Hi Everyone,
I'm experiencing serious signal drops with the HTC One X LTE. It used to happen once a week, but now it happens like every 30mins, which is drivint me nuts. Can someone let me know if it is a hardware issue or a software issue.
I'm currently using the CleanRom 4.1. I flashed the phone right away, so I'm unsure how the phone is like on stock rom. I'm curently with Rogers Canada.
Force your phone to use only 3g . I have had this issue... Click on my profile and read my previous post.

I'm already only using 3G. I turned off LTE because it was draining my battery like mad. With only 3G i'm still getting terrible signal drops
Its happening to me too. On stock and on Cleanrom. Starting to piss me off. Even going into airplane mode sometimes freezes
Mine was dropping a fair bit on stock 1.77 and moreso on AOKP and CM9 based ROMS.
I found updating to Telstra 1.89 firmwares has fixed nearly all my connection issues on 3g/lte and wifi.
Try going into recovery, and clearing cache & Dalvik, then reboot.
Simple fix (and certainly won't hurt), and might not fix your issue. But its cleared up signal drops the few times I've had them.
I really think it's more network related. I saw a lot if this on 3G before getting the HOX. Seems to have cleared up in my area.

Get your carrier to give you another SIM. Fixed my issues and cost me nothing. Cause the iPhone micro Sims are too thin and don't sit right in your slot. The new still cards are thicker

I actually had this issue on cleanrom 4.1 only so I flashed back to cleanrom 3.1 and I haven't had a single drop since. Lemme know if this helps.

Just wondering if any one else gets this, sometimes my signal just drops out and I get no service.
Then it comes back it does not happen all the time, I live in a big city Leeds infact so signal is quite strong.
Just wondering if it could be a fault with the phone?
Thanks
I've noticed it happens to me too.

I was wondering if its my device because I live in the city and the signal is excellent around here, my other phone HTC sensation never had this problem. Was concerned it could be software/hardware problem possibly.

It's likely the radio software.

It is definitely possible.
I'm on AT&T and have the correct APN settings and have called AT&T with my IMEI. I have significantly worse signal than with my HTC One X. I am not comparing bars to bars, but rather where the signal drops completely. In places where I had low signal but still connected I now have nothing.
Straight talk using at&t Sim and notice radio drops..

T-Mobile on stock ROM i had my first signal drops.
I was fine (or at least never noticed them) from the time i got my phone (day one) without any drops here in orlando.
Drove over to Tampa/Venice Beach area this past weekend and noticed some drops. Had about 6 drops according to my battery stats in 2 days. i had good to excellent coverage the entire time except when it would drop comlpetely (outline of signal bars)
would connect in a couple seconds, but i noticed over night, it would drop for a pretty large amount of time (like 10-15 minutes at a time.)
Mmm defo seems like were all having the same issues, wonder what it could be

I had this issue too, and here's how I fixed it:
By default LTE is enabled, meaning the phone will periodically scan for a LTE network. If you're in a big city, you're likely to find one. Your phone will attempt to connect. However, it fails, meaning it will have to rescan the HSPA bands to connect back. That results in a few seconds of no service. Why can't it connect to LTE? Because by default, the APN is not the LTE APN, for Rogers at least. I'd assume AT&T would be the same. You can test this by dialing *#*#4636#*#*, selecting phone info, and selecting LTE only. You'll see that there is no service. I tested this in an area I knew had great LTE coverage, and that led me to the conclusion that it's LTE causing the signal drops.
So how to fix? Simple, just change your APN to the LTE APN for your carried. To do that go to Settings -> More -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names. If you're experiencing this issue on Rogers, change the APN field to ltemobile.apn. If you're on another carrier, you'll have to search for their LTE APN configuration.
After doing this your phone should start connecting to LTE again, and you won't get those annoying signal drops.

A few days ago I let you know that we'd be reaching out on email to some of you for some additional bug report data. I'd like to thank everyone who responded to our email -- the bug data you sent in has been helpful to us in tracking this down.
This is looking like a software issue on our side, and we're investigating a fix.

So yeah the next update will probably fix the issue. It's not so bad in the meantime, Lightflow sill notify you that your nexus has lost signal, and you still get the internet and incoming calls.
We're not alone. Supposedly Google is "aware" of the issue.
i've hcanged my setting from '4g' to '3g' to see if i notice a difference (hopefully will) then when 4g is released or i get a 4g sim, can move it back up
Yes, I'm having issues too. The real problem is the fact that I have a Wilson cell booster in my home (supposed to have up to 5000 square foot range) and my n4 had full bars most everywhere inside. With my n5 It shows 1 to 2 bars if I'm lucky and quite often drops to none! The only way to get full bars Is to stand right under the indoor antenna. Not impressed, and I sure hope this is fixable!

I hate to revive a dead thread, but I was wondering if people were still having problems. Once or twice during the day that I can see I will lose signal for a few seconds only to have it reconnect. Running 4.4.2 so the latest update did nothing to help the problem as far as I can see and I have messed with my APN settings. On AT&T. The Google thread seems to have a lot of different problems on the same thread, and it is a bit unclear if people are still having this problem. This is very annoying for such an otherwise spectacular phone. Thanks and sorry again for reviving the thread... :fingers-crossed:

Actually, there have been several threads on the issues associated with this (emergency calls only, missed calls, no signal,etc.). Ongoing and unresolved for some.

Appreciate the speedy reply. Hope Google gets on this fast. I also have LTE connection issues which has plagued both this and my original device so I am pretty sure its a radio issue. The phone loves to stay on HSPA+ even when there is a decent LTE connection: it's last in the pack to connect to LTE and first to disconnect when compared to others on AT&T.

