I want to save images which comes from contact auto on memory card instead of internal memory.

without root, no.
with root, you can create a new partition pointing to the sd card. don't know if it still works on nougat.

Desire New MicroSD card

I am using Android phone for first time, It's a HTC Desire (unrooted), I have a 4GB memory card installed in it with lots of apps and stuff on SD card. Now I want to root my device and bought a new 16GB card. I want to transfer all my data from this 4 GB card to new one, and also want to partition it for rooting. what is the easiest way to do transfer all my data / sms / contacts / everything else to my new card. and my contacts are mess, they were saved on phone not syncd with gmail. I saved them as cvs file and uploaded them on gmail but now every contact is double. alot of crap going on in my phone. anyways want to fix all of it and install my new card and root my device with lee droid rom. can anyone help ?
Guys Sorry if this question have been asked before, I tried to search but couldn't find the answer.
First root your device and install titanium backup and backup all your apps and data. After this copy all the contents of your card onto hard drive. ( take special care that you get the folder named TitaniumBackup, it has all your app and data for restoring)
Then partition your card according to your requirements by any of the methods recommended( i used amon ra recovery) and flash your rom and setup your accounts and all. After all this you can just copy back the contents from your old card onto new one and install titanium backup and restore all your apps and data with it.
As for the doubles in your contacts. log into google contacts and it lets you remove 'doubles' pretty easy.
hope this helps.
thanks man, so rooting doesn't remove my apps / data from device ? sorry i m noob in android world.
Edit. Did it .. thanks

[Q] Titanium Backup to Removable sd??

Has anyone been able to get Titanium backup to backup to the removable storage? It wont let me navigate to my ext sd and will only backup to the on device storage! Can copy and paste to ext whenever I want to clean install a rom but kind of a pain!

First create a new folder on your sd card then copy all the backups to your new folder on the sd card.
1. Open Tibu, tab on the 3 stacked little boxes(most top right of the screen),
2. Select "preferences" from the drop down, scroll down to "backup folder location", tab to open,
3. Then tab on "detect" button, then tab on "whole device" button and it will find your new folder location,
4. Then hit the back button to bring you back to previous screen, your new path displayed and you tab on "use the current folder". you done.
If you've never made a backup, then you need to do the following:
In TiBu, Settings --> Preferences --> Backup folder location. Use the back key to navigate to /, then go to /Removable/MicroSD and then you can create a folder in there and use it as your backup location.
Took me a bit of a while to find the location.

You're welcome, and thanks in return for the props. I do what I can
Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a weird issue with Titanium Backup - have the paid version...
I want to set my preferred backup location to be on the micro SD but when I navigate to it Titanium backup says it is not writable and that the folder is empty.
I can write files toitin other apps and it is most definitely not empty, I have the install files for the ROM I'm using stored on it.
The ROM is CROMi-Xenogenesis 4.7.0- 10.16.1.14.8/WW DEODEX
Kernel is 3.1.10-hundsbuah-v3.4.5-oc-gaa752e8-dirty
Any ideas?

FAT32.
It's a 64Gig SANDisk but it also happens on a 4gig and a 1 gig card, both of which are made by Kingston. Oddly enough every other app that writes data can write to these cards. It's only Titanium (paid version too) that seems to think the card is not writeable
Just upgraded to Cromi 5.4, still using Hunds F2FS kernel, but the issue still remains - cannot configure Titanium Backup to write to any Micro SD.
Anyone got any ideas?
ES File Explorer, the simple file explorer and other apps can all write to this card but not Titanium

Files
For me, Trubackup scores higher because it backsup to dropbox rather than my SD, plus it lets me select the files I want to store. It has a 30 Day Trial free on googleplay, give it a whirl. Go to google play & search for turbackup and start using
Restoring problem and root.
So when i was on my galaxy s duos my device was rooted, i made some backups to my sd card, when i upgraded to the galaxy grand duos, i couldnt seem to restore anything from that sd card so then i decided to root it, now im having a problem that when i open the app, first off it doesnt ask for su permission, AND i still cant restore anything back from my sd card to the grand, im regretting using this app so much.. please if someone has a solution to this, share it with me.
I think Android Manager will meet your need. It is a management tool that can transfer files between computer and Android phone. You just need to launch it in you computer, and then connect your phone to computer. It will export files from MAC to Android and import files from Android to MAC. Just have a try! It will solve your problem.
This same app thread is available on XDA since 2013

[Q] How to save apps from GooglePlay? In .apk format?

Is it possible somehow to select some installed applications from google play, and save them to the memory card?
For example, when I am at home, with wify I download and install
"TeslaLED" - Torch Led Flashlight
"OsomAnd" - Topografic Map & gps.
"ES File Explorer File Manager" - File Manager
Then, After the apps are installed, I go in the wild far away in the mountains, in the cottage / refuge. There I have a friend with an android phone but there is no wify or internet acces, so I can take my external memory out and put it into his phone to install the apps and copy the maps, or transfer them over bluetooth.
How can I make this possible?

My phone is not rooted and I don't intend to root him, at least for now.
For some strange reason backup and restore app did not worked, but
I managed to save the installed apps (.apk) from the Phone into the PC with MyPhoneExplorer. Then to the external memory card.
However, you have to be carefull at the install time of myphoneexplorer (the pc part) as it has some adware/pup (install also some reg cleaner if you hit yes).
Problem solved, Thx buttons pressed anyway.

I think The Reason For not working of your app was The cHeckbox Unknown Resources Found in Security Setting.... Have you enabled it?

Workaround for Titanium Backup not accessing External SD on Marshmallow Roms

In Marshmallow, Titanium Backup can't access the External SD Card directly,
Here is a Fix for you guys who want to make the Backup/Restore Folder to be in the External SD Card
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GATqU1_xzqA
It worked! Thank you
Thanks, it worked!
However, one could also just write down the necessary steps instead of creating a 5 minute blown up Youtube video out of it.
Here's how:
1. Change storage folder in TB
2. Select DocumentProviderStorage
3. Open the menu on the right side, check "Show SD card"
4. Open the menu on the left side, select your external SD card
5. Select destination path as usual

Hello,
for me this does not work or only partly..
I cannot restore apps via titanium backup from my external SD, allthough I did the workaround with menu - settings - backup folder location and set it to DocumentProvider storage.
When I do so I can backup my apps and data to external SD but NOT restore, what can I do?
I can only restore data but not the App itself..
Setting SElinux to permissive also does not work
I have a screenshot of the logcat in attachment, maybe someone could help me..
I have the problem on Resurrection Remix 5.6.4, BlissPop, AICP11... on CM12.1 it is working..
Thanks & regards

Hi
The same thing happened to me
Did you find a fix?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Yes, it works now.
You have to do the same steps mentioned above but you have to create a new folder inside the existing titanium backup folder, put all files inside this folder and then it should work.
Like this storage/external sd/titanium backup/titanium backup
There is also a video on YouTube somewhere but I can't find it anymore..
