Nougat update greatly improved my battery life. You should definitely update. I'm probably going to root my note 5 soon as well.

I suggest doing a factory reset. Don't forget to backup all your data if you do.

Been getting from 3-5 hours sot depends if I am on data or not though. My battery has been worse overall because of my battery wear.
My battery life improved a little bit but...
Im very happy with my N920T Nougat, but i have been experiencing some battery draining when my device is idle, i dont know what to do, here is some screenshots, in MM the Inactive Device process didnt consume that much. Please Help.

Battery life is great. I also wanted to not have to root my phone but I didn't really have no choice because without root it wouldn't go into deep sleep. But with the update it's sleeping like a baby without root. Great job samsung or google. Lol

Try buying Greenify from PlayStore then use ADB to activate Aggressive Doze (Greenify guides you). Should help.

hello,
yesterday i installed the official 4.4.2 rom from poland on my belgium/luxemburg note 3. i performed a factory reset to be sure.
today my battery was hell. just a half an hour ago my battery drained from 15% to 1% in 15 min with just sitting in my pocket turned off and warm.
i checked my battery stats and my exchange is using a lot of it.
are there other who have the same problem and maybe have a solution?

Hi
1- Install wakelockdetector and see which program has high battery usage ...
2- stop exchange service and disable it

I've got exchange services running, but it doesnt appear in my battery stats. It seems quite high, maybe your email is syncing a lot. Try changing the sync schedule to either manual or push.

Well i don't speak dutch but from what i see your CPU is not "sleeping"... install that wakelock that the other user recommends and you will see exactly who is messing up your cpu

i cannot install wakelock because it says it needs root on kitkat to work.
I never got stats like that. Today my phone acts normal. Now on 70%

Is KitKat 4.4.2 app-cached mechanism not better than that?
I don't and never have and never had any need to

Depends on your usage.
Might work for some, not for others.
Install and try for yourself, do some objective testing before and after to see if it makes any difference for you
Handy to control apps you don't use regularly from running on the background. Actual effect on battery life. Well don't expect miracles.

Greenify is the only one from that endless battery safer tools This really has a positive effect. Clear recommendation, even if I do not understand why you needed for a new thread. Such things do you test yourself

Well, don't discuss the battery It's good enough for many but not for everyone. I'll plan to use a recharge pack if I need more battery power. Most of the times I have a bag or something else with me so that I can put a recharger pack into it for the case I run out of battery.
Sure, a better internal battery is better, but I can live with that.
Greenify is a great tool to have so that you can have a broad selection of apps on your device without worrying about it weighing down the OS in bloat. Lots of apps unnecessarily start in the background or ask to be notified on state changes or when the device is unlocked, which can lead to sluggishness and/or battery life degradation. For example my banking app does this, and I never need my banking app to run unless I explicitly press on that damn icon. But I don't want to get rid of my banking app due to it's bad behavior, because it's truly a useful app. That is where greenify shines.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
I have a few apps that definitely will hurt the battery if left running...so greenify let's me still have those apps and not worry about them impacting my battery. To me greenify is on my must have list. ?
And to backup another's post, yes...the N5 CAN have battery life that rivals other great battery life phones. I get over 24 hours with 6 plus hours screen time easily. But...its all about how you set up your phone...and how you use it. "Average" battery times are hard to compare, since we all are setup different and do different things with our phones.
But yes, battery life CAN be brilliant.... Or it can be average.

Check your wakelocks to see if any apps are keeping your phone awake.

Haven't had a need for battery savers ever. I just monitor what my system is doing and figure out how to mitigate it without another app to run.

Hi i have a nexus 5 rooted on the stock rom and when i install the xposed frame work i have significant idle drain even when i have no moduels enabled. if any one knows what could be causing this please let me know thanks.
What do the battery stats show?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
its the same as when i dont have it enabled. only with alot more battery drain not really much out of the ordianary in the battery stats
Well I would remove the framework and see if it goes back to normal. It might be a coincidence, you could have a bad signal or something. The framework doesn't change my battery life at all
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I dont know really its kinda weird because when i uninstall it,it goes back to normal and as soon as i enable it the intense battery drain starts again

How many times have you tried it? I would download GSam or BBS. These are battery stat apps that can help detect where the drain is coming from.
ive tried it a few times now with same result
Gsam and screen shots. Will be much easier to help you.
What Xposed modules do you use?
I can't see how framework would drain battery on it's own.

I updated my phone yesterday and the log was about system optimization and power consumption, but I noticed that it's consuming more battery now specially in idle state. So anyone else is facing this problem?

Mine was draining the battery because google play services was acting up. Do You use Greenify or any similar app? I use Greenify and found that if I hibernate any Google apk play services goes crazy and I get more battery drain.
