Flashed a different version of "update_data_full_hw_usa.zip". How do I reflash it? - Honor 8 Questions & Answers

Flashed a different version of "update_data_full_hw_usa.zip". How do I reflash it?
I just rooted my FRD-L14 successfully. Everything is working except the Smart Key setting is missing. I think it might be because I flashed the FRD-L04 version of "update_data_full_hw_usa.zip" instead of L14 version. Can I just reflash the L-14 version? Do I need to wipe or something?

There is no L14 version. At least when I looked for it, I couldn't find it.
You have to roll back to MM, find the L04 rollback package, flash that via the flood method.
Then download a full (3.0+ gb) version of MM, there is only one that I've found, they have released no full Nougat version..
Then flash that via dload, it will be full version with everything included.
Then update to Nougat again, root, and delete the trash.

I found this Android N firmware for FRD-L14 here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/frd-l14-android-n-firmware-t3545764
The top reply gave 2 links. Update.zip = actual update/Android package and Update_data_full_usa.zip = Region update package
Can you verify this? Thank you

Accidentally deleted /data when flashing custom ROM

After doing a factory reset with TWRP (including /data), I flashed the custom ROM, as it got stucked in a bootloop, I tried to install stock firmware. I tried so using the dload method on external SD and internal storage as well. But both get to 5% and fail. I restored my backup but without /data because TWRP did not allowed me to back it up. Now it's running but without many apps. I would like to go back to stock. Any ideas?
My version is MHA-L29C636B158
For the mate 9 there actually are 2 Offline Firmwares available. a Chinese for the MHA-L00 and the other one is the international version, C636. Offline says they don't need the verification which for you fails at 5 percent. They will go through for sure using the dload method. Just ask Google for " Mate 9 offline firmware C636"
another solution for your problem is to download the specas data for your specific firmware using Firmware Finder ( Google play ) and flash it via TWRP.
Once done your phone should run regular.
You will get an error within TWRP but you may ignore it, the flash process will success, even it it shows something else.
Last step Wipe cache and dalvik cache, then reboot

Thanks! I tried downloading public/update_data_full_public.zip from Firmware Finder, i flashed it with TWRP but everything looks the same. So now I´m downloading this ffirmware https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9GG_Oe0gQDyUWlCS3lTRm5IOUE/view , that i found on this https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-rebrand-chinese-al00-mate9-to-t3554656 thread, so i will try updating it with that. Should I flash hw_data for c636b136 (my actual version is c636b158),after flashing the previus step, as said on that thread?
for the international c636 you need the update_full_hw_spcseas.zip and the update_vendor.app

Use this instead https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-9/how-to/guide-mate-9-flash-update-package-t3593108
It will let you update to the latest C636 build.
You'll have to unlock bootloader again after it's finished, and reflash twrp.
Though if you just want to use AurRom the one you downloaded will be enough.
And yes you will need too flash B136 hw and Public.

Great, so i should download the update_full_hw_spcseas.zip for C636B158 from FF, and the update_vendor.app from the offlline C636 firmware. But i don´t quite understand the steps.
should i do like this?:
1- Flash offline C636, using dloader´s method .
2-Flashing TWRP
3-Flash update_full_hw_spcseas.zip from C636B158.
4-Done?
Sorry for so many questions but never had a Huawei before, and this is more complex than I expected.
Thanks all, the flashing via dloader´s method succeded, but now i have the b110 its not a problem.
you may update it through systemupdate if your system is untouched.
Any huawei apps now working?

Official Nougat firmware for Honor 8 (FRD-L04; USA)

Hi,
Does anybody know when the official Nougat firmware will be available for the Honor 8 US Model (FRD-L04)?
I received the Nougat update via OTA back in February but downgraded to Marshmallow due to battery drain issues. I haven't received the update via OTA again, so I'm looking for official Nougat firmware to try it manually.

I had the same problem just wipe cache in recovery and wipe data of the system update app.
Sent from my Honor 8 using XDA Labs
It is available, I have the B385 OTA update on my FRD-L04. Maybe check on your PC with HiSuite if the update can't be found from your device.

