I am having a problem in Huwaei mate 9 /Model: MHA-L29
I was doing hard reset wipe data and then factory reset it seems while doing the wipe its not done completely first it reaches 15% then it jumps to 100% claims thats it complete.
after the factor reset first I had a locked screen with emergency dialer and a space to put password but there is no keyboard and now I have a black screen with the soft keys but other functions like voice screen logo charging is working. Please help me could I download a new software as I don't know my build number so I can't reflash it beside when I choose the software place should it be related to the purchase country or to my residencey ?
The point that I can't do recovery so is it right to download a new software without knowing the build number or the firmware number.
Turn phone off. Hold vol up and power until you see EMUI recovery with 3 options. Clear cache and reset it a few times. Should fix
I did so this is the main cause for the problem while the wipe cache it's jumping from 15% to 100%%
And I tried yet it's not solved..
This happened to me the first time I performed a factory reset. Had to send it back to Huawei.
Parcel service collected the device Monday, received it Friday. Performed a factory reset again afterwards, all went well.
Sent from my MHA-L29 using XDA Labs
Is there any other solution without sending it to the company like if I download a new software.. But I don't know the build number I just know the model which is MHA-L29 purchased from middle east but there is no huwaei company in the country I am living in and this is the main problem..so please my question could I download a new software without knowing the build number or I should do recery beside I tried recovery with both methods and didn't work.. If yes please provide me with a link and steps..
please read the guide subforum. There is claimed all you need. Specifications for your country, firmware lists. The simplest way for middle East is flashing the C636 offline package ( You will find it within the search feature )

Hello everyone,
my Moto G came finally yesterday. I immediately proceeded with factory reset -> upgrade to Kitkat v4.4 and tried to encrypt the device prior to installing the apps and configuring the phone. However, during encryption, i lost power source for a while (20sec). Moto has never finished encryption task and now, i'm not able to boot anymore. After booting the phone, after i enter SIM pin and then decrypt PIN, moto g just displays green android cartoon for a second and then hangs with blank little-backlighted black display. I can go to fastboot menu, however, none of the options (Normal, Factory, Recovery) works, they always lead to the same blank black display....
It looks that it's seriously bricked, anyone knows if there is a chance to fix this? Device has not been unlocked neither modified in any way....
Thanks in advance for any help,
P.
If it's Booting then it's not fully Bricked ...
Most probably the power cut happened during system read/write operation and has corrupted the /System or /Boot Partition, And I guess it can't be fixed easily .
But the good news is that you can take it to Service center and tell them that this happened all of sudden during update (you can skip the power failure part ) , and they will either repair it or most probably give you a new device !!!
So just chill and take your device to service center ASAP !

