Dualshock 4 support - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

So I am having problems getting the PS 4 Dualshock 4 controller to work via Bluetooth. Pairing succeeds without any problems and it even gets recognised as a controller. But none of the commands work. On the other hand if I connect the controler via an USB OTG cable it works flawless.
So my question is, whether anyone has been successful in using the Dualshock 4 controller via Bluetooth?

No sollutions yet?

I got it to work through BT. Had to use the Bluetooth Auto Connect app for it to work properly though because of the major input lag.

@diego429 But how? It doesn't recognise any button presses.

what are you trying to use the ds4 for? what apps are you using?

Mostly I want to play emulators, Snes9x, Mupen64 and Dolphin.
As I said earlier, I can connect the DS4 via BT just fine, it shows that it's connected, but it doesn't register any button presses. All the emulators have controller setup screens where you can assign what each button does. And also here no keypress get registered.

@diego429 can you please tell me if you really got DS4 working on the Mate 9? Rooted?
Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk

@diego429 I'm having the same problem as @MaTiCeK- where the controller is connected via BT and it registers as a controller but not even pressing buttons moves anything onscreen even while not in games. By any chance is your phone rooted or are you using an application to make it work. My phone is the Huawei Honor 7X and I tried it on a Honor 6X aswell and the problem seems to persist on Huawei devices since I tried it on a Samsung and it worked without flawlessly

Bluetooth Gamepad

Has anyone tested a bluetooth gamepad with the Infinity yet, they they would recommend? Maybe the Phonejoy, or...?
I assume I want bluetooth so I can use it without having to have the dock or a USB adapter connected, but I'm not sure if there are any drawbacks to bluetooth over wired/or wireless USB. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

I use the sixaxis tool which requires root but I got my dualshock 3 paired and working in no time.
I hope it works right with the Wii Classic Controller, that's all I have until I get the dock and can plugin an Xbox controller (I wonder if the wireless adapter works?). The Classic controller usually works great on my phone.
Xbox Wireless Controller works with Shadowgun, Riptide, GTA and Death Trigger.
Just plug-in the wireless receiver into the dock, and push the xbox symbol on the controller.
After a while, the blinking changes, and you can use the controller.
Badly, it doesn't stop blinking alike when you connect it to a PC or an Xbox.
I also was able to connect PS3 controllers to the Infinity via sixaxis, the controller also worked with all the games i wrote î.
Unfortunately PS3 gamepad doesnt work via bluetooth. It works with TF300 though. I thought the same method of attaching via USB syncing with it and removing cable would work. I see PS3 controller in bluetooth paired devices in TF300, not in TF700.

PS3 Controller will work with root plus utils
I was able to get a PS3 DualShock controller to work via Bluetooth with my TF700T + dock and root.
I plugged the controller into the USB port and then used PS3 Controller Pairing Tool to set the Bluetooth MAC address and then start up Sixaxis Controller app (requires root) to get the bluetooth link working.

Yes, I know that. I used that config with my old Samsung 10.1, but I don't want to root TF700. With TF300 it works out of the box. Same company, 2 tablets with so similar specs, and what works in a recent model does not in a newer one. Hard to understand.

