Post up your screen shots and show us how good or bad your battery life is. Tell us whether you have the snap dragon or exynos version, what carrier you're on, what tweaks you may have done, whether you have the S8 or S8+.
I have the Snap Dragon S8+ with T-Mobile.
I have auto brightness on, with optimized performance mode on. I have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS enabled, always on display is also on. I have not shut any apps off except lookout security. I have adguard also. If I can answer anymore questions, let me know.
Best battery life I've ever had on a phone.

Will be nice if people post their settings too especially those with crazy good bat life
I'll post mine at end of day. Going all in, running Twitter and also normal multitasking and playing music in the background.
Not real impressed with mine yet, I know it'll get better but I've only gotten 1hr screen on time so far.
Display set to 1080p, 50% brightness, smart mode, and very little use other then streaming music.
But my lg v20 lasted that long doing the same everyday. Not sure why android eats ups battery streaming music, my iPhone 7 plus can stream music for 8 hrs and still have between 85-90% battery. Hopefully android will make it better.
Like the phone so far though. It's a lot smoother than my s7 edge was.

Holy cow. Is that the Plus or regular? Though guessing it doesn't matter much since they should be pretty close.

Cool. I'm getting the regular. Should be somewhat close to that I'm thinking. Whats exciting is that your battery life is out of the box. The software must be much more optimized and the processor efficient.

And this is with all kinds of wonkiness going on
Playing music almost constantly since 830, maps, bluetooth, and browsing. 60% brightneess and WQHD+
Here are mine. Still about 24% left. About 30mns call, 2hrs google play music and some facebook, youtube etc
Here's an update on mine after getting home and not steaming music. I'd say if you don't stream music they battery is awesome. I'm happy with battery. Just wish they would optimise music streaming with screen off like apple. But not complaining, I'm happy.

I have an S8. I'm quite impressed. WQHD+, 50% brightness
You guys are happy with your New toy thats why screen sips most of the Juice however whats interesting is testing idling on 4g/3g and see how much Android os is taking
Galaxy S8, 5hrs 36mins, blown away by it considering I was only getting 3.5hrs on the S7, disabled some bloatware through package disabler and on about 30% brightness
4 hours playing super Mario sunshine with a ps4 controller got me about 4 hours 60%
720p 50% brightness.
Figured the iPhone 7 is 720p why not save battery

I'm having a great overall experience with the Inspire 4G w/ CM7. Just wanted to show you guys some screenshots of the battery life I'm getting so far. These shots I took after a day of heavy usage, including a few hours of net browsing, texting, and e-mails.

Hey try using juice defender or current widget to exceed your current battery life. Both control which apps that are eating up your battery. Kills the non needed ones.
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
i've seen all the complaints about battery life but i must say mine is more than adequate. maybe because for the first 4 days i had the phone, after charging it for 10+hrs, i ran the battery all the way to 0 (til it shutdown), recharged to full, then drained it again.
it was my old habit from my nokia days.
Yeah, to be honest, this is equal to or better than the battery life I was getting with my Captivate. I can tell you with an absolute certainty that the battery did have to "break in" for a short period, after installing CM7.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Its deff better than captivate, 99% due to the screen. I got over 5 hours screen on time in a 16 hour period the other day with my rom/kernel combo with screen brightness at about 40-50%. That's pretty damn good, way better than the captivate could ever get
On my LG Ally i was lucky to get 6-8 hours with just light use. With the Inspire on cm7 i have gotten around 20ish hours with moderate to high use.
I'm still shocked that i am able to get that much battery life. lol
I'm still breaking my Captivate records. I took my phone off the charger @ 7:00am on Wednesday the 20th. I'm now at 15%.
What roms are you guys running. Im on coredroid 5.4. I get about 20 h with moderate use. I consider it to be pretty good. But no way can I get over like 30 h. I don't like to use juice defender or setcpu. Don't feel like I should use apps that override android os. Especially GB is so will optimized and efficient.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
I'm on CM7 and only wish I could get the battery you guys are talking about. I just went from 93% to 90% in a matter of minutes doing nothing on the phone. It was sitting on my desk!

Not at all. It's my personal and work cell, so I talk, text, surf, and play games what I would consider a moderate amount. I don't use a large overclock. I use the smart ass governor on Leedroid's most recent rom, and my screen brightness at 1/3.
There are days that I can put it tonthe test, but my first charge got me 35 hours with 5 hours awake time.
That's it? I got this a while ago and that's before I did some optimizations... I'm going to see what it can pull this weekend before it hits the 15% warning.
Apparently I can't add images until I get some more posts.

