom ROM installation

Hi, I have root my device recently and installed custom ROM Pure Nexus 7.1.2 unofficial. After OS has been booted, I see Super SU missing form the new ROM. I have tried rooting again but that doesn't work as it is intended for 6.0.1 marshmallow but not for Nougat. Anybody have any insight how to get root in Nougat?
Thanks,
Gokul

There are two Root methods..
Magisk & SuperSU
You choose which one you liked.. I'm personally not using Root
For Magisk You can get information & download links here -
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
For SuperSU - https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133

Is rooting, super su installed rom?

Hello
I am using G8141.
I'm trying to use aaGateway (android auto wireless).
I installed Lineage OS 16 version yesterday, but that version doesn't support rooting.
I installed version 15 but there is a problem with booting.
How to root Lineage OS 16
Will Rom have finished rooting? The android version doesn't seem to matter.
Have you installed TWRP?
And why on earth you're using SuperSU in 2019?
Try magisk plz

Find boot.img for Lineage OS 14

Hi,
I installed custom ROM Lineage OS 14 + Micro G on my 1032. Then I root it with SuperSu. But after that I would to install Magisk (to get sppof location working), but both are incompatible.
So I remove SuperSu with the unSu script from XDA.
Then tried to install Magisk v23 but I need to flash the boot.img from my ROM.
Where can I find it ?
I found stock for Android 4.4 but now I'm on android 7 with LOS 14.
Thanks

Unrooted my android tab (Lenovo A7600-F running RR 5.8.5 Android 7.1.2 ) but still fails root detection

I recently installed Resurrection Remix 5.8.5 Custom Rom by @SaberShip based on Android 7.1.2 which came with root access enabled and supersu installed by default. So I tried to unroot by flashing unsu.zip by @osm0sis through twrp recovery. After that I checked using Root Beer Sample app but my device was still showing up as rooted. It fails the dangerous build.prop and selinux flag tests. I need to unroot for using an education app which doesn't run on rooted devices.
To check whether Android is rooted or not people do it themselves via ADB
Code:
adb devices
adb shell "which 'su'"
If a path containg "su" is returned, Android is rooted, otherwise it's not.
To get rid off of root simply re-flash device's Stock ROM.

It didn't return with anything. The stock rom is Android 4.4 based and the app which I need to run needs android 7 atleast. That's why I flashed a custom rom based on Android 7, unfortunately which came with root enabled. Now I can't get rid of it completely and the app which I need to run says my device is still rooted.