I have been using the Onlive Universal Wireless Controller. It is a really sold piece of hardware and works with most bluetooth devices. For some tabs though it will be detected incorrectly and leave you spinning around uncontrollably in games by default. However I found this fix on an Onlive forum which has worked perfectly for me. You will need root access in order to perform the fix.
"su
cd /system/usr/keylayout/
mount -o remount,rw /system
cp Vendor_045e_Product_028e.kl Vendor_2378_Product_100a.kl
exit
exit"
Enjoy!
Received a PhoneJoy today. Haven't played much yet, but pretty much unusable with Bluez.
Bought and installed USB/BT Joystick Center which makes wonders.
Currently I have a setup for shadowgun and fantasy drive.
I would LOVE to know if there is any site/forum that has user exports to download, so I could import it in the Joystick Center app for my phonejoy and specific game?
There is some work to be done initially as it seems, but had 0 problems after setting things up.
Currently I have some 20 games, not all are playable with gamepad, but still around 10-15 games for which i will have to find imports or i'll have to go through a hassle myself.
If anyone else has PhoneJoy maybe we can start Export/Import sharing here on this forum (new thread)
Anyone?
I've been through a bunch of controllers, and I really prefer the PS3 controller over the phone joy, onlive, etc. I was turned off in the beginning due to people continuously mentioning the sixaxis app, but after getting it set up, it really works well and it just adds one step before gaming.
I'll make it simple.
First Time Setup
===============================================================
1. You get the application from Play.
2. Run it.
3. Hit the start button in the app.
4. Connect controller via USB cable. (you need it anyway to charge the controller)
5. Hit Pair then hit OK button
6. Unplug the controller
7. Hit the PS3 Button on the controller
8. Wait ~10 seconds.
9. Paired and Done! Now you can game.
Each Time You Want to Game
================================================================
1. Start Sixaxis App
2. Press Start in App
3. Press PS3 button on Controller
4. Wait ~10 seconds.
5. Game!
The above "each time you want to game" takes 15 seconds of your life to use a quality controller, so its REALLY not a big deal.
Just, don't buy PS3 controllers from ebay =) You have been warned!
I'm using ps3 controller over Bluetooth with six axis tool. Go to there official site for instructions.

No need to use the PC tool, I paired it successfully just plugging the DualShock 3 into the dock. The app then found the MAC address and I could pair it.

Are we requiring root for the above processes to work with Sixaxis? I really don't want to root my Infinity, because I don't see the need to. But I also want a controller that will work well. I wonder when Ouya releases there system, if there controller will work universally across android devices.
I didn't want to get an Ouya system though, because of there refusal to leave the standard android market on it, and refusal to support existing games. All games have to be purchased through there own app market.
Has anyone connected 2 controllers at once? One via BT and the other usb?

I just pre-ordered the Nyko Playpad Pro from Gamestop,
FYI: As per Nyko, Gamestop will be the exclusive distributor for the Playpad Pro until February 2013.
Amazon has preorders on the Playpad and Playpad Pro but the Pro is not available until February 2013 as stated by Nyko. Bummer, I would have preferred to order almost anywhere other than Gamestop since their return policy stinks compared to most others. But I did not want to wait until February either....
Anyone else going for the Playpad or Playpad Pro?

does the xbox wired controller work? having issues

Hi, got my OTG cable today and tried plugging in my wired xbox controller. The lights flash on it but its not recognising any button presses. Anyone know if it works?

[Q] How to use Sixaxis controller on Tab 2 7.0?

I have paired the controller to my Tab and when I use the compatibility checker it shows all the buttons I press on the controller which means I should be able to use it with the actual Sixaxis Controller app. The problem is that when I press start on the Sixaxis Controller app, it tries to start the first driver then I get an error, when it tries to start the second driver, it also gets an error then it won't start anymore even when I press start. I know it works on my device because I have seen videos of it.
I solved it! Used the latest version and it worked! Now i got another question, if I have used the controller on the tab and I use it on the PS3, will I need to pair it again with the tab using a computer?

If you keep jumping from your tab to ps3 to computer you will have to pair it again each time because the Bluetooth Mac address needs to be changed to match that of the device your wanting to use it with.

Using DS4 wirelessly with Android

Hi all,
Not sure whether everyone knows this yet or not, but in one of the recent PS4 firmware updates it added a pairing function to the DS4 controller so it could be wirelessly paired with a Playstation 3 as well.. Turns it out also works with Android too (I've tested with my N7 2013 and N5, both running PAC rom 4.4.4) and it works straight away WITHOUT the need of a third-party app
- When the DS4 is off, press and hold the Share button and the PS Button and it enters pairing mode
- Search for bluetooth devices with your phone/tablet and it should come up straight away as Wireless Controller
Just thought i'd post this incase anyone didn't know about it and wanted to try it out on their device too and see if it works :good:

I'm trying to pair my DS4 and rooted (but otherwise stock) N5 but it doesn't seem to work. I put the DS4 in discoverable mode (Share + PS buttons) and"Wireless Controller" shows up in the list of available devices, but when I try to pair them it just sits there "Pairing..." forever. It's been at it for almost 10 minutes now and nothing's happening. I tried restarting the phone and waiting like 20 minutes for the controller to restart but I've run out of ideas. Any suggestions?

