I have the unlocked Play Store Pixel (on Sprint), and when I activate the Bluetooth, it refuses to connect to my trusty Nexus 5. I can't even get it to accept a connection to the 5. They'll pair, and then refuse to connect at all. The box for "share internet connection" won't stay 'checked' on it either.
Anyone else try and Bluetooth pair a Nexus 5 with a Pixel? Anyone else encounter this issue besides me?

Hi
I just got my Nexus 5 yesterday and could not connect to the WIFI at work. People at work with Samsung Galaxy S4s are also unable to connect however the S3 and my Galaxy Nexus are able to connect fine.
There's two networks: a Guest network that doesn't require a password and a network that requires a password. I am unable to connect to either. The phone will say "Connecting" for a couple seconds and go back to "Saved". At home I'm able to connect fine.
I was wondering if anyone else is having similar issues, or know of a solution. If anyone had an S4 and now a Nexus 5 are you able to connect to networks you couldn't before?
Thanks
Jeff
This will be an issue with the network not the phone.
Has anyone else had problems using Bluetooth tethering with your Nexus 5?
I can pair just fine and have no problem accessing the Internet etc. initially; however, after a 5-20 minutes of use the phone stops forwarding bluetooth packets to the Internet. The phone's Internet connectivity remains and Chrome on the Nexus 5 works flawlessly. If I disconnect the PC I'm connecting to the my Nexus 5 and try reconnect then I'm unable to do so. Instead I have to turn the Nexus 5's bluetooth off and enable bluetooth tethering again.
This is my second Nexus 5 as the first one was RMA'd. My first device also had this exact same issue; and was one of many issues that caused me to RMA in the first place. However, given that this is happening again, it looks like this is likely some sort of driver bug rather than anything related to hardware.
I'll root the device and get some proper packet logs (in addition to kernel logs) when I get a chance. For now... has anyone else experienced this?
Interesting. I am having Bluetooth tethering issues with my Wimm, thought maybe T-Mobile was blocking, but hotspot worked fine and they said they weren't. Keep us posted.
Typed on the Nexus
Anyone know if it's possible to tether either via usb or bluetooth with the p900?
I just want a network connection between the two to use for ssh/telnet with Juice ssh and remote keyboard.
I can't use hotspot as I need be able to connect to the internet over my macbook's wifi. Public networks usually don't allow 2 devices to talk to each other so it doesn't work over wifi.
Ignore.
For anyone that has this issue on a Macbook you need to go into networks and makes sure that the Bluetooth PAN connects. It doesn't happen automatically as it does for my other android devices
The Note Pro is then accessible at 192.168.44.1
Actually I just connected to my phone as the bluetooth was on. So still a question is the P900 capable of bluetooth networking?
I tried the Bluetooth PAN app on the app store and it complains that the executable file /system/bin/pand is missing. Does anyone know of a way to add this in?
In case anyone else needs this USB tethering works fine using Valera1978's port of CyanogenMod 12.1.
I'm getting an error while trying to Bluetooth tether to my Nexus 7. I turn on Bluetooth tether and it tells me "service is not connected, please contact your carrier." My pixel is running 8.0. But I had this problem on 7.1 as well. I contact my carrier and they said that everything is good on their end. It's the phone. I was able to tether on my Galaxy s6. Any suggestions?
Hi,
I have recently (last week) joined the OnePlus party by getting myself the 7 Pro after being with Samsung since the S2 days.
I like the phone but there are a few issues I am having.
The main issue I am having is the Bluetooth Tethering. I need this for when I am in my car (Mercedes use this method for internet connectivity). I switch it on and try to connect but after a while it just tells me that the data connection is temporarily unavailable. My mobile data works fine so I'm assuming that isn't the issue. When I am parked on my drive and in range of my home WiFi and I try and connect the connection is successful. It is as if the phone is blocking the mobile data connection when accessing via bluetooth tethering. This wasn't an issue on my Note 9 using the same SIM.
Does anybody have a fix for this or are having similar issues? If this cannot work then it is a deal breaker for me and I'll be reluctantly returning the phone to Amazon.
On a side note I have even tried changing the dun status via ADB Shell after finding what was supposed fix online but it did not help.
Thanks
I am no Bluetooth expert, and it may not apply here, but there are a number of various Bluetooth settings that can be altered in the Developers setting. Maybe something there can help???
Hi Jaseman,
I shall look into that. Currently doing a full backup of the phone to my PC before doing a downgrade from Android 10 to 9. I'm hearing that 10 is buggy so I'm hoping that is the culprit.
Thank you for your reply.
