Brightness Quick Setting on Nougat - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note5

I finally figured out how to put the Brightness scroll for quick adjustment. I had to pull the menu all the way down before ...
Pull the menu down. Hit the arrow next to bar to open the additional settings. Select to show on top and poof!

[Q] Always open Quick Settings?

Hi,
it's pretty annoying that you have to tap twice to open the quick settings... first tapping the clock and then the settings symbol.
Is there any way to always open the quick settings?
may only if there are no notifications?
Thanks!
I just put the settings app which you can find in the "other" section when you long press on your home screen, onto my home screen. Just one tap needed now to get to them.
yes, but that opens just the normal settings menu...
i like the settings-popup, it would be cool if this could be modified and always opens for quick access

Howto: CM10.1 Pie Controls

CM 10.1 has a really neat feature called pie controls which puts disappearing soft keys on your screen. Unfortunately the option is only available if you already have a navbar/soft keys. Here's how to enable them even without softkeys:
1. edit your build.prop and add the line "qemu.hw.mainkeys=0" to the end and reboot. This enables the navbar.
2. Go to Settings -> System and select Expanded Desktop and then Status Bar Visible.
3. Select Power and put a check in the box for Expanded Desktop.
4. Select Pie Controls and enable them.
5. Hold down the power button and then enable expanded desktop.
6. The navbar will disappear and pie controls will be enabled. Use them by swiping up from below the screen with your finger (from the middle S in the Samsung logo)
Note: if you later change your build.prop (or upgrade your cm 10.1 build) the settings to change these options will no longer be available in settings but the pie controls will still be enabled. If you want to go back and disable pie controls (or get back the expanded desktop without the status bar) you will need to re-add the qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 line to your build.prop to change the settings.
You can also go to advanced settings and kill the backlight on the physical keys in conjunction with this. The glow from them bothers the **** out of me but until now I had to leave it enabled for night time use.

Awesome
Fantastic tip. Pie controls are awesome. Is there an advantage to doing this over installing Pie Control or Taskarou from app market?
I may play with it just to compare

Adjust GS7 Edge DPI without Root

Here is a quick guide to adjusting your screen's dpi without root using a hidden menu. Original post found on phandroid http://phandroid.com/2016/03/17/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-native-dpi-setting-hidden/. Works great it helps condense the words on the screen so when viewing websites and other things the words are no longer on the edges.
Download/install Nova Launcher
On the Nova Launcher home screen, long press empty space and select “Widgets” at the bottom of the screen
Scroll to the top of the Widget select screen and swipe to the left to reveal the shortcut for “Activities“
Long press Activities and drop it on the home screen
A new screen will pop up and after it loads up (this can take awhile), scroll down and select the Settings drop down menu
Choose .DisplayScalingActivity (should be the 4th option down)
Now select the new Settings icon on your home screen (it wont be labeled) to open up the hidden DPI menu
Select either Standard or Condensed views
Phone will reboot with new settings applied

Unable to set lock screen options after update to CM 13

I've just updated to CM 13 and realized that my phone could be unlocked without any lock screen displaying. Previously, I had a pattern set for my OPO so I was surprised the OTA update removed it. Undeterred, I tried every type of lock option to no avail. It saves the pattern, PIN or password as it requests for it whenever I return to the options screen. However, pressing the power button or double tapping the status bar only blanks out the screen. Pressing the power button or double tapping the screen immediately unlocks my phone, thus bypassing any unlock mode that I've set. Any ideas or anyone facing this strange issue?
Am I the only one facing this problem?
@uninformeduser
Pull down the status bar until you see the quick toggles then do this:
1. "Edit tiles"
2. + (on the top right)
3. add the "Lock screen" tile
It should be grey now (inactive). Tap on it to enable the lockscreen again.
This tile disables the lockscreen, regardless of your security setting.
If this method does not help, I guess your only help will be a factory reset.

Great! Now the lock screen works as expected. Strange that the lock screen tile is auto selected after an OTA upgrade and no indication in the settings as well (until I toggled the tile off and back on again).
Offtopic: Gesture typing on android keyboard is not working anymore.

Can't tell you much as I use CM13 and won't switch to COS13.
Check the keyboard settings, there should be an option for gesture typing.

Yup, first thing I did was to head there and toggle gesture typing. No luck there and no idea how it got broken as it stopped working after the OTA update.

how to add a button on quick settings panel

please, can any tellme how to add the button "mobile data" to the quick settings panel, because when open the menu, the button its not there, so I need to get this function beside the wifi button... please any help?
Pull down the notification panel, then pull down a second time to expand the quick setting tiles. The mobile data tile should be listed there. You may need to add it or move it to be shown next to Bluetooth quick settings tile by pressing the "menu icon" , the 3 vertical dots, by the gear in the top right. Then choose button order. Simply hold down the tile you wish to move it'll vibrate and then allow you to drag to a different location.

Just realized the data tile had been disabled and is not available on the Galaxy SO for some stupid reason. Found this article that will allow you to add it. www.xda-developers.com/how-to-resto...ttings-tile-toggle-on-samsung-galaxy-devices/
Check out the comments below the article,as there is a shortcut.
