why...;;
It hasn't affected my watch. I still get about 3 days to a charge.
Sent from my SM-T530NU using Tapatalk
Mine also. I used to get 2 days with always on and now it lasts less than one day. Started this morning at 100% around 7 am and its 6pm with about 10% battery. Any ideas? No additional apps were added. Also updated Samsung pay about the same time.
I am down from almost 3 days to 1.5. And that is with using it less as the newness of it wore off.
I am back to normal now two days and at 40%. No idea why it's gotten better I'm not changing how use the watch really. Very strange.

How long did it take to get back to normal?
I also have the same problem since last update. I usually had 3 days with a charge, now it lasts just two days, sometimes less.
Don't know if it comes from the watch itself or the phone, I have a Note 4. I would say from the watch, because when using the watch in autonomous mode without phone, I still have four days battery life.

I have had the SW2 since Tuesday. I charge it at night and at 7:30 am I take it off charge. By 7pm every night (12 hours later) it is about to die. I have to recharge it to use it until about 10pm when I plug it in for the night. I have the weather installed on never refresh, Missed calls, Call handling and watchit. I dont use the watch that much. Normal use. Were is this 3 to 4 day battery life sony is saying??
I replied to your other post not repeating myself here
That doesn't sound normal. I did notice that the watch battery drains quick when my phone and watch are separated by a large distance. With a large distance I mean different rooms in a concrete building.

Not charged mine since I got it Thursday. I noticed there are some complaints on battery drain using some of the third party apps in the store. The watch faces one seemed to get a lot of mentions... Can't remember the exact name of it.

my last for 4 days (turn it off at night)
With a moderate use, the charge of my SW2 lasts 2 days.
I get 2 days ish with mine, and i leave mine on at nights
Initially i got 1 day, but i was using it to show off etc
I get 2 days without swithching it off too. This is kinda dissapointing since sony claims 3-4 and even 6 days lith light use.
I use my sw2 with sgs2, i wonder if thats relevant to the battery life.
Another thing ive noticed, I get almnost no diference in bat life when disabling vibrations, changing brightness and stopping notifications. Basicaly i get 2 days with heavy use and 2 days with light use.
Maybe this means most of the battery is drained via BT?

battery is Android build dependant
Here is an update.
I've got a replacement since the first sw2's screen got ugly dark spot.
The new one also had about 2 days of battery, then I updated to newer cyanogen version and voila, 3-4 days of battery easily achieved.
Then I changed my S2(i9100) for Moto G. The moto g has original kitkat and the battery life on my sw2 droped to ~1day. phone's battery was also about a day, without sw2 connected it can easily do 2-3 days! my S2 running cm11( kitkat 4.4.2 ) was fine.
Soo, obviously the battey life is very much rom dependant. sony's software works works well with some roms and not so well with others!
regards.
Mine is receiving a charge at the end of every 4th day. I'm not turning it off at night.
I'm using one of the original watchfaces and it has the same behavior with the nexus4 and the Z1C I'm using.
As set of apps installed, the ones waking up the watch are the notification apps: Email, Messaging and Watchify ...
I have mine connected to a Moto G running KitKat and only get 1 day maximum out of the watch

Nexus 5 with SlimKat, turning off when I sleep, mostly using Watchify, Hourly Vibration (vibrate every 30 minutes) and Calendar, occasionally Toggles, Runastic and few other apps. 5-7 days on battery. For me battery is great.
Mine lasts 4/5 days being off night
I used to get a week when running on 4.1 and now like 2 days after upgrading Xperia T to 4.3. Hopefully the update will fix this.

On a G2 with 4.2.2, I consistently got close to 3 days with normal use (with all call handlings, notifications, weather etc working normally). With the 4.4.2 update, I am seeing a bit higher power drain, so I'm looking at about 2 days of full time use. Will try the latest SW2 f/w update and report....

I got it fixed. Every since update I get 2 days. Not using it though. I had the qualcomm toq and gear 2 and gear 2 neo. Using the gears now.
i'm getting 3-5 days, Butterfly S on 4.4.2, hasn't changed since the update

i do have the tap-to-wake disabled, serves no purpose in my opinion
would love to try the Gear 2, not willing to buy a galaxy phone for it though
I think my battery problems are solved after a day with the new firmware. Tap to wake disabled.

anyone else having terrible battery life since the 4.4.2 update?
I can't believe how fast my battery drains now with average use. I used to get through the day and would usually be at about 70% left when I plug in at midnight. It's 4pm now and I'm already at 52%.
I've really noticed over the last 4 or 5 days after doing the OTA update on the 22nd.
I am connected to wifi all day, bluetooth is on, gps off. reallly only used for a few short phone calls, some texting and bluetooth streaming on my commute. This is the same usage and settings as was before the update with excellent battery life.
Looked around but couldn't see anything about this... am I alone here.
thanks!
I'm also noticing what I think is bad battery life. But I just got the phone and updated to KitKat before I even played around so I have nothing to compare to.
But I'm getting close to what appears to 12 hours on moderate use. This is my first full day with the phone so I'll know more in a couple days.

Has anybody found a solution for this battery drain? Im at 59% with 2hrs sot . My nexus 4 battery is better than this.
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
So far my average is around 2.5 hrs screen time at the 50% mark.
Today it was at 3 hrs screen time at 50% (14 hours total). This is my first day being rooted also. I've only had the phone for 8 days now however, not sure if it's normal or not. Coming from my gs4 it's a ton better!