You can try Firmware finder to have the latest firmware.
Sent from my Honor 8 using XDA Labs
I received OTA Update of B385 on my L04 couple of months back in Karachi, Pakistan
I have downgraded multiple times to Marshmallow and have always reviewed the OTA update.
Incase you're not recieving it, unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP. Then use Firmware Finder to download the firmware shown in the screenshot below. Flash all the downloaded files using TWRP. You will be updated to nougat without wiping anything.
(In future, remember that all firmwares that end with PV can be flashed using TWRP)
Thanks for the suggestion on using FirmwareFinder.
I tried different packages from FirmwareFinder but the installation stops at around 5-6% and throws an error saying it's not compatible, even though I seem to have selected a FRD-L04 compatible Nougat package. So I gave up on that.
I'm a bit surprised to read comments that OTA update has been pushed even after downgrading to MarshMallow several times. I downgraded sometime around March and haven't received OTA update not even once (in the US).

Are you using Firmware Finder proxy / DNS method to install update or simply using dload?

Ah dload won't work to install the Nougat update.
As I said, unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP recovery. Then install those zip files from TWRP as you would install a custom ROM. However, instead of installing B360, you can install B385 update to be on the latest version. Use Firmware Finder to download the update but ensure that the update is FullOTA-MF-PV as shown in the screenshot attached.
Or if you don't want to unlock the bootloader, then no problem. When you hit the firmware in Firmware Finder, along with Download there are other options too. Select 'Get an update through DNS' and follow the instructions.

You won't get any Nougat upgrade notification until you update your device up to B162 which is the last MM version for your FRD-L04C567.
If your device is stock and locked you just need to push the B162 FullOTA (version 66280) using Firmware Finder proxy installation method. Then you should get the B360 update notification. But if for some weird reason the notification doesn't come up automatically, then go ahead and push the B360 FullOTA (version 72309) using the same FF proxy method. For B385 (version 83098) it will be the same procedure.
I've done it myself before and it works.

Need Marshmallow firmware for FRD-L09C432B398

Hi, i tried to roll back to MM after my phone's camera stopped working, so i formated the device and proceeded to flash the stock Nougat firmware in TWRP.
The installation failed, and i was left with a device without an OS.
I used the dload method and rolled back to MM and EMUI 4.1
But when i was going to install the firmware it failed because it was for a different device.
I can't find any stock Android 6.0 firmware for my device. It's a FRD-L09C432B398, which i've come to find out is a pretty rare one.
Yes, i also tried Firmware Finder, but i couldn't find anything.
Could anyone please link me an Android 6.0 firmware update i could dload.
Thanks in advance.

The model is FRD-L09. B398 is the rom version.
If this doesnt work it means you arw doing something wrong. I made rollback with this package and rom more than 10 times, even from B398. Search on XDA a thread with a rollback tutorial

L09C432 is your model B398 is the ROM version.
FF doesnt work for rolling back. dload rollback package first, then the B131 (which is MM), then it works
edit: was too late apparently
for proper dload, put the respective UPDATE.APP file out of the zips in the dload folder ( create the folder if it doesnt exist) in your sdcard ( Rollback first, then MM) and then flash them both. (power + both vol. buttons when device is turned off)

Upgrade form B394 to B402/403

Hello guys,
long story short, I had the notification that a new update was released for my honor 8 FRD-L09C432 (B403, I was on B402), so, since I was rooted and with TWRP installed, I decided to unroot and install the original eRecovery.
Something went wrong and the system was damaged, so I flashed the B360 version first and after the B394. Now the phone is working really good but I can't install the new versions (B402 or 403). I tried:
flash the update from TWRP, not working
search the update from the dedicated option in the settings, no update found
tried to have it from the original eRecovery, error to find the info from the server.
tried also to update from the version B394 before unlock the bootloader, but it failed.
Am I missing something?
Use the get update through DNS thing in FF. It worked for me at least. Make sure the firmware is approved.

Hi Days Tech, could you please explain better what do you mean? Is there a link of some tut that I can follow?
Thanks!
Ok now I have the point, thanks for this tip!:good:
Flash TWRP.
use data.zip file and flash it via TWRP. (only download from FullOTA-MF PV file)
reboot and you are done. you will have updater in settings.
now you can flash the update.zip file via dload.