Well, I usually get between 24-36 hours on the GS3 with Screen Usage of 3-4 hours:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32545185&postcount=162
Better than what I got on the Thunderbolt or Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but the RAZR HD & MAXX HD still win in batter life.
one day
Got 24 hours out of mine with 2 hours of phone call, half hour of google hangout, pandora streaming, and playing with the OTG fuction manged to get sevral things on a usb splitter and even power up an old flip phone with out its battery. But today will be my real test with lots of gaming and web surfing.
I have only been getting 8 to 14 hours on my phone. I have media server draining more battery than anything else on the phone.
I cannot get over this damn battery, I check the usage every 3 hours just to awe myself. Coming from the S2, I could leave the screen off all day and maybe get 12 hours, my maxx hd is going on 17hrs right now and not even half way dead yet, I LOVE IT!

have nothing to complain about with this phone. I've been nothing but impressed

Razr HD. I'm at 50% battery after 10+ hours. 2 hours of screen on time. About an hour of GPS use. An hour of music over bluetooth headset. Moderate web use and some MIDI over WIFI stuff in the music studio. Once I get my car dock, I doubt I'll be wanting for power much at all...
It looks to me like its pretty good on battery. I only tested the usage time and not the standby time.
I had my phone on for 8 1/2 hours and my location was on the whole time with high accuracy enabled. I had Bluetooth on the whole time. Screen was set to auto.
Screen on time: 5:40
calls: 2:20
Waze: around an hour
and all the rest like emails, whatsapp, facebook, text, etc...
Did anyone see how the standby time affects the battery?
Nice

2hrs screen on time right now, lots of Android System use for some reason.
I've done Bluetooth streaming to my car stereo, listened to music, podcasts, and played a bunch of Angry Birds 2 today, as well as browsing the Web and Facebook. Pretty active day and the battery has held up fairly well. Hopefully it's comparable to my Xperia Z3.
This is more in line with what iI seeing. Last night I went threw and turned software my radio disabled all the unnecessary apps and force closed almost everything... Then unplugged it when it was full 2 hours later iI had lost 10 percent. The only radio that WA son was the wifi but I was connected to wifi.

Wow that's great, did you have wifi, gps, auto brightness?
I've notice that the battery would drain fast 100-89 in a 10-15 kin span then when plug in it would charge up to 100 and it would drain normally.
My first charge cycle...
Screen brightness at 90%.
50% data 50% WiFi.
Bluetooth music and S Gear.
Continuous testing, setting up and general messing around.
Acouple 5 min 4k videos.
Internet surfing.
I did have a 10%spike when I was transferring some files.! So I took this screen with 9% remaining.
Quite impressive to me considering I was getting about 9 hrs with 3hrs Screen time from Note 4 edge with the same battery.
This phone is a major upgrade to the note Edge!!!
Some nice results... I've never been one to Greenify, or freeze many apps. If I decide to get the N5, I'll have to change some habits I suppose. Still on the damn fence about this phone. Maybe I'll go see it at best buy, see how it feels in hand.

Agreed...im getting more than double sot and stdby time then i do with my edge. N5
Is at least twice as fast and buttery as hell compared to the edge.
This phone feels beautiful in your hand. Still trying to get use to the battery and a little smaller screen had all the notes then went to the nexus 6 for a while. This one is by far the best build of any of them.
My battery life is horrible comparatively. What are you guys doing to get 5+ hours so? I haven't even hit 4 hours yet...
Can you guys tell me how your battery life is on this beast of a phone
First cycle everything on and screen brightness 100% I got 2hr screen on time
2nd cycle brightness at 60% I manage to get 3hr SOT
So total first /second cycle how long did ur phone go before it went dead

part of me wonders if LG knew this so that's why they are offering an extra battery promotion.
First cycle. I have been having mixed usage. Auto brightness LTE only. I'm at 5 hrs 25 SOT. I'm pretty happy with battery life. Phone is great so far. Way better than my old G4.
Once I get my second battery it will be more than adequate for my needs. I travel a lot for work so I'll report back how the phone does while in the air.

Day 4
This is day 4 with my g5. Everything is running fine except for my battery life. Here's some screen shots of what mine is doing. As you see I don't have a lot of time with total battery usage before I have to charge it again. Screen is the top usage but my battery life is poor. I don't know how to fix it. I could disable a ton of services but then what would be the use of me having this phone if I have to cripple it? It's sad.

So I'm not the only one with really high "phone idle". Haven't been able to track that one down. I even disabled the Always-On screen just in case it was related.
I also get significant (like half the battery in 7hrs) drain from Google Maps. I left my phone unplugged over night and it ate through the battery at some point. Second time it's popped up.
Hi all,
I am curious if anyone else has been using wallpapers. I have and I am trying to figure out if I am generally draining the battery a bit faster through my own behavior or if the constant and very sensitive movement on the wallpapers are causing too many CPU/GPU cycles.
I need to try and figure it out. The battery usage will never show "google Wallpapers". It is showing Screen and Android system as high usage but they are always at the top. It's very hard to find and measure. I like live wallpapers but not if its robbing me for 35% of my battery from 6AM - Noon. I remember getting to around 4PM with 60~% remaining.
Anyone?
Just testing Google Wallpapers with Live Wallpapers addon. Will see how much it drains the battery..

No drain for me using the live wallpaper themes. I get from around 7-9 hours screen on time regardless. Depending what apps I use will depend my battery drain as expected but I never see bellow 7 hours . I think the phone is pretty optimized for live wallpapers or should I say the phone is fully optimized to get good battery life due to its energy efficiant cpu.
The about of times I've heard all phone manufactures say there new flagship is 20% blah blah better than previous generation and Its never ever worked that way in my opinion but with the s8+ I'm shocked coming from a s7 edge with a bigger battery and smaller screen.
I do think a dark wallpaper will help further on battery of your trying to maximise your battery usage