I'm having exactly the same problem @Farlo1.
I did read somewhere that the early DS4s don't work using this method.
But those released after a certain date do.
I've got 2 DS4s but they're both from launch, so neither of them is working with this. The only way I've seen to use the DS4 is to invest in a cable, which I don't really want to do...
Let me know if you spot anything different!
Hey, I had my DS4 working flawlessly in my z3 compact, but since I have a GS5, the mapping is all screwy. I tried installing sixaxis and it just added a massive 1+ second lag, with only part of the button press registering, and then it goes all crazy and scrolls everywhere. This gets even worse in PPSSPP, where as soon as I touch the analogue stick it goes haywire... but it was flawless with my z3!
Anyone know anything about this?
doesn't work for playing
I connected everything and started ninjumb dash(game) but the controller(ps4)didn't turn the colour blue and it is not working
pls tell me what to do next

if u have ps4 ,remove socket of your ps4(otherwise when u press ps4 button it will turn on and automatically connect your controller)
and then press(ps4+share) to turn on Bluetooth(ds4)and search in Bluetooth and connect(wireless controller.
same problem

Hi my DS4 connect to my phone normally but it works little bit slow and I don't know why ?
I know this is a really old post. Never mind. I am able to connect DS4 to my Android phone (using share and PS button), and play games (such as Final Fantasy from the play store), however the buttons are not configured correctly (X is cancel, O is confirm!). Is there any app that will remap the buttons. I have used Sixaxis for the PS3 controller, but would prefer to use the DS4. However each time you switch to Android gaming and PS4 gaming you need to reconnect the controller to each device with OTG cable which is a pain . I have tried Tincore app, but cannot get it to work as don't know how it works!

I was surprised at how easy this was, but yes seems to have some input lag,
I found this on reddit
"Now after about 30sec, and for some unknown reason, you will run into input lag. To fix this you will need to download an app called Bluetooth Auto Connect. Once installed goto Advanced Options - Connect Now. Once you push Connect Now the input lag should be gone."
I haven't had a chance to try this yet but seems promising
Ds4 controller syncs fine to my LG Aristo but it doesn't actually control ****, any game that uses a controller does not see the Ds4. I can use my ds3 with the sixaxis app but I can't do a thing with this Ds4.

Problem between a Wireless keyboard and Tronsmart MK908II touch response

Hello,
The device is Tronsmart MK908II, wireless keyboard is this: http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6271301163.html
The problem is that there is a lag between the keyboard commands and the response of the device. For example as you wiggle your finger on the touchpad on the keyboard, cursor on the TV screen does not reflect correctly and on time, and the same with keystrokes. Especially if the distance between me and the TV stick is more than one meter is almost impossible to perceive commands.
At first I thought it was the keyboard, but after I connected it to the computer, I saw that it works absolutely perfectly, even from a distance of 5-6 meters, there is no delay when you press buttons. Unfortunately, not so with the tv stic... Pls tell me what to do ??? The device has the last Android 4.2.2 version, there is no newest at the moment. Does it need to install a program to respond better wireless keyboards? The keyboard come without software, just plug and play.
Help pls!
Keyboards are a drama! I use droidmote to control my sticks via tablet or phone. The stick needs to be rooted and you install a serverapp on it which you connect to via Wi-Fi from your client app on your other devices. Once working I ditch my keyboard.

I fixed the problem! I use a different port on the device, which is micro USB. Use transitions and include in it the keypad transmitter. Apparently the standard USB does not have enough power to supply it correctly.
Nice catch! Thanks for the update
