Hi,
it's pretty annoying that you have to tap twice to open the quick settings... first tapping the clock and then the settings symbol.
Is there any way to always open the quick settings?
may only if there are no notifications?
Thanks!
I just put the settings app which you can find in the "other" section when you long press on your home screen, onto my home screen. Just one tap needed now to get to them.
yes, but that opens just the normal settings menu...
i like the settings-popup, it would be cool if this could be modified and always opens for quick access

Is there a way to customize the applications which appear in the lock screen menu? (The quick launch menu). I searched the forum and couldn't find anything. I removed the stock email application and now there is just a void where that used to be. i would like to put another application in its place. Any ideas?

go to personalise on the home screen and then under display choose lock screen style, then choose the one you are currently using, or a different one if you wish and then choose settings and then click on the application you wish to change!!
If you are sing sense 3.5 then the option to change short cuts is just below the lock screen style in the personalise menu
Hello. I just installed Nova Prime 5.4-beta 4 on my LG G6. I am trying to figure out how to turn off/ disable the feature where when you long press somewhere in the dock area a "search apps" screen pops up rather than the normal widget/ wallpaper/ settings menu. It only does it when I long press in or near the dock, but since this is where I am use to long pressing to change wallpaper, or add a widget I keep getting this pop up instead. I have looked all through the settings and cant find it. I read that somewhere in the gestures menu there is suppose to be a long press menu, but if thats true I dont have that on mine. Ive added a screenshot to show you the pop up I am referring to. Thanks

Thanks. Im actually not talking about the home button. Ive got the long press home button to open search. What I mean is when I long press in the area where I have highlighted the 2 pink lines on the attached screenshot it opens the search apps menu also in the screenshot. But if I am able to press somewhere in the blue area above the pink lines I get the widget/ wallpaper menu. Its a bit hard getting the right area. I contacted Nova about it and they said the only way to disable that is to turn off the swipe up to access the app drawer feature. So I just try to long press just slightly higher in the area I highlighted blue. Hope this makes sense.

That actually worked. Thanks. Made the long press area a little smaller, but it stopped that menu from popping up. Thanks again!

Hi XDA Forum,
Here's a Nova alternative setup I like that will disable opening the the Search App form when you accidentally short tap the Home button . This setup also allows you to keep the Swipe Up for apps and the little " ^ " indicator above the Home button to open the App drawer when you actually want to get into the app drawer:
1. Nova Settings | App Drawer | Gestures | Swipe to open/close = On and
Swipe indicator = Enabled .
2. Nova Settings | Gestures | Home button | Nova | select None, and
"Only on main home page" = disabled .
This setup also seems to disable that "2 pink lines" area immediately above the home button, but below the " ^ " indicator, that Gam3r 4 Life showed in a pic above on 30th August 2017, 12:05 AM.

I'm having trouble finding out how to add a shortcut onto the home screen.
In Chrome I want to add a shortcut for a website as a home screen button. When I click the button "add to home screen" a notification popped up for a very short time and I could read it. It won't pop up again and I don't know what it wants me to do to solve the problem.
The same thing also happened with Google. I want to add Google weather to the home screen. In Google I searched weather and then tapped the option button, and click the add to home screen button. A quick notification popped up and disappeared again. I tried to add it over and over and nothing happens, no error notification either.
What options on permissions do I have to set?
Please help.
Sorry, not an answer to your question but as it's also home screen related, am I correct in saying there's currently no way to set which panel you want as your home screen? For instance if I want to have seven home screen panels but set the middle fourth to always return to upon launch?
I know I can use the app draw but I liked for instance, the ability with EMUI to be able to organise my apps/widgets so I could say, quickly swipe left from the home panel to see all my gaming apps grouped together, or quickly swipe the other way to see others easily.
Looking for HELP with a feature. Im comming from the s10 plus. I always used the function TAP to Swipe feature which is used for tapping to answer phone calls instead of sliding to answer. Its an option in the assistant menu. If you go to settings> accessibility> interaction and dexterity> assistant menu on> single tap to swipe… it can be turned on. But the problem is you cant get rid of the menu completly. On the s10 plus we was able to do this and hide it. Only option to hide it is slightly as an edge option.
Anyone know how to get rid of it completly while still allowing tap to swipe for answering phone calls?
I read your question over and over and looked at your screenshots and I really cannot work out what you mean.

Instead of swiping to answer phone calls you can just tap the answer button. Its activated thru the assisted menu. But when you activate it… it leaves a circle menu on the screen that you can put anywhere on the screen. There is an option to move it to the edge panel. You can see it on the picturr here i have it in the top right corner. On my s10 plus you can completly hide it while still being able to tap amd answer phone calls instead of sliding it to answer. Its called SINGLE TAP TO SWIPE.
OK, I am with you now.
I just checked on my Note 10+ and it's the same.
You can however hide the panel by dragging it to the top of the screen to the X that appears, this places the menu in the notification area, so although it cannot be hidden completely at least it no longer blocks your screen.
Once in the notification area, if you tap and hold the notification and then the gear icon, you can minimise it further there.
Hope this helps somewhat!

Its the same on the s10 plus which is what i am comming from. Youll get a accessability notification in the pull down bar but that can also be illiminated. On the note 20 ultra however when you hold down on the panel… there is no hide option. The only option im seeing is to put it on the edge panel… which is better but you can still see it.
I have the Note 10+ and use the Assistant Menu button to use single tap to answer calls. I could hide the button by holding and dragging it to the top of the home screen and releasing it when I see the X. Worked great. I recently updated my phone and it now has One UI 2.5. I cannot now hide the Assistant Menu button when I drag it to the top. Looks like the hide function has been removed. I don't like this at all. I don't like having to move the button around the screen to avoid interference with text, graphics, games, etc. Samsung needs to correct this ASAP!
You can either purchase "package disabler pro" and disable the accessibility app. Or you can go to settings>apps>all apps> scroll to accessibility then force stop the app and clear cache. It will stay hidden until you restart the phone. Make sure you have the single tap setting enabled first before you do this

Bro i cant thank you enough. I have package dissabler already and it worked. U are the man. Appreciate it very much.
Now i just need to get the ok google ding sound when you wake google by voice.
I have accidentally deleted the settings icon on my screen (I swiped up too hard and fast and deleted it instead of opening it)
How can I navigate to settings without the icon?
How can I restore the icon?
I'm able to access the settings on my device but swiping down on the notification area and selecting the settings icon.
I didn't know it was possible to delete the icon from the app drawer...
Of course!!!!
D'oh!
Now that I have found settings again (thank you thank you) I'll go about recovering the icon to the "desktop"
Arrggh!
I can't restore the shortcut to the "desktop" and because it's still a new-to-me phone, I like to have it there.
It is in the list of widgets, but when I try and swipe it to the desktop nothing happens!
IMO the easiest way to recover lost or deleted Android app icons/widgets is
1. To touch and hold on an empty space on your Home screen. This method should cause a new menu to pop up with customizable options for your device.
2. Next, select Widgets and Apps to open a new menu.
3. Tap Apps. From here, you can choose the app icon that you previously deleted by mistake.
4. Hold the icon and drag it onto a space on your device. (You can rearrange it later.)
Your app should now be exactly where you want it to be, and it’ll be ready to use right away.