My N4 with a combo radio sticks to LTE a tad better than my N5 with stock radio. Sadly, morrislee hasn't fiddled and combo'd N5 radios, and I'm not sure they've been tested and sussed out like the N4 radios. Citing the fact some with issues have flashed all the radios so far with minimal success means we wait for Qualcomm, after Google kicks them in the you know where.

I'm sitting at home nice good HSPA+ Signal then all of a sudden it just drops the EDGE
my other phone (iPhone is still on HSPA+ no issues) great so I toggle airplane mode on and off boom still edge, so I reboot and boom STILL EDGE
After a while it reconnect to HSPA+ or until it picks up LTE
Does this happen to you? It seems the radio got even crappier with 4.4.2
Im fully stock 100% I have 2 Nexus 5 units in hand one is from T-Mobile one is from play store both experience the same problem
Does anyone know if this is software or hardware Antenna or qFE1100 and does this happen to you?

Never had this issue. Tried reflashing the old radio back?
This should be in q&a by the way

no issues here as well.
Both nexus 4 and 5 suffer from signal drops.
LG and Samsung made devices in general have weaker antennas than Motorola/Apple for example.

Yes but it seems new or not they all have the issue I tested 5 of my friends with nexus 5's all of them report exact same issue
I also managed to catch my 2 units on video
Where i live i even have H+ indoors, couldn`t get that with a samsung or htc. So nothing wrong with the radio for me.

Why would i flash back to 4.4. The Point is google ffffed up somewhere and I hope this gains momentum as right now Google does not see it as an issue and is blaming it on the carrier.
I think I'm having the same issue, my data has been bad(between .5mbps-1mbps) since I got this phone. First I thought it was the APN settings, then I thought maybe the towers, right now I'm thinking I might be throttled by at&t. I call them one person says yes, call again another person says no, wtf!
I came from a galaxy s 3 with no build problems, just slow updates. Damn I guess there's no winning with Android.

Not the point at all. Either you want a solution or you want to blame. This isn't an issue for the 3 N5's I administer so it sounds like a localised problem.

Take your Nexus 5's to an area where you don't get HSPA+ for example your basement then take it out and bring it to an area with HSPA+
Let it sit and see if it will switch to HSPA+ if not toggle airplane mode on then off then see if it will switch.
Since I flashed the OTA for Oneplus One that gave my CyanogenOS12 I'm having problem with my signal and data connectivity.
When I lose the signal, it's like impossible for the phone to get the signal back, and I often have to reboot the phone to get back to a signal. Yesterday even that didn't work.
Something like that has happened to me before, with a reboot needed, but now it's much more often.
Are there someone else that having the same problem like I do?

Turns out a lot of people having this issue with the LTE. Turing LTE off and it will work better. It's just like when the phone drops the LTE signal the first time, it has huge problems getting back to a signal at all.

Hello,
is anyone facing the same problem, that the 4G Signal is often very weak and unstable. For me if the signal isnt the best, it switches to edge or hsdpa+.
With my old phone i have got always 4g at the same location... Any ideas? I have already tried a factory reset and changing the sim card slots.

I don't have that issue but I would say that's usual. All phones have different signal strength. It could be that your previous phone had better than op7. And its hardware related. Sometimes you can Improve it a lil bit with another firmware. But in most case there is nothing you can do.
I'm not getting good LTE reception either. I'm in Canada on Bell Mobility. I have the Chinese GM1900 model OP7 running the latest OxygenOS.
I keep switching between the OP7 and Pixel 2XL and I notice that even though the GM1900 supports all my carriers bands, the OP7 tends to choose different LTE bands than my Pixel 2XL does. Also, I noticed that the LTE Discovery app shows a weaker signal on the OP7.
I'm not sure what the issue is, and I am thinking a refund/exchange will be a hassle but I might give it a shot if I have to. I have only had the device since last Saturday so I am still hoping that there is a tweak or even another ROM I can choose to help this.

Already tried to change the network type. No change.
Also it should work out of the box. Maybe the next system updates will fix this.
I have the same issue and I've replaced the phone already and it hasn't made a difference.
My partner's on the exact same network and gets 4g where I get H+?! In the exact same place on an iPhone 6s. Go figure.
I think a firmware update/fix is needed.
Anyone submitted it as a bug?

Finally someone with the same problem. This is exactly my problem. H+ where others get a stable good 4g connection at the same place. Where can we submit this bug?
Edit: I have opened a thread at OnePlus. Maybe all with the same problem can comment this so OnePlus actually cares about it?
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/unstable-4g-connection.1069237/
The Op7 has not been released for my market, is it still ok to submit a bug report there?
Anyone with the same problem?
Can confirm this has been an issue on my 3rd 7 pro, haven't tried on the first 2 before RMA'ing them unfortunately. I want the 7 because I couldn't stand the curves and the weight of the pro in the end so i'm gonna return the one I got now as well....but if this is a widespread hardware issue with both it kinda sucks for me, on most days I use 4g for at least 2 hours.
I think everyone needs to include their views on the issue posted at OnePlus so that they can see how widespread this issue really is.
Sent from my GM1903 using Tapatalk
I'm also gonna return the phone and buy another one if this won't be fixed. It really sucks because with my old(er) Phone(s) I have got better signal strength than with the new op7. This is a nogo for me...

hey, It seems to me you have a problem with the 4g band itself did you try to change it to Europe or Us from hidden settings,
If you haven't tried that may I suggest to do so by searching on google play for an app called android hidden settings, by 0alex..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kasitskyi.hiddensettings&hl=en_US
and change the band between europe and us and toggle as well between 4g and other modes just to make sure it was changed.
I hope that helps,