thanks for your answer. i just wonder if there is any other way how to fix it manually. I'm completely disappointed with this Kitkat encryption process. If the ecnryption would have been caused by the short power outage of phone even the device was fully charged, it's really shameful...
Anyway, I bought it from Amazon in US and it's not being sold yet here in Slovakia so not sure if the international warranty will apply or if they will be able to fix this model here.. Definitely will try to ask at least.
Issue fixed using Motorola great support - Only thing that needed to be done was to perform external reset by following https://motorola-global-en-uk.custh..._id/96459/p/30,6720,9050/kw/reset/action/auth
perfect, issue solved, gonna encrypt again
reset
Interesting bookmarked that link may come in useful some time.
I have sent my S6 in for warranty if anyone would like to know anything about how my experience is with samsung let me know.
Yesterday my S6 froze and started boot loop couldn't access the stock recovery I wasn't able to power down the device so I had to let it die. I was only able to get to download mode knox wasn't tripped. After hours and hours trying to fix the phone I was able to get kies to install the stock firmware to the device after everything was done no errors the phone restarted and no matter what it still didn't boot still couldn't access recovery or power down the device. What I did notice though in download mode Odin said "System Status: Custom" But the Binery is still "Samsung Offical" it had changed after I tried to save the device with kies. I am unsure if "System Status: Custom" will effect my warranty.
if you can get it back into download mode, then look for the knox code and if it changes from 0 to 1 or says 0x10000 instead od 0x0000 or anything changes besides 0 (0x000) your phone has identified that the system was faulted by the flash and therefore your warranty is now void because the knox security system has changed from the original setting. If it says custom most likely it has detected as well that the system was flipped but because you said it still says samsung official they may let it slide. But im not sure what that means i believe is that the phone is an official samsung and that the flash was an official samsung code but it wasnt the original code on the phone. Sometimes a flash on the phone will change the imei so that could mean why the phone is now custom, More than likely though the repair person will have to flash your system anyway and if that doesnt work then your motherboard isnt being read by NAND and you probably need a replacement, i have been up solving mine and calling eveyr technincian store, repair person, and customer service since my phone did what yours did about 3am this morning. Ive got no sleep had about 3break downs and sadly i think it needs to just be professionally checked. My NAND keeps getting a write fail and nothing is passing over to my phone. i can still get into the recovery mode to perform factory resets and cache wipes but it says dm-veridity verification failed and even after multiple factory resets and cache wipes and accidentally hitting the adb button it has led me no where but a continous boot. My phone is only 12days old. Samsung will cover it because i didnt knock my warranty or show evident of any faulting with the OS. The phone had done a update to a new firmware and once that finished i did a factory reset from the phone settings and when i went back to wipe the cache the phone shut down and since then hasnt been able to go past the logo SAMSUNG GALAXY s6 screen powered by android. So as upset and dissastisfied as i am with the phone, i definately appreciate all the youtube videos, forums, repair technicians, and customer service advice i got today. I have definately learned more than i needed to know lol and downloaded about every type of odin available and both firmwares for the lollipop 5.1.1. for samsung galaxy and the original 5.02 the 5.02 got the farthest in download until it shut down because of the written fail and then again because of COM port, but the other one didnt even get past system configuration so i guess something needs to be looked at immediately. If you know anything please do respond back to this message before i send mine off thanks a bunch lovelies:good::good:
my phone is a samgun galaxy s6 with model SM-G290P (sprint), i was originally on android 5.02 i guess but i got the phone activated in stores so when it was given to me from the moment i had it i was on 5.1.1. , i also noticed that my phone goes through odin mode easily but wont connect to the computer i have installed the smart switch, uninstalled after it failed to work with kies, i have installed the mobile drive individually and it picked it up on odin but wont pick it up on smart switch. I do know that if i can locate my s/n number then i can just plug it into smart switch to do the factory flash but i cant locate the s/n number being my phone is turned off. i tried the DEC,HEX AKA IMEI, ICC ID, RS UNDER THE BARCODE, AND none of these codes seem to be a valid s/n number. if someone could assist me with that i would be TREMENDOUSLY GREATFULLLLL!!! ALSO BEFORE i could just click my power button once and the phone would come on now i have to slightly hold it a few second for it to even show the logo.i have also noticed that if i charge my phone the phone loops otherwise if i go to download and cancel and then power on the device manually then it shows the logo once and then shuts off. so hurt you guys!

