Honor 8 DUAL SIM not Working - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone,
Since i got my honor 8 dual sim 64GB, im living with a problem, that i dont know if its a issue or not.
If i just use 1 SIM card at SLOT, i cant make or receive any calls, just internet data. If i put 2 SIM cards, i have to set one to make calls, and the other to internet data. The question is, why cant i just use one sim card, to make calls and internet data?
Regards

You can assign which sim card uses call or data
Go into Dual Sim Manage and select from here buddies..
I never had a problem so far and running 2 Sims and micro SD card sometimes..

Thats what i Said. I can select which sim uses call or data when I put 2 sim cards. But if i use just one i cant make calls or receive. Just work for data.
What i realized is the slot that I set to 3g/4g is not able to make or receive calls.

L10 is not a dual sim device this is a single Sim only US version. European and Chinese version are dual sim..
So once again if this were a L09 /L19 you would need to go into Dual Sim Management as I said before..

It was a AL10, not L10. And its Dual sim stand by.
Like i Said, if i put just one sim card, only data will work.

Still not working. Maybe a hardware problem? I what to debrand to L04 or L14 but need oeminfo. If somebody could just send me the backup from srk tool i appreciate it

[Q] Xoom 3g sim card problem

Wondering if anyone can help, im using team Eos European 3g rom zoom. now i tried 1 sim card and the 3g works perfectly but when i try my other sim, i enter the pin code on screen , it accepts it, then immediately says "Sim card removed, the mobile network will be unavailable until you restart...." .
The sim card definitely isnt broken because it works in my phone and 3g modem on my pc. I've tried restarting the xoom with Wifi off and no luck.
Thanks

how old is that "other" sim card? Reason I'm asking is that sim cards use different voltages and old cards tend to cause problems in modern devices.
Around here, providers usually swap sims for free if you say that you've got a problem with one, so I'd go for an exchange if your sim is older that maybe two years...

Its actually brand new, got it on the weekend. It works perfectly everywhere else. I think i'll go to the provider anyway today and see if i can try a sim swap.
This really is baffling me now. I went back to the providers store and tried a different one of their sim cards and it doesnt work either. I just cant understand why my xoom can read certain providers sim cards and not others? (Its definitely not network locked). Could it possibly be the type of sim card (as in a 32k vs 64k etc)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

[Q] Pre-purchase questions

Just a few quick questions if I may,
1) I am looking to use this phone (6+) to dual sim, 1 for internet access and the other for calls and texts. Is this phone capable of using both sims at the same time or is it one that uses 1 at a time, even though 2 is inserted
2) I can't find stock (Readily available) anywhere except Three UK, but they don't list it as dual sim, is this phone dual sim or did they release a single sim variant?
Thanks in advance

1. Both Honor 6 and Honor 6plus(6+) are Dual-SIM,Dual-standby and Dual activity. You can use 2 sim cards same time.
2.Buy from international webstore if you dont mind wait a couple of weeks

2 sim on EU S8+, possible?

Hi, I recently bought S8+ in Scandinavia/EU and looking at the sim tray, there is a spot for 1 sim and 1 SD card. Is there any way to get 2 sim cards working instead of 1 sim 1 SD?
Thank you in advance

You mean that you don't know if you have a dual sim s8+ or a single sim? It must be written in the back as "Duos"...
I know that this (2 sim & micro SD card) happens in all Duos (Dual sim device)
But I don't think that you can do a single sim version to dual sim
To clarify, the question popped up as I saw some people on YouTube surgically detaching the sim and glueing it to their sd cards in order to get the 2nd sim working. But I assume if there is no actual reader to read the 2nd sim, that operation won't be successful. Thing is, I do not know if there is a reader or not on an European version of s8+?
It's quite impossible since the device must have two imei numbers.

Remove the sim chip from the telecommunications company and stick it behind the SD Card. Look at my photo. Then sim + SD card into the sim2 card slot. This sim2 card slot there sim with sd.
Dual sim on G955F?
Even though not marked on box, is it possible?

The answer is a simple no. Those videos show a dual sim s8 being modded so they can use the dual sim AND an sd card instead of OR.

No. Must have 2 IMEI's for that to work. There is no way to make a single sim phone a dual sim one.

Dropping calls on sim2

Hi everyone,
First post so be gentle
I got my dual sim honor 8 some months ago as I dont want to carry 2 phones around with me.
My personal sim and the phone are with Three UK and my work sim is with EE.
The three sim is in slot 1 and the EE simin slot 2 and I am finding the calls keep dropping for no reason on the EE sim. I can be in an area with full signal but when the call drops I cant dial out or receive calls. The phone goes to dial but just sits with the calling screen and then fails to connect.
After I have moved it works again, its generally happening in the same places too but places that shouldnt be an issue.
Whilst the sim 2 is in this condition I can still call out from sim 1 (Three) and this problem never occurs on sim 1 (Three).
I have tried swapping the sims over but the problem remains with the EE sim. I have tried to swap the 4g priority over but the Three sim is 3g only so wont work as the secondary sim.
I have spoken with my work IT and they have replaced the EE sim but this hasnt fixed it, I have called Three tech support who have reset this and reset that and run diagnostics and say nothing wrong with the handset.
Any ideas or any one else experienced this?
Many thanks
If it's from the EE sim card, then it's from them I believe

Hi,
I have and they advise no fault, they have even replaced the sim card to rule this out.
Just try with a 3rd operator on both SIM slots: that will rule out hardware problems.
As for 3G/4G, operators use different bands, but you shouldn't have any problem.

Hi all
This maybe a silly question, but I've looked for ages on here and didn't find an answer
Has anyone tried a dual SIM tray in a single SIM model to see if it does indeed have dual SIM support?
Thanks

Problem being a single sim phone will only have 1 imei#
Sent from my God Mode 8
Valid point, but still doesn't answer my question, if anyone has tried dual SIM tray, does it then activate and support dual SIM on single SIM phone, which in turn may activate second imei#

I'm wondering the same question. I have read of folks cloning their IMEI to do a dual SIM hack, however, I don't know of the success/viability.
I'm wondering if the 955F has dual SIM hardware....
