Hello, I have a Zoomtak T8 that is running Android 4.x.x. I've tried multiple times to contact the vendor to see if they have plans of upgrading the firmware as most apps are now(or soon) will be unsupported by the device.
My question: Is it possible to upgrade to a newer version of Android or I'm even open to erasing the firmware included with the device and install something else? I've tried running the OTA and Media Manager included with this product but it finds no new updates. Here are the specs of the device:
Zoomtak T8 Specifications:
CPU: Amlogic S802 quad-core Cortex-A9 CPU 2.0GHz
OS: Android 4.4
Memory: 2GB DDR3
Flash: 8GB NAND flash (16 -32GB optional)
Network Wi-Fi: built-in dual-band Wi-Fi 2.4/5.8GHz and built-in 4.0 Bluetooth
DLNA, SAMBA protocols
Firmware upgrade from SD card
GPU: dual-core integrated Mali-450 GPU (3D acceleration engine)
Since this product seems to be End Of Life, i'm willing to try any suggestions even if the possibility is a bricked device. Thanks in advance!

There is an easy update to 5.1 Lollipop for the Zoomtak T8 and T8 plus .. However the T8 will run sub par and the WiFi becomes in-reliable, but the T8+ runs like a dream updated. here's the update link ;

how do you install this update ,i have been trying to do this via a youtube video but it wont go into recovery mode so im thinking i will try this solution ,cheers

Please advise when possible a working link for the T8 V.2 firmware to perhaps breathe some life back into this doorstop, LOL.....

Hi guys,
I recently bought a chinese 7" tablet, it's pretty good, runs ICS but it has a china - made OS with a lot of pre-installed chinese apps, chinese keyboard and stuff that i can't remove.
The tablet has:
CPU: Telechips TCC8923, 1.2GHz, Cortex-A5 Dual Core;

Is there any clean, naked, basic ICS rom over here which i can use on it? Or anything else that doesn't have chinese stuff on it...

Now the problem is I had rooted the tab and someway messed it whole now wifi doesnt work, when i shutdown it takes command and shows shuttingdown but never shuts down have to start again pressing reset pin..
I need a custom rom or anything to fix it and the precedure to fix it as I am full new to android....

No custom roms for it...
Noone uploads for this device but still there an way to get ur phone exactly like KITKAT.
Including android version.
Install Xposed and then Xposed module "Eggster" and this will let you change the default easter egg i.e. jellybean
and then open root explorer and edit build.prop and change your device name , android version everything........
and install Xblast Tools
and GravityBox and full enjoy Kitkat Experience without any problem! :good:
You need drivers first.!
Just google 'enable adb drivers on nvidia based android tablets' and install drivers easily. After you sucessfully root, I want you to help me. Install flashify app and backup your recovery and share it with me , the backup (in a zip file maybe). Thanks.

Hello, so i have a Yuntab Tablet and i wanted a costum rom with latest android (like nougat) but its impossible to find a rom for that bcz isnt a very known brand

It's possible, but because there are so many varieties and different versions it's not useful. Also, it is a slow tablet already so installing Nougat or any other newer Android versions may make it near unusable.
Not saying it's impossible, but not likely

Hi everyone! This is my first post so..first of all I apologize for my grammar, I'm Spanish.
A few days ago I found at home a BQ phablet model Elcano 2 Quadcore. After charging and turning on the device I realized that it currently runs android 4.2.2. I managed to root my device so that I could update it to a more current version of android. The problem comes when I can't find any TWRP recovery or support on Lineage OS.
I have read that you can use the recovery of another device with the same specifications as mine but I have not found anything on the internet either.
Hope you can help me update my phablet. I don't need the latest version of android, by making my device useful I'm satisfied.
I downloaded the Aida64 application to know what processor I have:
