I have a S6 Edge with battery depleted (won't start), and also won't charge.
The non-charging issue had happened once before, but the battery was not fully depleted. I was able to start it in recovery mode (which I have it installed), and then it could be charged in that mode. Once it charged in that mode for a while, the phone started to work properly.
Is there a way to charge the battery. Problem is that it comes in-built in S6 Edge.

Ok, so over the past couple of weeks I've had more than a few occasions where my battery will drain very rapidly.
It happened again tonight, and I watched the battery % indicator drop from 48 to 15 over the course of about 15-20 mins. Once it hit 15 it then shut down completely, apparently completely drained, as I put it back on charge and it restarted charging from 0%.
I got the 5.1.1 ota update (Stock EE UK rom) last week, but it's been no help.
I've attached a screenshot of the battery usage. On screen time has been about 3 hrs today.
Anyone any ideas? Would it be worth rooting, or is it a dud battery?
Also, using the Nova launcher BTW.
Well. I haven't that problem but got a very similar.one was charging.
My phone had battery dead and the plugged the fast charge when it was off. The charging image displayed the battery in 8% after a few minutes as normal, but when I powered the device the battery indicated that was charge at 56%. I was shocked and immediately thought that battery had a problem. Then I used the device hard to get the battery drained but was normally going down. Then restarted device and the battery indicated 18%, much closer to the real charge.
Anyway, I had this issue on my old SGS3 and then remembered that I had to delete cache from recovery. Once I made it the battery started to work normally.
The fact is that I'm on G920I with the Indian sotck version of 5.1.1 and I never had rooted or flashed my SGS6 afraid of tripping Knox. So I recommend that you. Delete cache from recovery and check battery. If the problem persists definitely your device is bad.
You may have a defective battery. Return your S6 back to Samsung for battery warranty replacement.
I recently realized that something is so wrong with my note edge. It suddenly shuts off by itself at 15 - 20%.
I have an old extra battery and do the same thing at 5%.
I have perform factory reset and charge the phone while turn off, nothing can do.
I bought an extra battery (not really sure if it is original) in ebay but did something weird. It wont charge full, it only charge at only 90% or arround. Even overnight charging and it still can not charge to 100% unless I take off the battery and place it again.
Is it cuased by marshmallow update? or Is it hardware issue?
Hello, i got a s6 recently and the next day i bought it was dead. I thought it was a battery issue, so i changed it, but the battery expanded and it really didnt worked out. The phone just turns on while charging. I tried disconnecting the battery and still shows around 70% while charging. Any help?
The phone in question is a Samsung Galaxy S7 G930F.
Here's the issue: The phone randomly shuts off (at any battery percentage). The only way to reboot it is to put it on a charger.
When you put it on the charger, it acts like the battery was drained completely. The charge begins at 0% and it charges normally.
It can shut off in any instance, in the middle of a task, while on standby, where it's heated up, where it's completely cooled.
Any ideas what might cause this?
Is it a hardware issue (battery or something) or something software related?
Any help or tips are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Usually a bad battery will cause this.
So I've noticed that the phone doesn't charge above approximately 73% when fully turned off. I'm using the standard Google charger for the phone. It also charges normally when the phone is turned on. See screenshot...
My refurbished Pixel also does not show only around 65% charge after being plugged in for the whole night.
But then when I use it, it sort of freezes at a specific battery percentage, so it is on for example 30% for two hours, before it goes further down. See the attached picture.
So at least in my case, the phone is fully charged when turned off and plugged in, but somehow the percentage count of the phone does not recognize it. Maybe it's more or less the same in your case?
I too am having battery issues since updating to the latest October Android 10. I have bootloader unlocked and rooted with latest magisk Canary build.
I can charge to 100% but it then tends to stick at a certain% for a while and then the battery dies at 15-20%. I've tried battery calibration but it doesn't seem to help
I've had a dose of the same lately, had a couple of days where my charge has reached 42% for the entire day? Still charges fine but from a 100% charge I will lose at least 13% - 16% charge in a few hours on idle with nothing showing as draining heavy in battery manager. If I run it down to 18% or less and try and use the camera it will shutdown and if I can get it to reboot it's on 1%. I've come to the conclusion its the battery (could be wrong) purely as it's acting exactly the same way as my nexus 6p did when it's battery started to fail.