ALSO WHEN MY PHONE IS OFF I CAN SEE THE BATTERY IS CHARGING RIGHT NOW IT IS AT 82%, sorry for the caps i was typing and reading the phone. On the recovery mode update using ADB is disabled apparently and so is the option to update using external storage the apply update from cache is deprecated too and also when i started having a problem when i hit the power button home button and the volume up it showed the little android man died now it shows he is ok and up right like normal but the dm-verity verification failed still , I AM ABLE TO SEE EVERY LOG IVE RECREATED IN RECOVERY UP UNTILT EH VERY FIRST CACEH WIPE I DID THE DAY AFTER I RECIEVED THE PHONE. IS THERE A WAY I CAN TAKE THE IMAGE OR INFO FROM THIS TO REFLASH THE PHONE MAYBE?!!?!?:highfive:
Have patience. Your S6 willbe fixed soon by Samsung.
i have decided to do a hard reset for my Huawei Mate9, the device is having a lock password and i know it, after making the hard reset the system is starting up normally and asking for the password, i really wonder that i want to enter the password but the keyboard will not show up. i have tried many alternative way but no luck and device is asking me for the password and the keyboard has disappeared.
anyone had the same story?
Yes that happened to me. I then tried to factory reset the device again and it soft bricked (booted to nothing but a black screen) so I had to send it back to Huawei to be reflashed (sent Monday, got it back Friday so can't complain about the turnaround time).
That was before FunkyHuawei existed so you might want to give that a try. Either that or sideload a keyboard if at all possible.

thanks for you reply, but this should not happened, i can make a hard reset for my device when ever i want. Huawei is not like samsung that you can count on.
going now to the service center.....
I ran into this problem when factory resetting via boot menu on pre-release firmware.
I've factory reset the device under B126 via Settings > Advanced Settings > Backup & Reset menu with no issues.
How did you reset it and what fw are you running? Any similarities with my experience?

I bought my phone about 3 months ago (Gionee p5w) and i had no custom roms installed. Yesterday i saw that there is a system update available. I think i rooted my phone using king root(not sure of version). Update on my phone wouldnt install... so i factory reset without clearing the phone memory thats when problem arised, nothing was reset except the text size setting. So i thought of going into factory mode to reset my phone and started phone with vol up and power key pressed . Factory mode didnt show up and now i am stuck in a bootloop. It shows bootloader logo and restarts again and again. I cant even go to normal mode and start my phone. I remember booting into factory mode when i bought it. Please help me fix it

Hello & welcome to xda-assist,
first of, we don't provide technical support here our job is to direct you through the boards here on xda-developers.
When you root your phone system updates will cause serious problems if you don't unroot before and revert all changes on system partition. So bootloop was expected to happen.
Only cure for that would be to reflash your phone's firmware, to find A) the appropriate firmware for your phone model and B) lern how to flash on your phone I would suggest you to visit this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
and
Do a basic Google search on "your phone model + firmware" and "how to flash stock rom on your phone model"
Good luck
New 10 XEU N970F bricked when trying to update. Gets passed the logo to 4 swirling dots and just stays there - tried soft reset, plugging it into PC on Smart Switch, wipe cache and hard reset. same every time.
Samsung are like "you might have bought it New and still security sealed but it's still out of warranty it'll cost you for us to flash it ..."
Read up and got hold of Odin and the latest firmware - same swirly dots.
Tried Factory reset again and yay it started except it's "configured by SAMSUNG Electronics UK enrolled in Knox. So tries to load retail mode and is locked down - no factory reset option (even in Boot Loader) loads of Google apps don't work, Google Play Store not available hell I can't even change the wallpaper or set Biometrics to log on. It is on 12 though...
Suggestions?
Try wiping the NAND and repartition maybe and then try Odin again? Give up and see if I can get a refund?
I'm an Android dabbler, I've rooted and added custom ROMS to older non Samsung devices in the past but only following guides or using scripted tools.
Any help gratefully appreciated

Set Odin to repartition and clear NAND and do all but the userdata and it rebooted to a fresh install enrolled to Knox ..... Arse!
So it turns out using Knox to enrol devices to your organisation is pretty solid - It's linked to the IMEI as far as I can gather and has a hardware flag (I'm assuming from it's behaviour - so I'm stuffed. Tried the support at Samsung again and with some effort and a couple of links to Knox documentation finally got her to understand what I was saying. Couldn't help of course but gave me another dept to try when they open on Monday...
Sent it back for a replacement - with little fuss from the reseller. Replacement won't update...