This is my second g2 the first one was on 4.2.2 and i remember that gave me almost 8 hrs sot on same settings

Yup same here. I fixed my deep sleep issue with root, and greenify virtually everything, but screen on kills my battery pretty fast. Getting about what you guys are as well.

Apparently there is a new update that is available to international users that fixed the issues reported. Bluetooth always running, knock code, and decreased battery
Just going to start this by putting up these screen shots. After the first charge to%100. Watching Star Trek TNG on Amazon video. Listening through headphones, over WiFi. Sync on half the time.
Got the phone yesterday afternoon and am loving it!
Honorable mention:
Even after updates my G4 often had weird screen issues while typing. Especially while swyping. None here
Not the greatest battery I have seen android do. Given its lg and 3000 I will forgive it lol. With 1hr music 1.5hr Skype call and mild gaming. For some reason having an sd card again is making me download music and listen to them [emoji23]

Tell me about it. Add to that the extra battery promotion and that 200gb sd card and my forgiveness seems to grow a bit more! Lol
Not too shabby, though, methinks.
SideNote :
I wonder why it's so much smoother than the G4. I mean days ahead. That extra gig of ram make the difference? Who knows
I had gps running four 5 plus hours. Out in an area that had very little internet. Phone was trying to connect for several hours. And still got 5 hours screen on. This is doing almost a good a my note 2 with the mugen extended battery. Not quite. But close enough

Awesome so far... My G3 is not there and it's tempermental. I would hope that one battery is enough to last a whole day, but with the promotion AT&T is doing, it won't be long until the second battery is in my hands and it won't matter at all. I do love that! So far the shots look great, and as most people get their devices settled in it will really show it's true colors... For the second day that's pretty good in my book. SoT over 4 is aces these days with all these screens coming in at over 5...
On second charge.

The promotion is what made me not care. $175 worth of kit?! Yes please! But now having it and getting over 4 hours SOT, I'm very satisfied. Also, you hit the nail on the head. TWO screens, six inches of it, and over 4 HOURS SOT.... I'll take it!
If you look at the notes five forums you will see that to begin with everyone was complaining about battery life, however after short time everybody calmed down after the battery settled down. Has been the same with every device I have ever owned. Battery life takes a few days to reach efficiency.

Only seeing really is screen see to auto brightness . other than that I'm just using the phone. Nothing special.
I'm getting about 4 hours with Waze, screen at around 20-30 brightness, sync and data on. Standby time is awesome. On my first charge for example, I got 4 hours minimal use from 8%!! That was on wifi though and since it was first charge, it's not very objective info.
My phone is not going into deep sleep worth a damn. It almost seems like it is Bluetooth related (I leave BT on 24/7 - haven't had a problem in previous devices). Once I shut off BT, it seems to be sleeping, but I need to test it more. The phone isn't connected to anything. I just leave BT idling for when I get into my car basically... don't like having to turn it on/off, just like WiFi. Battery stats are showing that Android System is what is staying awake though, and not BT. Anyone else having a problem like this?
I get just ok battery life. Seems better than my G4(which I only had for 5 days. Still my Nexus 6 and old Note 5 seemed to be a lot better

Here is my results
Hi all. Haven't seen any active battery life threads.
Curious what everyone is getting because I'm thinking my drain might be a bit worse than others are getting.
I'm on the AT&T variant. Off the charger for 13 hours today and at only 42%. I've really only used it to check notifications and that's it. So I'm averaging about 4-5% drain per hour. Is this normal?
Any tips for achieving better battery life?

-Are you using an always on Clockface? That affects battery alot. I have to charge every night. I am usually down to 20 or 30% at Night. That is with me playing with clock faces to try and find one I like and using the always on Faces.

Yeah I am and figured that would be the first question for me. Unfortunately that's one thing I can't live without...or at least don't want to.

-I still get all day battery. I get up around 6 am and put it on the charger at night around 10 and still have 20 to 30% so it isn't getting 2 or 3 days but I don't wear a watch at night anyway so it works for me.
Same here
I am also around 20-30% after a full day use, that is if I am only on bluetooth ... I think it is the qualcomm chip vs. the samsung one? My experience is definitely far away from the 3 days claim. C'est la vie, I love the watch!
used to last only 1 day, by the time i get home from work at 8pm it had 10~15% left. After the latest software update now I have 75~80% by the end of the day, it even last through out the next day so i only needed to charger it on the 3rd day, HUGE battery improvement. Whatever verizon or samsung did on the new patch it is awesome, I always have all connections enable (bluetooth, wifi, NFC, location, mobile, etc)
Is yours the 3g version?
Also is it AT&T and what is your software version?
So I bought my gear s3 two days ago, and it was on Tizen 3.0, with the battery draining from 100% to around 15% in 14 hours of moderate use. Last night, I updated to Tizen 3.0.0.1, which claimed to improve battery usage, but today, just a mere 2 hours into the day with almost no usage and I am left with 89%! Is this normal? Based on this use, I would have to charge my gear every single night to be able to make it through the next day. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
(According to my gear app I should have 2 days of battery life, but it ends up barely lasting me through the day.)
Yes, unfortunately that is what I get too!
If I turn AOD off, it'll only use 25% per day!
But when I was on 2.3 it lasted that long with AOD on!
